I believe that what happened on May 14th 1948 has to be significant, prophetically: for after suffering the massacre of millions of Jews in Europe, they now had a homeland to which they could retreat and find sanctuary. Israel declared it's independence on that day and the state of Israel took form once more. Israel are back in the land,

Hello Reba1,

They are at present Loammi, ie., 'not My People': because of the blindness of their own hearts, and are under the curse of Isaiah 6:9-10: but that will not always be so. The day will come when God's will, will be done in them, and His purposes fulfilled in and through them as Priests unto God among the nations. Yes, they will see Him returning and mourn, and acknowledge that the mark of the thorns in His forehead, and the mark of the nails in His hands were of their doing, and will repent in dust and ashes.

It is not a matter of disliking Israel it is a matter of understanding who/what Israel is. As for Mount Zion and the new Jerusalem please notice the tense.
