Writing from the UK, I'm dismayed at the number of lives lost due to gun violence in the United States, and bewildered at the unwillingness to do much about it. Other countries, UK included, have the situation under control.

For Japanese citizens to purchase a gun, they must attend an all-day class, pass a written exam, and complete a shooting range test, scoring at least 95% accuracy. Candidates will also receive a mental health evaluation, performed at a hospital, and will have a comprehensive background check done by the government. Only shotguns and rifles can be purchased. The class and exam must be retaken every three years.

The firearms-related death rate in Japan is 0.08 per 10,000 people. In the United States, the rate is 136 times higher.

The death by firearms, may be lower. But violent crime in general is much closer, proving that guns alone aren't the problem.
Yes the US is 4 times higher in many categories, but violent crime still exists in these other countries.

Good thing we don't live in Greenland!!!!!!! The percentage is almost worse than the US by almost double!!!!!!

Always remember that only in Jesus will the heart of man be changed, and that is what is necessary in stopping man killing each other.
If you took every weapon away, which would include guns, knives, arrows, pencils, toothbrushes, animal bones etc., they'd use their hands to kill each other!
Man outside of God, does not have the ability to know what Good is, and only in Jesus is man changed!

Yes, I hear that all the time from people in America, but it's not true. Simply not true. In Japan people are not being murdered by toothbrushes, bones or bare hands - they are not being murdered at all. The murder rate in Japan is 0.26 per 100k of the population. In the USA it is 4.96 (2018).

I'm not convinced that people in the USA are inherently more sinful than in Japan - I think it's largely due to a culture that glorifies violence, and easy access to lethal weapons.

My suggestion would be to tackle the biggest problems first, then turn attention to the secondary ones. The appalling rate of gun deaths in the US ought to be tackled somehow. Other nations have done it.

Don't take my word for it, just look at history before there was ever guns!!! Also, if you know prisons where the only guns are with the officers. You will see that inmates kill each other, with self-made deadly weapons that I mentioned, and more!

I won't exemplify Japan as naturally growing into a non-violent culture because the culture had to change after WWII. However, Japan does have their cases as well. I won't search them for you, but not too long ago they had a case where people were killed by a homemade weapon that was made to act like a gun! People are going to kill people!!! Maybe you think that's not the case, but I noticed that you didn't say anything about my Greenland comparison!

What do you consider easy access to lethal weapons? If the statistics are found you will see that it is illegal weapons that are cause for the majority of deaths, and that they happen primarily in the larger metropolitan areas in the US. Probably the same case for most countries. However, those countries that don't have death by guns (illegal) do have death happening with legal weapons!!! Knifes, machetes, poison, and the list goes on and on. That was my point in case you missed it in my last post. People without Christ Jesus, and history reflects this, will not stop killing because of availability/access to weapons, regardless of type!

Now US just happens to have more cities than other countries which is where most killings occur. Plus, the majority of cities happen to have liberal policies and the lack of desire to enforce laws that already exist or changing them to allow the decriminalization of the criminal in these cities! These cities have become in a larger respect just like some places in the UK, which are "No Go Zones". Law enforcement looks to contain the violence, and attempt to limit the spread, but actually do not go in there to stop it!

To give you an idea since you are from the UK and may not know this. Chicago Illinois has one if not the most deaths by gun violence in the US but has one of the strictest gun laws in the US. It's almost impossible to have a gun there legally, but it does not stop the criminals from getting/having them. Officials do nothing to go into the areas that these deaths occur and prohibit any law that would allow for searches to be done by Law Enforcement to go get them!!! Because they are minority areas. You want to critique the US in general. Well, welcome to the club, but I won't put people in any other country as examples of Godliness either! Plus, this is not my home and hopefully the UK isn't yours either. Just happens to be places we happen to reside in until we are called Home!

Many people are living in fear here. So, they arm themselves in the belief that having a weapon will somehow provide them security and safety. Only God can grant one the peace of mind and can do that. We need Jesus, and gun control does not move the needle either way.

One day I took my "357 Magnum"Combat Pistol", and I was going to Kill this person, I didn't care what happen to me, I have took enough from people messing with me! I got to this door. and could hear their voices. And something, Said to me "What are you doing" Killing them will not straight out things" they will still be evil. Leave it to me, "I will handle it", I will repay! I turn around and walk away, "As sure as I heard that voice: GOD did repay that person was dead in a few years! DEAD!

Then later on, one of My employees Brought a Gun to work and was going to kill me for firing him, we was standing face to face. And I told him he could not come back. He walked away. He had a interview for a new job and they called me for a reference. I spoke to the person, and I said to the Employer, he needs a chance, he is a good worker but he needs a chance he cannot advance here, The only thing he needs is a chance. And few days later that person came back with tears in his eyes and told me I want to thank you, I thought you was against me. But my new employer told me what you said about me and He gave this job because of what you said. That day I came in here after you fired me, I came there to kill you I had my Gun ,and a voice told me not to kill you. And I turn around and obeyed that voice, and walked away. This young man had tears in his eyes! these People knew I was straight up. I had a couple of Gangs working for me. and sometimes I would go to there Boom Box Rap music player and take out their music and play my music because I had a lot older women working for me and they would not play a variety of music and I warn, if they didn't play music that was pleasing to the older women I would take there music out and play the music I like in there "Boom Box" and I did! and all on here knows what kind of music I like! They would say He plays music that makes you think! and they the Gangs made a " RAP SONG" about me, and The older women loved it. I turn that business around, they had College grads running its supervisions, I replace them and train THE employees and put them into "Management" with full benefits and Made "The Business NEWS" as one of the Top Raising Companies in Michigan. Yes sometimes I was "scared" but I TRUSTED GOD! to protect me and if he didn't, so what he was able. Now some tried to make me fail. And at times I said nothing, and I hired my Dad and my oldest son, to help me and "The PostMaster General" came to my aid. I had over 250 employees.

God Can make you and them into "NEW WINE" JESUS can, not a church, Not a preacher, nor a Counselor. But "GOD" can! he takes Guns out men hands, He can change and make new creatures out "sinners" of all kinds. The adulterer, The Fornicator, The Homosexual, The lesbian, GOD can for He has Sent a "SAVIOR" into This land! Not one on this channel but "Christ4Ever" it seems is crying out for other victim the one that pull The Trigger on The Gun, He needs Jesus too! For oh yes He is being Tormented by demons and devils of all kinds, Jesus came, HE died for "SINNERS" and not the righteous!
