Jari-

Please put to rest "scriptures that seem to put condition on being saved", this is what the "Great Deciever" wants people to think. He wants us to think that we are still subject to the Law and that God's Grace is not sufficient.

God said that he replaced the Law or the Old Testament requirements with the New Testament and Grace, the Old Covenant replaced by a New Covenant.

God says that we are saved by our Faith in Grace and not of works.
Grace is a gift from God and as a gift it is free.

God did not say that you are saved by your Faith in the Law because it was insufficient in bringing us to salvation. Why? It was insufficient because it required us to keep a certain amount of conditions ( like the 10 Commandments) and we are imperfect and we could not do them 24/7 and were bound to fail. God says that if you fail on just one of the 10 Commandments, one time, then you have failed all of them. This is no different than the "conditions" that you think that we are still under!

We are not under conditions, we are under Grace. A covenant that could only be designed by a loving, compassionate and perfect God. A covenant is also defined as a contract. Any contract superceeds any contracts before it. The truth is God contracted with us that if you believe in him and his promise, he gives you the Holy Spirt, Jesus Christ, to live in you and from that point, there is no other conditions for your salvation. If anyone tells you anything different, turn away from them!

I heard or read a saying once: "God did not come down out of heaven and to the earth to get us out of Hell, He came down from Heaven to earth to get inside us". Once he does this, you are saved for all eternity.

Do this and you will learn to walk in the ways of the Lord. This is a process and you will not do it perfectly but, you will grow, it's called Sanctification.

And no, don't listen to the lies that this gives you and open permit to sin, it does not and nor will you want to. When you mess up, just acknowledge it to the Lord ( those times that you are aware of anyway), thank him for what he did on the cross for you, work on improving and move on in peace and assurance.

You do this and you will have good works that show your faith is alive.

One last thing:
Jesus said: : "I am the Vine and you are the branches, if you are in me and I in you (saved), you will produce much fruits (works) but with out me you can do nothing".

You might think your doing it but that is pride. The fruits that you bare are the Lords, remember he is the vine, we are just the branch!

God Bless

Dear Jari,

Have you ever confessed the Lordship of Jesus Christ over your life (Romans 10:9-10)?

You may believe everything that Jesus Christ has done for you when He died, was buried and rose again but still end up in hell... for not continuing to believe in the name of the Son of God ( 1 John 5:13),(John 3:18).

But you see, salvation is an ongoing process till Christ finally comes on His great Day. 1Peter 1:8-9 says, " Receiving the end of your faith - the salvation of our souls".
Phil 2:12 says "..work out your own salvation with fear and trembling"

Salvation is an all-inclusive word which refers to your prosperity, peace, health, victory,preservation... and much more which is the result of the death, buriel and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

If you want to be saved and remain saved then you ought to confess/declare the LORDSHIP of Jesus Christ over your life by the WORD of GOD!

So keep declaring the LORDSHIP of Jesus Christ over yourself through the Word of God, for you to remain saved and to believe in His name - till Christ comes with glory.

You Also need the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth ( John 16:13) ( 1 Cor 2:9-13)... no wonder you are in such confusion.

He is the One who will reveal and show you everything and will teach you everything through the Word ( 1 John 2:27), and with Him you got to work out your own salvation and believe in the name of the LORD Jesus Christ and walk in faith ( James 1:22). Without the Word of God and the Holy Spirit - you are sunk. He is your Helper and Comforter.

Get up from that pit and know that you are saved IF you have made Jesus Christ the LORD of your life. If not then go back to Rom 10:9 and do it. Confess it.

And then keep confessing His LORDSHIP over your life and keep believing till He comes!

Go over these scriptures and study them

God bless you

Well it sure is confusing.. everybody saying different thing....

I don't think people are, Jari. The message coming through loud and clear is that we do not 'make' our own salvation. God does by his grace, it is a free gift from him.

I hope Pre was saying that our 'job' in response to this free offer of salvation is to confess Jesus as Lord and have the discipline to read Scripture, give Him time in prayer, and to meet with our brothers and sisters - and share with them our weaknesses to avoid the devil leading us away.

When she says 'remain saved' I think it misleading. It is a dangerous path which leads to a salvation by works - by what we do. But I hope and pray that she does not mean this, rather she means, we need to remain in God's presence. We can be saved but be far from God and open to attack from the evil one.

All I do know is that when we first confess God conquers part of our heart - all of our heart we are able to give him. But then there are parts we are unable to surrender to him at first. And our journey with him with give us the grace to surrender more and more. So keep surrendering those negative emotions to Jesus...and keep asking Him to reach the roots of those emotions and conquer them. You will need good mature Christian brothers to pray this through with. This is essential.

It will take time, but remember....God loves you where you are at right now. Nothing will change that.

I think these are the key verses...1 Cor 3: 13-15

"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

These show that we are saved, but if after that we set our heart on other things than Jesus, and carry on in our own ways, we will be hurt when the Day arrives, but not destroyed.

thank you Peterorange. I hope so too because having to do X thing everyday seems like too hard to cope - of a way, to keep your salvation.
I try to keep near Lord everyday but fear kreeps in and i hear people saying you need to walk in spirit etc. Ive been quite desperate recently for the past couple of days.

Jari, people will say different things according to different levels in their faith walk but according to God's Word. Also because you have posted in a pretty wide atmosphere where everyone can read and comment on.

However, Jari, I encourage you to go to the Master our LORD Jesus Christ and ask all your questions... and He will answer them over time because He loves you.

He won't say different things nor will He confuse you - He is your sure place of rest! "In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" Col 2:3.
"If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus.." Eph 4:21.

You make the decision to seek Him and know Him. Instead of being spoon-fed by others.

God bless you

This is true. This is why you need to go to Christian brothers you know and trust, Jari...why we all need a fellowship to belong to.

However, Jari, I encourage you to go to the Master our LORD Jesus Christ and ask all your questions... and He will answer them over time because He loves you.
True too. This is what it always comes back to :).... "Perfect love casts out fear" 1 Jn 4:18

blessings, Jari...praying for you :)

Thanks. Well its just all so confusing still and i feel like I never get answer to this. I wish God him self would answer me if ASOS is true and i could carry on the path he has for me. Because its always unclear to me what is His will..

Dear Jari
The post I sent you listing the format as to how one becomes a christian is a key to knowing whether you are saved or not.

To summarise, if you have repented of your sins before God, then got baptised in water in Jesus name or in the name of the FAther Son and HOly spirit, you would have received the holy spirit in-dwelling in you, at that point you ARE SAVED.

The scriptures I quoted showed this and further that ONLY those with the indwelling of the holy spirit will make it into God's kingdom and ultimately eternal salvation/life .
READ ACTS 2: 38 and ROMANS 8:9 in that order, one after the other and you will see what I am referring to.
God bless you, hope this helps in your clarification.

I agree with everything but the "Water"!

Thanks for the encouragement all. Just some spiritual people told me you have to be spirit filled everyday to be saved so i see that as very difficult and got concerned. Also I have understand we should keep God's commandments and I was told this is required, And I just fear short coming in all this.

Your agreement or disagreement with 'the water' is only between you and God. I simply quoted what the scriptures say.

The moment you truly believe you are spirit filled for ever. The having to be spirit filled evey day and I was told that God's commandments was required is living your life under the LAW and not by Grace. Remember this (paraphrasing): " It is by Faith that you are saved through Grace, it is a gift and not of your own works".

It is not just about me and God, it is all of us and God. If you think that you must be baptized by water in order to be saved, you are living under the Law and not living under Grace.
