Need Advice ,Support Its Here

Hi Mounty

Dear Mounty,

Thank you so very much for caring and for writing to me,... you give good solid advice. I do not have any family or friends to turn to when a panic attack hits.. but I will try my best to give it over to the Lord more. It's good advice when you said to live only for today.. not tomorrow or yesterday :) . I live in a small town called Indiana, Pennsylvania... where are you from my friend :) ?

God Bless you tremendously !!

Im from Ireland born and raised. Exercise is a brillent way to ease panic attacks mabey join a walking group or just some light activites if you are unable for more powered sports. I find panic attacks hit when our mind isnt occupied if we keep ourselves busy with work or social they tend not to occour so much. Try giving yourself a pinch when you feel your mind starting to wander or mabey when you become to deep in thought this is a slight reminder to return to the world it helps and it can hurt so it takes your mind off it for a few minutes while you wonder why you pinched yourself lol

Hi Emma

Dear Emma,

Thank you so much for your advise.. and you're right, when my mind isn't occupied, that's when panic attacks set in, or else when I am focused on something scarey like traveling, etc. What else do you do when you have/had panic attacks ?

Sincerely,
Bob

I've had panic attacks, so I thought I might add a few tips. I hope it helps. Firstly, I stay on my meds (anti-depressant); If I don't, I tend to have stronger and more quantity of anxiety attacks. This next tip is kinda weird: A good way to prevent panic attacks is to be in touch with my emotions. How do I do this? Well, by noticing if I am becoming sad, tired, unexplained crying, unexplained anxiety. If I ignore small symptoms, they seem to grow bigger.

For instance: If I don't pay attention to a relationship that needs mending and I suppress my feelings....I can end up having a panic attack over something totally unrelated to that problem. One day not long ago, I started panicking because a mole on my back was changing, and I totally was convincing myself that I had skin cancer. So I started some good deep breathing, lay down on the couch, prayed, and thought about what was truly bothering me. And it wasn't the mole. It was something more important. There's usually an underlying reason for anxiety attacks. And the biggest help---bigger than medicine, is our Counselor, the Alpha and the Omega---God.

Very true dreamer. Our emotions are the key to panic attacks , fears ,worryies etc. Im the kind of person who worryies alot about everything.
I find using a journel is brillent. Try writing down what it is that you have to do for the day. What needs your attention and work.
Work through your list through out the day. At the end of the day write down how you felt ,what worred you , what part of your life you feel you need to work on, etc
You will find you wont forget things anymore. Things get done on time you stay a step ahead.
In turn thats alot of worrying you have elimited from your life.
Remember you have no control over what can happen none of us do our lives are in the hands of the lord. There is no one else i would rather have my life in there hands than him.
Also when you make a mistake dont punish yourself just remind yourself that is just one more way that doesent work for me tommorow i will try something else.
The lord loves you just as much as any one else. Hold your head up you are a child of the Lord what greater gift could you ask for.
When your mind begins to wander let it wander towards thoughts of the lord his love his kindness the amazing life that awaits you beside him.

I just want to say that it's getting a little easier (losing weight). Evidently my stomach is shrinking. I was doing housework today and all of the sudden felt really weak and hungry. I took 2 pieces of rye bread and and some low-fat sandwich meat and slowly started eating. I couldn't even finish the sandwich! I put about 1/3 of it back in the refrigerator for later.

I am genuinely encouraged. I had come to believe that I literally could not lose weight because of my age and having the baby late in life. I had convinced myself that I was doomed to be overweight. A lie! I can be healthy. I just have to change my habits and think about what I'm doing.
