Hello Trucker,
Thank you for your review on the book “The Shack”.
As a matter of fact, I did read the book “So you don't want to go to Church anymore” -- online. I enjoyed the book so much that I purchased a copy for my library in hopes in reading it again. It has been a while so it wouldn’t be fair to give it a review since it has been a few years. But what I do remember is that the story itself set in motion a yearning for a deeper relationship with my Heavenly father.
For those who may be interested in knowing what the book is about here is a synopsis of the book from Chapters -- “Jake Colsen, an overworked and disillusioned pastor, happens into a stranger who bears an uncanny resemblance (in manner) to the apostle John. A number of encounters with John as well as a family crisis lead Jake to a new understanding of what his life should be like: one filled with faith bolstered by a steady, close relationship with the God of the universe. Facing his own disappointment with Christianity, Jake must forsake the habits that have made his faith rote and rediscover the love that captured his heart when he first believed.”
Another book I do recommend. God bless!
Best wishes,
Snowrose

I read the Shack and was set back at First by the fact God was portrayed as a women. But soon I saw something that astounded me. The book showed me the complete yielding of the trinity to each other. It showed a continuous ebb and flow as each part of the trinity did their job yielding to each other to accomplish the will of God in the lives of humans. I enjoyed the book, did not agree with all of it, but I walked away marveling at the Grace of God, the genuine concern God has for his man and that he will go to great lengths to reach out to people both good and bad. Did anyone catch how concerned God was for the serial killer? He knew if he continued on the path he was, it would result in eternal damnation.
Now that is the Love of God.
