One question 'till conversion

So I have been convinced that there must be a God, but before I commit to a religion I would lie one question answered which I don't quite understand.

So this is a question similar to ones many people considering religion have wondered. Basically, why does God tell us of his existence and what he wants of us through prophets? If it were some more undeniable way, like if in a way everyone understands, in the sky was written 'God is real.' This is significant because, without significant proof many will go to hell.

Furthermore, how is it fair to send people to hell if all of their wrongdoing was only ever done through ignorance, and God never stopped them. He just watched the wrongdoing, never warned the person, but after death it's a massive punishment.

I'd be very grateful if this were explained to me. Thank you.
Dear loroner,
First welcome to Talk Jesus, and online Community of Believers in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Sadly, if God even did what you asked of Him to do, there would be people who would excuse it for one reason or another. Take a look at the Bible, and read it and you will find this the case over and over again. Mostly it has to do with His Chosen people Israeli, but even before them, you could see it. Take a look at Noah's example. Took him over 100 years to build the ark and during that time it was a prime example of what was going to happen. Did anyone listen? Nope.

Now for the most current, and to me and many others the most powerful to God's existence. God's manifestation in human form, in the guise of Jesus the Christ, or Yeshua Hamashiach, which means Jesus the Messsiah. There's a great passage that some take as a parable, and others of a real account :) regardless it speaks to the density of humanity in believing what is right before their eyes to believe. Here it goes for your enlightenment. It's called Lazarus and the Rich Man. I hope you enjoy it.

(19) "There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. (20) "But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, (21) "desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. (22) "So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. (23) "And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (24) "Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' (25) "But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. (26) 'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.' (27) "Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, (28) 'for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.' (29) "Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.' (30) "And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' (31) "But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.' " Luke 16:19-31 NKJV

Note: Just that you might know. The original writings did not have numbers attached to them. This was added later in order to allow easy referencing when writing about them. It caught on and has been that way universally ever since. This way if I were to write just John 3:16, then everyone one know what I was talking about without having to write it out! Here's a link that you might find interesting if you're inclined to want to know how this numbering came about.

Now let's see. You said "This is significant because, without significant proof many will go to hell." Meaning God's existence.
As you can see in the above Bible verses referenced, it really would not make a difference to people what you do or say that will convince them. That is why God allowed for something that folks who even know Him, have difficulty wrapping their heads around!

However, here's a link to a very good thread here on Talk Jesus that is worth the read. Why believe in Christianity?

I'm adding this one too, because it's a good article on the subject of why Christianity is the only way to God.

Now I could go on and on, but I do believe this should provide you a jumping point for getting your feet wet. :)

What you might take time to do, is look at the Bio's of some of the members here. Some give an account of how they came to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. What you'll find is that there is no cookie cutter version to receiving Him! Wonderful to know!

Again, be welcome to Talk Jesus, and I'm sure any questions that you have will be welcomed and answered....if some of the folks here beat each other up over answering them!!! ;)
At least I hope they take 1 Corinthians 13 (entire chapter) into consideration!!!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
