Online dating - "Yes" or "No" ?

The internet can be good or can be bad for dating, and yet I would say it you truly trust & believe in my Lord Jesus Christ then wait for Hi direction as He will guide yo to your ideal partner. If you don't then you could be asking for trouble as people can be very deceiving, and there is a serious danger here, but it is your decission at the end of the day, if it was me I would trust in my Lord before anything else. Jesus is Your Guide Trust in Him.

Well put brother. It all comes down to the will of our Father in Heaven. Look into the heart of Christ and obey Him, let Him speak and GOD will guide you according to His will. With our awesome GOD, expect the unexpected, sweet surprises

Hi, my name is Faith
and I would like to know your opinion on this question.

Anyway
Do you think that Lord can use internet dating servis for His will?
Or isn´t it better to pray and wait for the real meeting of "your future wife/husband"?
Do you have any examples or know any storries about people who meet by this servis and now they are calm, happy, loving family?
Or isn´t it something like unpatient Christianity?
I totally rejected this way of knowing this kind of God´s will by using christian dating servis, but right know... I am not sure if I totally reject it or no.
I am so confused
From my opinion, it might be where the Lord wants you to meet your better half. The fact that it sometimes doesn't work does not mean that it could not work well for you. Go ahead and do it in support with prayers and I hope that if that's how God has planned that you meet Mr. or Mrs Right, then so be it. It is His will.

Dont be confused - I know a very happy couple who met and married through the internet. They have been blessed with children. In some ways its a better way to get to know how people think before you meet them.If its right then it should be like meeting an old friend. The Lord inspired people to create channels for communication. I think you have to use common sense, be honest and open and state your Christian values clearly and then see what happens. Its worth a chance.

On line dating.......I read of success... and love. In Jesus..that is the important thing.

We must find a mate of like passion........desire to follow Jesus

If this is realised......and we know before God "till death us do part" Amen.

I also know people who have met and are married.. I agree with the others who have posted that you must be clear have Jesus first Always

I think that a big problem single Christians have today is finding dates with other single believers with whom they are compatible. It can be very frustrating.

I have two good Christian male friends who have used on-line dating with some success. The advantage of on-line dating being the profiles the web site develops through information the client furnishes. Believers are not matched with unbelievers.

One of my friends is getting married to a lady he met through an internet dating service. The other just concluded a very enjoyable first date a couple of days ago that was arranged through an internet dating website.

"Through Him (Jesus) all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made" (Jn 1:3). And that includes internet websites.

I believe that if your heart is right with our Lord Jesus Christ then all things are possible because He did say if you need anything call upon His Name and it shall be given, and I did that and waited for His answer, as He knew what my heart desire was and what I needed, and behold I received my gift in the form of my wife Sharon who is everything I have asked for and if your heart is right with god then you too can have real happiness.

Dating agencies are a con and if you trust in God then why go to a dating agency to find your husband/wife leave it to him and He will bring the right person for you who will be totally compatable with and it won't cost you anything my friends.

God be with you all and have a nice day.

Whether they are a con or not, God can use dating agencies to bring husband and wife together. We cannot dictate the paths God uses for sending blessings to us.

Simply amen!

For as the heavens are higher than the earth,so are my ways higher than your waysand my thoughts than your thoughts.

Mark 10:27
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God."

I just have to give my testimony after reading the statements and questions about online dating....I met my husband now of 9 years our anniversary was yesterday. We met online in a chat room on another site and talked for 3 years then the rest is history but I can truly say that I prayed for a good Godly man and one that would love God as much as I did and show me what true love was....I am hoping that this helps someone who is looking for their good God match made relationship because thats what it takes. Pray for God's will in helping you find the one that He wants you to be with and believe that He will do it... It takes faith and believing to make it happen....

I also met my husband of 9 years in a chat room! :) I think I define the internet as a tool. People use it for good like TalkJesus and some use it for evil...the list for evil is growing sadly :( Just be watchful, careful, and prayerful! :D

The problem with online dating is the times when imagination is confused with reality, which is usually the case when one first starts online dating, they have high expectations and high hopes, and this soon fades. Or they end up in a virtual relationship and end up getting hurt. If the end goal is not to be together in person then forget it, they are just time-wasters. e.g. guy or girl with no job, no money, in "love" with someone on the other side of the world - it's not gonna happen. If you meet someone online, aim to meet in person as soon as possible or just stay 'pen pals until'. If God meant for humans to have relationships via the internet only he would have given Adam and Eve a broadband modem and a laptop. It's not considered a real relationship folks until you meet, spend time together in person, face to face, not until you can smell their breath and hear their heart-beat - try convincing any immigration or government department.
These days you can meet a virtual guy or gal, talk about virtual things, have a virtual relationship, marry over webcam and then have a virtual internet baby.
And to complete the experience you can get one of those life-like Japanese robots.
There is people in the world who actually marry robots or life sized manequins, I read it on the news sometimes.

I'm aware that God does use the internet to bring folks together (TalkJesus) ! :) I'm also aware that sometimes God uses internet dating services to bring people together as a couple So it's not wrong, unless God tells you it is wrong for you. He may have another plan and it will be a waste of time for you. Seek after Him about it, as you would about any other issue in your life..

Yes I agree sister @Dreamer

The Lord can use many avenues to bring two people together.
The most important thing is to keep committing everything into His hands and asking for His leading.....trusting that He will open and close doors.
His word says He will direct our paths if we acknowledge Him in all our ways.....

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
James 1:5

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:6

Ironically I met my ex-wife via a Christian dating site years ago. Who's fault was it? Not the site. It was my lack if applying wisdom at the time.

On a side note, I know a very special couple who met via this site, Talk Jesus and got married. God also used them to help me through my divorce as well! That's the power of God folks.

I haven't had success with dating sites. I believe that God will send me the right person at the right time and that I'm to use my time to serve Him and love Him. He knows best. I'm tired of making mistakes and wasting my time. I'm sure there is someone out there who met on a dating site and it was God''s will. Just not for me.

Hello again, Just adding to this conversation. My husband and I are going to be married 16 years on October 3rd. We love God and love doing ministry work together. God is so very very good to us.

The advantages of this trend is fact that love became more accessible. Not met in real life, you can find suitable candidates and talk, getting to know each person closely. This is a definite plus for the city dweller, having, as a rule, lack of time for an institution dating. My brother thinks to use for example the sites of Facebook, Quora and others for new meetings.
