Hello Meme.

Number one arose from a fellow sitting under a tree. This fellow assumed that life is suffering, suffering is caused by our wants.
Stop wanting. Not correct but it seemed a good idea at the time.

Number two is an easy option. Judaism is waiting for the messiah. The messiah has already walked among us.

Number three, Hinduism, social caste system I think, karma etc. Also seemed like a good idea at the time.

Number five, Islam, perhaps the most curious of the philosphies. I traced this belief system back to a black rock in Mecca. It appears that Allaha was formerly a moon god. This rock (dolomite?) fell from the sky apparently, so of course it was worshipped. Mohommed was born nearby, thus with a bit of creativity, you get Islam. Now this is one powerful philosphy.

Why are they all philosphies, because they do not believe in Jesus.
Jesus is the only God. Therefore they must have seemed like a good idea at the time.

i am not really sure about other religions,but i can say this, christianinlty is the only one to say i believe that we can not do it it took Jesus christ to do it for us.

1) Buddhism isn't actually a religion. It was more a way of life until people began to mistake its continuity with other religions. Buddhism is simply the idea that life is suffering and that suffering comes from our desires; the only way to reach true enlightenment was through this eightfold path. Aside from a few ideas that Buddhism garnered through association with hinduism, shintoism and other religions, it could effectively be practiced along with any religion. What the Buddha teaches is not entirely dissimilar to what Jesus preached.

2) It's not as simple as David made it out to be. My roommate this year was Jewish and it's a very difficult religion. My praise to anyone who can operate under its ideals.

3) That's a fun one. The Hindus have this idea of "earthly union" between the God world and the human world; do some research on the Khandaria Mahajeva - it's a learning experience, I'll give you that. It has some interesting ideas (axis mundhi, Brahma/Vishnu, etc.). Though, I can't say what I truly feel about the religion as I don't know much about it.

5) Interesting ideas. Almost makes sense when not preached to the extreme. Though, not too sold on this idea of the Quran's "Miracle of Iron"

Far as I know there are many contradictions in Christianity even Christians did not understand !!

As i a non-Christian I really did not understand the Trinity??

because i believe it should be one god not three ??

Why are you wondering about other religions, and not focusing on Christianity, and understanding those things you simply don't? Won't that save your time a tad more?

I've nothing to say about other religions other than I don't believe in them obviously. Doesn't mean I don't know anything about other religions, I know more than you probably do...

Why would we accept to leave Christ for another *religion*, that's definitely not the place to offer that, this site called "TalkJesus" not TalkReligion.

We don't worship *3* gods like you say, trinity is a different word from 3 gods. The sun gives heat, light and energy, but it's all one, can you understand something this simple?

first, christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship with God, yes there are things in the bible i do not understand, but i will never go back to what the world has to offer. all other religions differ from christianity in one aspect, we have a savior in Jesus Christ, he says we cannot come before a Holy God in our sinful state, but because of His death on the cross, and being raised from the dead i now have access to God. there is no other name given on earth that we may find salvation in but Jesus Christ, i will ask you do do one thing, and do it honestly, read thee gospel the gospel of John, and ask God to speak to you. i pray that God will, if you are on this web sight, it is not by accident, i believe you were lead here. i hope you will come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and his great love for you.

Some aspects of Christianity are accepted by Faith.

Three persons in one God is beyond human comprehension.

Miracles are beyond our ability to explain, we accept by faith.

When Jesus rose from death, we accept by faith.

Did these events happen, of course they did. Jesus satisfied many Old Testament prophecies. These prophecies were detailed, only Jesus could have satisfied these. In these prophecies the Messiah is called the King of Israel. This King is God.

do you believe that Jesus was born of a virgin,? if so who is his father? if he was not born of man and women. if God is his father, would that not make him the son of God? if please explain how his birth came, if he is not who he said he was, then who is he? jesus died for 4 the human race,it is funny after nearly 2000 years the debate of Jesus go on, why is the name of jesus so reviled and hated. no one who prays to any other so called god is attacked, only the followers of Jesus, and whom i am one. may God open your eyes and ears to the truth.

The messiah is predicted in the Old Testament. Our information in these messianic prophecies tells us what the messiah will be. Jesus arrived and fulfilled these prophecies, this is God at work. This is God's golden guarantee, the messiah must fulfill these prophecies.

Whatever religion you are involved in, is seriously in error. What text do you use to derive your viewpoint?

I don't think that's particularly accurate, Smitty. Most religions are attacked either by other religions or other people.

To answer your question though, Meme, if you want to change my beliefs you're going to have to provide really good evidence for me to believe what you believe.

Hi meme,fact, to believe in God,one has to believe in his Word,now without giving you any scripture whatsoever to support my views,ask yourself this question.Only Jesus rose from the dead,no one else did,this alone make him not a God,but THE GOD the ONE the only! Only God could rise from the dead.Since we know this to be true,we also know that his Word is true,because the Bible is alive because its author is as well.Hope this gives you something to consider.

Not to split hairs, but there's a rather glaring difference between endorsing the murder of a member of an opposing religion, and a secular government trying - in what way it thinks best - to protect its citizens. There's nothing that says Christmas must have Jesus in a public setting; Japan and Hong Kong celebrate the idea of Christmas, despite having few Christians, in a secular way. Though, I suppose this isn't the place for this type of conversation. I would gladly discuss the issue via PM though.

Vilified? No, not really. A good number are vilified, but the reasons extend deeper than simply being a Christian. For instance, Ted Haggard isn't vilified for being an Evangelical; he's vilified for flagrant hypocrisy and using the idea of a tithe for his own financial gain.

In any case, most - if not all - people of any faith are attacked by others. I don't believe I ever said that Christians aren't attacked; I only said that most people of faith are attacked for their faiths by one group or another.
