Pets in the bed

Is it wrong to have pets like cats or dogs sleep next to you at night? My little Dog likes to sleep right at my side, at my feet.

Lots of people have a pet in the same bed at night. Maybe at the foot of the bed. Or even beside them. Cats and dogs Do have their personalities. It can be humorous.

Maybe the concern would be -- is there beastiality involved. And That would be totally wrong.

Okay I gotcha!
As long as there is no gross stuff happening then its okay!

It helps me but its not necessarily something I need to live... I just need someone to sleep next to...
But like I said I just hug my Doberman.

Be careful to not place more value on animals than humans (which I see quite often), dont become one of those women with 20 cats roaming around, and hates people. But dog pets see us as part of the pack, the pack leader actually. And pack animals sleep together, giving them a sense of safety found in numbers. Its okay, letting them sleep on the bed, as long as you dont begin to value the animals more than the humans that God calls us to fellowship with.

If you're married, I'd say no. Let them stay at the foot of the bed on their own bed.
Now, if you're like me that has to sleep on the floor when my back goes out, then it's a different story! You're in their territory then!
Now my wife won't join me on the floor to sleep when my back went out, so my dog for some odd reason could sense that something was wrong, would lay next to me with her back against my back. The heat generated I guess, would actually make my back better!!! It was like she knew exactly where I was hurting!

Told my wife what the dog would do, and suggested she could do the same but sadly she said "I'm not the dog" LOL

Enjoy their company while you can. Sadly, their lives are shorter than our own.

We Christians are a peculiar people aren't we? We worry about such funny things....no it's not wrong...God gave us pets as a protection, comfort, companionship, all sorts of good reasons. He gave us good pets too

Well I don't know what to say. Well if I had a wife I would be happy just having them for warmth. But that's not the case my friend.

Sadly, the little critter has passed away after 16 years, and now that my wife is in a wheel chair, my options are even more limited!
Still, I'm never alone in the Lord my Brother!

Years ago -- my husband and I were asked to cat-sit for a couple of weeks. They said it wasn't an outdoor cat. But they also had 5 kids at the time and someone was always up and paying attention to that cat. And That's where the problem developed. We were only two of us and We like to Sleep at night. For some reason that cat Slept during the day -- it would hide. And when We were ready to go to bed -- we'd close our door so kitty-cat couldn't come in. Well -- 'it' did Not like that. 'It' wanted attention. To socialize. 'It' would scratch at the door until we opened it up and then be in the middle of the bed. Not at the Foot of the bed , but between us. Then it would do it's Loud Purring thing and keep me awake. Then, after a while -- they decided that we could keep the cat. Well -- we didn't Want the cat. We finally found a different owner. And That was the last cat we had for quite a long time.

The Next one we were given was a kitten -- a black kitten. But a very sociable one. And indoor/outdoor one. She was a Smart cat. She was the Owner of our house and let us know she was. We had a recliner that I'd sit on and put way back. She would climb up on it on top of me and and lay down on my chest and we'd rub noses. Well -- she'd get nose to nose literally -- She'd stay that way until I"d move her. She got mad at us one cold winter night and ran away. There had been another kitten who'd found our house and we started feeding it. Our cat got jealous and left.

Our little cat comes to me every single evening just before I go to bed. She sits with me purring like a little motor...cuddling and licking my fingers. I find she relaxes me big time. My daughters big Chesapeak dog sits close to me a lot too, as though she knows what's happening to me. Pets can be,such a blessing. This dog is a natural born support doggy. Too excitable to be a service dog but a super support dog.
Today I also got a dragon...I have a time spelling properly and often lose my words...No no no! LOL I'm talking about a voice dictation program, not a real dragon. Sorry. I had to do a gotcha on you. I can put on the mic and as fast as I can speak the program will type. As it learns the way I speak it has about a 98 percent accuracy rate. Aren't pets great?

At the risko of offending, Brad, your reasoning is seriously flawed...Its bad because it has a name? So tell me, do you use a cell phone? Do you use a computer? How about a smart tv? All are now capable of tracking you, watching you and listening to every word you say. Should you throw them out? They are far less trustworthy than a word dictation program....
and again....You could be surrounded by every demon on the planet and ...wait! You ARE surrounded by every demon on the planet! But if you are a born again Christian, if you are walking with the Lord, where you are supposed to be, then YOU have the authority. You have all the say as to what goes on. They have none. Did you know that demons CAN inhabit technology? Liike cell phones and computers?
