If one so says, to the best of his knowledge and belief, that he is correct; He also, by doing so, is saying that all others are wrong.
Very true. The implications of that observation leads to the fact that for anyone to state that they know God's intent for all men simply on the basis of Adam's having been given one wife, even though they have no other backing for establishing such an assumption as fact, they're basically saying that, irregardless of any evidence, anyone who disagrees with them are wrong.....and on what basis?
Think about it: To what level are some people willing to stoop in order to enforce a belief based purely upon inuendo?
In the face of a complete lack of any declaration from the Lord, "All men shalt have only one wife, as Adam had only one wife," there are people willing to defend the monogamy-only dogma for all men upon no basis of evidence whatsoever. There's a word for that. It's called narcissism. It's similar to the defense homosexuals use when demanding that so long as they love one another, God can't possibly have a problem with their affections....after all, the Lord was addressing only the prostitutional aspect of homosexual activity, not genuine love itself (as if they were ever capable of such love for one anoter).
No genuine Christian would ever let them get away with such terrible appologetics, and yet some turn right around and use the same tactics in defense of a dogma as if the popularity of the belief were sufficient evidence in their favor.
