That I know and have been blogging for quite some time.
It is unfortunate however that many here on TJ take sides and sincerely believe that there are good nations and evil nations.
By worldly systems of governments and culture some nations are preferable to dwell in as opposed to some others.
But spiritually all nations and the whole world is wicked and un-Godly.
Of special condemnation are those nations that like Israel of old who had received the oracles of God and the gospel of righteousness and have now turned away from the God of salvation and now embrace every evil
under the Sun.
The various alliances of nations we see happening in the world today are a direct response to the ending of the current hegemonic Western rule with its colonialism of the "global south."
The geo-politics unfolding today is the means by which our Lord and God shall gather all the nations to that ultimate finale - Armageddon.
Which begs the question as to what does Israel and the Jews do to so inflame the world that they all gather together to come down upon this tiny nation ??
The current extremist government of Netanyahu that is ultra pro settlers gives us a clue as to what might happen.

I remember clearly a spoken prophecy in the operation of the voice gifts at a service meeting many years ago in which God said (I paraphrase the content)
"This world will burn and the elements melt and everything in it will be consumed. The only thing that I will redeem out of this world is the souls of men."

Actually pretty well all nations have ruling elites (with various types of dictatorships) who do not care about the welfare of their own people.
Seen some pretty horrific videos of late on the enormous problems and numbers of homeless people in America and the poverty and squalour that is rife.
Ruling elites insulate themselves from the social and economic pain they inflict on everyday ordinary people of a nation.
They have walls and guards around their various homes and other houses.

It is a complex history
God is the ultimate chess player when it comes to geopolitics - strategic placement of nations, resources and geography.
I am thinking of the Straits of Hormuz as one example of strategic conflict.
All these geopolitical conflicts will be the means by which God gathers the nations together to descend upon the nation of Israel.
But this also begs the question as to what does Israel do in order to bring the whole world against Israel and Jerusalem??

I am aware of the many sermons, videos, blogs and prophecies concerning Ezekiel 38 and Gog and Magog.
This is highly controversial and contentious and therefore generates the numerous never ending claims as to Russia being the culprit - the evil nation that forms a confederation of nations to come down upon Israel
and cause massive death and destruction.
I believe a lot of people read into the scripture what they want to believe first and make the verses fit the narrative.
Meshech - Moscow. Tubal - Tobolsk.
That is totally fanciful and Ezekiel 38 does not refer to peoples of particular cities that did not exist in the time of Ezekiel. The prophecy is against people who occupy lands and already exist when Ezekiel
is told to prophecy against them.
When scripture refers to the north does this mean the global north or simply north in the known world of Bible nations and lands??
Ezekiel 38:2 “Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him
3 and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
Some translations incorrectly contain - "the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal" - but that is bad reading of the Hebrew.
So then people claim that Rosh identifies Russia. BUT Russia did not exist in any shape or form at the time of Ezekiel in the 6th century before Christ.
On the other hand Meshech and Tubal are places in Asia Minor now known as Türkiye.
It is equally possible that Gog of Magog could be Türkiye - President Erdogan is a skilfull geopolitical playing straddling the West (NATO), the Caucasus nations and Assyria.

Ezekiel 38:6 Gomer and all his hordes; Beth-togarmah from the uttermost parts of the north with all his hordes—many peoples are with you.
And who exactly are these nations??

Does Prophecy make the conditions by which it is fulfilled by humanity or does the actions of humanity create the conditions by which prophecy is fulfilled and God knew this?

There is always hope in prayer my brother, and the turning of the ungodly towards Christ Jesus. Do, I believe in humanity to do this? No, but God yes, if as Scripture says If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV who are on all sides of this and suffering for it as well.

I guess you could say that your "news" is a method by which the eyes of others may be opened so that by which they may truly turn in humility to God seeking His Face. Otherwise, the why makes no difference, because in this, History won't be repeated.

I love these verses. At the same time God is managing the vastness of the cosmos and caring for the most vulnerable and overlooked person. No doubt he has his eye on every person in Ukraine whose home or family has been destroyed in this war.
