Question about beer (seriously)

@Shutterbug your post is AWESOME!!! BE HARSH!!! Never ever conform to what people assume/think/believe/feel. It's nothing more than an opinion NOT Jesus (The truth).

I am 50/50 when you say :"Some younger Christians are former alcoholics. Well, they will always be alcoholics." I heard that similar statement from someone in AA. I never went to AA but I lived as a raging drunk. I feel calling me a simple alcoholic is putting it lightly. But none the less, since I've became a Christian I have to view myself as Jesus does now. I am no longer a drunk PRAISE GOD!!! No longer a liar, cheat or the like. All glory to God.

You see, when we come to God crawling crying & clawing to get closer to the truth he washes us clean. Isaiah1:18 says it all that I speak here. If we see ourselves as we did before accepting God as the one & only savior & hand our lives over to him we can no longer call ourselves what we were yesterday. He washed us, we can no longer call clean clothes dirty once they come out of the dryer.

God bless you beyond blessings Shutterbug! Your words are truth Gods truth!!!!!

Some younger Christians are former alcoholics. Well, they will always be alcoholics. It's just that God has taken away their desire to need alcohol and they wisely avoid consuming it to restart their old lifestyle.

For the record, wine is typically stronger than beer, and the question asked does not concern strong liquor. Most coolers are a bit stronger than beer. One would have to be delusional to think that Jesus made the wine at Cana purely for personal sport. I'm not even remotely suggesting anybody purchase the largest, strongest bottle or case of alcoholic beverage they can afford and carry. If God gave us brains to get to the Moon, I'm sure he gave us the ability to understand there is a difference between having a wee dram and consuming the entire keg. Those who don't have the ability to exercise reason and restraint are already alcoholics or can no longer think for themselves even when sober.

All the OP asked was if he could enjoy a glass of near beer on a hot summer day. If he had meant real beer or whiskey, rum, vodka, or wine, he would have said so. I've already had a difficult day dealing with people who drop hints public hints about situations, yet I'm told that I can't discuss it. Maybe, I should avoid people altogether as it seems I no longer fit in. If I misunderstood your comments, I apologize for sounding a bit harsh.
Two points.....First
My post was to demonstrate that God Himself gave permission to consume alcohol so its not a sin....
Second point. Why fit in? You were made to stand out!

The devil knows our weaknesses and uses them against us. Try praising God and giving thanks every time you get the desire to drink any kind of beer. you can be sure your urges will lessen. They may not stop but God will be pleased with you. I am tempted by cigars even though I haven't smoked for 40 years. Wish I never did!

Be of a sober mind; don't over indulge. All things can be used for evil if used unwisely.

I like a cold XX Amber sometimes too. It is a blessing after a hot sweat filled day.

If a beer is a weakness to you and the people of your old life is tempting you with your known weakness, pray for them, they are going to need it.

As a new believer there are some steps you should take. Profess your new life, turn away from the old life, not looking back, and go forth in the new man God is creating.
Forsaking the old and what's behind, and grab ahold of the new. Amen
Seek your treasures in heaven, where your treasure is there will be your heart also. Amen
