Interesting and important topic. The problem with Intelligent Discussion is the truth that none of us know enough to expound without moving away from the center of this topic. And then there are so many in the "It's not my job" catagory that are honest and they stand firm there. We cannot teach them that to be Christ-like we must go to the Lost, wherever we are.

Just to add my $.02, when I read Dembski, Behe, and others, I think many accept an Old World Creationist model. This means they are among the group of us who view Genesis 1-11 as not to be taken literally. One of the reasons for this is the age of the documents involved that the Lord motivated Moses to collect and include (the Creation/Making story, the book of the generations of Adam, the book of the generations of Noah, etc.). There are a number of distinctions that divide the YEC and OEC camps, but studying the cognate roots of the words used in Genesis 1 and 2 makes all the difference in how we see its meaning.
For example, before Elohim creates the earth with rotates before a Sun, a 24 hour day cannot be measured and likewise until there is a Human to count the time in this way, it means that up until that time a day (or Yom) is from the Lord's perspective and a day unto the Lord is as 1000 years unto man. Secondly in that regard as we read the whole Bible we see two additional facts.
Another factor is that Moses (who wrote these down in the Hebrew), i.e., the same author, uses Yom (tr4anslatewd "day") in multiple ways. Yes he uses it as a 24 hour period but also as a non-descript period of time, a season, and so on. We have some equivalents in Modern English, like if I said, "remember the day we went to the ballpark?" I am obviously NOT speaking of us being there for an entire 24 hour period!
The other being what that which is mentioned above. For the ancient Hebrews, most of whom could not even read let alone write, 1000 was the highest counting number they would perceive. The majority could not even comprehend the thought od million or billions/. That is all through the Scriptures we hear of many thousands or 10,000 x 10,000, etc.

That is another reason they are not concern about reading the whole Book, they can do with out it, reading the whole BOOK, they do not need too! All is well with them eternity and all. They are well Bless too! They will not have to "RULE with A IRON ROD" they will not have to SHARE that RULE with CHRIST. But they will be happy living in The KINGDOM of GOD. And every time i go back, no matter what state or what color or denomination! from the out house to Jewish, JAPANESE, Methodist, SpanIards, Pentecostals, Baptist, Southern Baptist, WALMART, KROGERS, I telling the TRUTH! LOL, One Time A GUY told ME to "SHUT the F up" and take it the CHURCH! Them I "TUNE UP" with one of THOSE "Black SPIRITUAL" songs my Mama taught me, game over. I was went to a "Prison" one time. It must have been over thousands prisoners there. they were cursing loud, saying ever word in the "Sailors book", that place had a "acoustic" sound. I could not take it anymore. I know, no one will read my Book. because most likely one would need a dictionary and Patience to read it. And I don't blame, them, And i keep it to my self, And many did know I could write like that. Even my family! everybody said" "YOU WROTE THIS" How did you learn to write like this? I learn how to write Christian Legal Writings, with no editor, or a ghost writer. Christian writings come under certain laws than regular book writings.
So all of those christians book we are reading are not wrote by the name on the cover! TD JAKES, JOEL OSTEEN ,JOYCE MEYER and ..etc
They do not know how to write christian materials! You would not believe what it takes to write a book "pertaining" to Christian thought materials.
They cannot write a christian base book on their best day! or begin to,
Christian writings have different laws, and you get sued quick, You can get sued for quoting "Scripture", translations and every time you quoting, you must show document it and what bible and the publisher of that bible with permission every time you Quoted it. You cannot even use the word "HOLY SCRIPTURE" Holy scripture is define as any kind of religious writings no matter what religion it is, And The Christian faith has 100's of "scripture" writings. and you have to careful how you use every term.
If any think I am lying pick up a "Christian Writers Style Manuel" after you study it for about six mouths, you might be able to write. And if you decide to pay a "editor", believe me, you are going to need about 4 editors. four different kinds. And pay top dollar just for "editors"!
I did my own. "GRAMMAR, SPELLING, TEXUAL STYLE, Research to check for errors, Research for Plagiarism, document every quote of The Bible and every publisher of that "VERSE" You cannot quote anyone unless you have permission, Then you must get a Publisher, and they will check to see if you have done the ground work. and you going to pay, Unless they think it is a good "MANUSCRIPT" I had "THOMAS NELSON". and they set me up in their writers program and all kinds of classes to write and in their writers clubs.

I use to read about five different books a week as much as from 300- 700 pages long books. "Biographies" and Church histories from ROME, SPAIN, ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, GERMANY, all of the POPES, the church fathers, and their QUEENS, and KINGS. I enjoyed it. Some people like sports, I liked readings about those old Puritans, Huss, Knox, Bunyan, Whitefield, EDWARS.

I thought it was a good topic. There are a few different views held by Bible believing Christians and I thought there would be more discussion. So good try. It is possible to somewhat ignore one another and focus on the topic issues. Prayers for you as well Medico! Be blessed

actually no you did not, nor did I expect you to, your conduct speaks volumes. But here is the word of God that should be on our hearts and minds at all times. It is deeply reflected in all of our posts,, those who obey it and those who do not.
If we all thought about this including me before we posted we would bring glory to God, sadly I rarely see it on hear, but I rejoice when I do see it, seems pretty clear by our posting who and who does not want to give true glory to God by obeying his word. Father God forgive me for posting on here sometimes out of pride and selfishness.

Why do you feel this way? Each of God's actual children (and yes some are deceived) are at a different place on the Journey and at a different level of understanding. You and I may not agree on every matter but perhaps the areas we differ on have to do with our level or how we have been taught. But most who simply read the Book and allow the Spirit to lead them and guide them into all truth eventually see the essential purpose and truth it contains. Some hold Genesis 1 as speaking of 6 24 hour days while others not. Some take "this IS my body" in a wooden literal sense and others not. But we both believe in the one and only God and in Jesus the Messiah whom He has sent and the eternal value of His redemptive work on the cross. So are threse other matter essential? Does any human this side of Glory fully know Him as of yet? I think not. But the two greatest of commandments are not just for Jewish people or those of the Old Covenant but for us all (especially those of the New). Hang in there and trust Him and hold to and defend your view until such time as you cannot deny another perspective and then change to line up with the truth. This is all we can do personally and in the mean time be as kind and compassionate to others as you are able. God sees and He knows them that are His (and not all who claim to be are).

Even for one that is fully His, requires temperance or in other words self-restraint when it comes to the how one deals with presenting the Word that has been laid upon our Spirit to share at any given time with others.
It can appear to be a paradox at times, without feeling that one has acquiesced to the dark by doing so. We still temper our learnings so that they become uplifting and not overwhelming to others. Are any two of us alike? We don't always eat meat or drink milk, and some require a combination until some as yet undetermined time. So, we must keep in mind that we are the Body of Christ, not the entirety of it, just a part. Seeking that which is beneficial to the other parts, that in unity, though differing in many other aspects, are still able to function by our contributions to the whole in a way that Glorifies God!
Allow for the Spirit of God to move another to where He wants them to be, with the understanding that is God given. Sharing it with a compassion that is needed by some, while still being able to be uncompromising in the truth. For we know that many will accept a lie because it is more palatable to them and reject a truth because it disagrees with them. As with Salvation, we can but allow ourselves to be the vessel by which another may receive of which God desires for them to receive and not what we believe it should be. You could so easily be presenting to one specific audience, when another unintended by us to receive, does receive it in passing and is blessed by what is rejected by the many.
Yet, in all of it that we may present and comport ourselves in such a fashion that is reflective of the Love our God has for us. Above even the message we believe is needed by those we communicate with. For even as the words "we" have spoken fade away, the love we have shared them with, will still remain as a reminder of something greater than all of us. Which is God Himself! Alleluia!
