hi guys
I need your help.
I'm in a financial crisis I'm currently claiming benefits off the goverment called : job seekers allowance. and to making matters worst I'm in deep debt . but I have a debt managment company dealing with my debt. however all the stress of trying to find a job and my debts talking about taking me to court is getting depressed . I suffer from depression
and I've just in 2 minds to take my own life. ok I know thats not showing how much I trusted in jesus at all . but the way my life is going I just don't see why I should continue. ok I know jesus cares deeply about me , but everyday of my life is just become inpossible to live. I just don't know what to do anymore and I don't see a future anymore. I want to live right , I want to make jesus happy , but I feel like I fail everyday. I'm so sorry so go and on , but I just need help.

Ask the Lord to take away your debt and believe for it. I don't care how bad things appear. The Lord can fix any situation but you need to believe for it. My advice is what the Lord would tell you, cast all your cares on Him. Let Him worry about how He's going to do it. We serve a Lord that LOVES when we ask Him for big things! You're a covenant child like me and you have the same rights as me. Start believing and cut this nonsense out of your mind about suicide. Reject those thoughts from the enemy. I'm serious. God will get you out of any situation, even if its your own making. Its time to exercise some faith brother.

I've been that low before, that I couldn't see the point in living. If Jesus Christ is Lord of your life, then He is in control of it ! You have to let Him. You do this by casting all your cares upon Him. You have to learn to do this, by talking to Him about every single care you have in your life. Nothing is impossible to God, He made the Universe ! Try and show mercy to others. Jesus said, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy". It's such a simple biblical principle, but it works !!

I have got myself into trouble many times, but God has delivered me. Btw, I suffer from depression too.

I'll pray for you.

Hi forChrist,

Suicide seems like the only way out sometimes when we are focused on the swirling seas around us rather than on Christ, but that isn’t the way to go, this much I do know. Nor is what you are feeling right now ‘nonsense’ because it’s real and the only way out of the pain and suffering seems to be suicide. But suicide is only the beginning of troubles and also one of the most selfish and self centered things a person can do.

Selfish? I asked that question also. Yes very. Suicide gives no thought or concern what so ever for the ones left behind, those who have loved us in life. These who will have to find a way to go on without us and others who could have been helped because of our pain and willingness to get past the swirling seas will suffer because of our selfishness to end it all.

Someone once said that if we all put our problems in the middle of a circle and could pick up any one that we wanted, chances are we would pick up our own rather than someone else’s.

Your creditors can take you to court and the court will just tell you that you owe the creditors, something you already know. The debt management company should be able to help with the creditors and keep them at bay for a while along with getting payments arranged to where you can make it through.

The part that I see is the worry. God knows what we are in need of and will not let us down, however, He is not a sugar daddy god who gives everything that we want like some would have you believe. There are many times He tests our faith, to help us see where we must be with Him. Sometimes that is staying obedient to Him while waiting for a job or cutting things out of our lives that are unneeded so that expenses are not so high etc etc. Other times more horrendous salutations.

We are to examine our selves as well as those who call themselves men and women of God (1 Cor 3:13; 2 Cor 2:9; 2Cor 13:5; Rev 2:2, John 6:6) and fellowship with other believers.

Each day of your life has become impossible to live, you say; and in the dark valley you find yourself today, it very well appear that way, but it isn’t. He has not left you. You don’t see a future, that is a start because anything in the future is not ours to see or know anyway.

I had a wonderful cleaning business and I was so busy; too busy for God’s word and He (thankfully) took my health to slow me down. I had a nice retirement planned out that my ex and his girlfriend took along with them. None of this matters now, but it sure did when I could not see past the shadows and ruts in the road.

Remember, every failure is only one rung on the ladder to success. Learning from each failure, each test brings you higher on that ladder and closer to Him.

Being content with where you are is something I had to learn as well. I don’t think I was too content when everything seemed ok, just that it was not going my way is all. Now, with nothing, being content has brightened the days and brought His mercy and grace into view.

One of the greatest ways I’ve found to get out of depression is first to see if there was someone I had not forgiven for something. Something I maybe held a grudge toward or had become bitter toward. Then asking God to help me forgive them if I truly could not at the time and asking Him to forgive my bitterness.

The second antidepressant I’ve found that works better than any little happy pill is to help someone in need. Believe me, they will be there when either you need to help someone or they need your help most. This is one of the greatest mood lifters I know.

Sorry but God didn't take your health to slow you down. He's not evil and He doesn't steal, kill and destroy. And to suggest that to another Christian who is even toying with the idea of suicide is just plain wrong. You decided to embrace your illneses rather than reject it like so many do and then suggest its some love token from God. Maybe you should have given your body a rest rather than try to give the OP the impression that God is showing you His incredible love by making you sick.

God will get you out of any mess, regardless if you are responsible for it, if you believe for it. You obviously don't believe that because you have a warped view of God, given you credit God with robbing you of your health.

Op don't worry about how God is going to do it. I'd put my nose in the carpet and tell the Lord, listen I'm in a mess here Lord and I need you to help me. He's done it for plenty of people. Everyone screws up sometimes and there's nothing wrong with asking God for help. Unlearned people like to suggest that God is leading people into all kinds of messes and He certainly is not. The Good Shepherd does not lead you to the edge of the cliff or to the valley of the shadow of death. We end up in those places because we aren't following. Jesus is not sadistic.

How many people even ask the Lord if they should start this business or do that thing or buy this thing? Many, many, many people are getting into all kinds of problems because they are not being led by the Spirit. What God will show you by getting you out of your mess is that you need to be led by the Spirit. The Lord got me out of a huge financial mess before and He's done it for so many Christians who trusted Him to do it. He's your loving Father, not your diabolical Father who wants to see you suffer to a bitter end. A loving Father helps His child. That's who Abba is. We're not servants from the OT, we're covenant children. We serve a great big God who wants us to believe Him for big things. How big is your faith? The Lord can fix anything and He will always pull you out of your pit. I'm not saying you're guaranteed a 24hr miracle but sometimes you get a 24 month miracle. Your job is to cast these cares on Him and believe Him and rest knowing that He will fix the problem. Your faith doesn't have to be perfect. You just need a mustard seed of faith. I'm sure you can bring that to the Lord. Exercise that faith and don't let the people of the world tell you it can't be done FOR YOU!

FYI, if you are looking to believe God for any area of your life...never take the advice of someone who believes that God makes you sick to get your attention or to teach you something or that God won't help you when you need to be pulled out of a pit. Those are not scriptural beliefs and those who believe that assassinate God's character and portray Him as a child abuser.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER let anyone tell you that as a covenant child the Lord will not meet your needs. The Lord keeps His covenant. Many Christians talk about covenant like its equivalent to a lease on a car. Jesus will help you!

I’m sorry you see God as a child abuser but I don’t. I accept the consequence of my sin and if He chooses to heal me He will, if not He won’t. David is a good example of that when he lost his first born due to his sin.

Have you ever attempted suicide?

You have enough truth in your FYI to make it almost believable. God does help pull a person out of a pit when they call and sometimes even when they dont.

MAN! After I read Sun's reply, I was feeling a lot better, but then I read your reply to her reply. lol

The faith you need to have is that God cares about you and your situation, even though you have screwed things up. I feel like Sun was right, you need to have the faith to believe that God is going to turn something bad into something good. And sometimes He will do anything to get your attention. Perhap's Sun's physical sickness would have come anyway, but God chose to turn it into something positive. And she slowed down because of it, and thereby built her faith. Because she is contented now, is proof that she is trusting God. She isn't going around all droopy because she once had money, but does not have it at this time.

You can always bless people without having prosperity. You can go to a nursing home with no money and visit with the bed ridden, lonely people. You can take your grandbaby with you and let these lonely people have the pleasure of holding her and uplift their spirits. There are so many things you can do for others that don't take being rich. God is our provider. I'd rather be a poor but contented soul than a rich, bored one, watching to see what God will bless me with next. Aren't you supposed to show God you can be trusted with little before He will entrust you with much?

You can't just tell someone who is depressed and deep in debt to "have faith. God will get you out." Prayer will help, yes, but the one thing Sun said was that the collectors may take you to court and tell you about all the money you owe. But what's new? What you got yourself into, God will help you get out of, but faith without works is dead.

Sorry, bro, didn't mean this to be mean spirited. Hope you don't take it that way. I just was sharing my feelings after reading the two replies. How they made me feel. I thought Sun had some practical AND spiritual wisdom.

For Christ, I hope you will reply with how you feel now. Certainly didn't mean to take over your thread.

Thank you for your post, but all praise goes to Him alone. It warms my heart for others to see all that God has done not only in my life but that of others.

It has been a very strong belief of mine, because of all God's gotten me through, that one person can not remotely understand what another goes through unless they themselves have walked that same path.

thanks for your reply.
you said in your post that you don't care how bad things are .......... well if you don't care at all , then I advice you to leave me alone . I've got enough as it is ............ I came here for advice and not to have
careless people to tell me that is going to get worst................. sigh that the problum no one understand what is like to have depression ......... it seem like it too much to ask for some advice , I'm so sorry I posted this and I'm so sorry no one can help me .

I didn't say "I don't care how bad things are for you so I don't care about your predicament." I indicated that I don't care how bad things are, God can move mountains to get you out of your mess if you ask Him for help and believe Him for it. That's all. Listen brother please don't give me the "no one understands depression" quip. I've been through it myself having my eyes destroyed by a disease but you know what, I've believed God for perfect eyes and I've been recovering day by day when doctors said it would not be possible. I gave you excellent advice. Learn to believe and trust God. You have a covenant with Him through the Lord Jesus Christ. If I can believe for the healing of two damaged eyes what makes your financial situation that special, that unique that God won't help you with it? I'm not going to join in your pity party and encourage you to wallow in your problems and point you anywhere but to the Lord's bold promises in the Bible. God is not your problem. He is your solution. If you're a Christian what other advice do you expect from a Christian who knows what its like to have the enemy rob from him? Worldy advice to solve financial problems is available anywhere. God is merciful and He has great compassion and He will help you fix this problem. So what other advice are you expecting to hear from a Christian? Go kill yourself and the problems will be over? I'm not into helping Christians feel sorry for themselves. Been there and done that. It stinks and it just pushes you deeper into a depression and no Christian should be helping you feel sorry for yourself. I would believe God for it. If I can believe for new eyes and see the results well you can do the same for your debt. What's harder, believing for two new eyes or having your debt problems fixed? See what I mean. Trust me I have walked in your shoes and I'm giving you the best advice a Christian can give you. The last thing you want to do is stress yourself out with this situation and have your health affected.

When I answered this post I wanted to make sure I got the positive remarks at the top.

You do give a tidbit of good advice at the end when you say, ‘The last thing you want to do is stress yourself out with this situation and have your health affected.” Even though there were no suggestions to get past the stress.

However, it seems the more you try to explain your 'I don't care' statement; the more it sounds like you really don't care; at least with that little word ‘quip’ in there along with other little aspects of superiority. Far from ‘bearing one another’s burdens” (Gal 6) wouldn’t you say?

poor physical health is often consequence of worry and stress. This site How Does Depression Affect My Physical Health? gives a secular description of depression effecting physical health.

Or you can have pure joy no matter what the situation or circumstance through Christ.

Kind of like the two people who go into a cow pasture. The one can’t see the cow pies for all the flowers and green grass and the other can’t see the flowers and green grass because of the pile they stand in.

To get to the point of seeing the flowers and green grass past all the cow pies takes a bit of practice in each situation and circumstance that threatens to destroy. But it is doable.

How? The memories we have of good times that bring a smile, His word that brings comfort, the knowledge that He is forever with us through all the good and the bad.

Sometimes our predicaments are of our own making and He is teaching a lesson for later down the line. (ie watch spending, or if that is not the case, “trust Me’ through it all) Sometimes our situation is not of our own making but because of the destruction of others (murder of a loved one) This also He teaches valuable lessons. Forgiveness for one and obedience to Him for another.

How about you just worry about your remarks and I'll worry about mine. Because on the internet its very easy for people to take things the wrong way when they weren't meant to be taken the wrong way. And then some people like yourself, like to make things out to be more than they were because your only motivation is to instigate and "fan the flames." Who cares if I used the word "quip" when I clarified my statements and explained in quite some detail that I have walked in this brother's shoes. Here's some advice for you, go learn that God doesn't make people sick and that He doesn't lead people to their destruction and that He's always your solution and not your problem. God does not rob people of their health, He doesn't rob them of their money and He certainly does not lead them to their destruction as so many Christians go around telling those that are finding themselves in these struggles.

I stand corrected. God didn't 'take' my health to slow me down.... He allowed poor health which slowed me down. Kind of like Job when Satan was allowed to take everything from Job even his health. But then again, maybe He did take my good health like He did Saul’s sight on the Damascus Road. Either way, God only gets the glory for building my faith in Him.

I'm not sure where you get that I say that God is my problem when all I've said is He is my constant help in time of trouble. He has taught to be content in much and to be content in very little. And I suppose, being all powerful that He is, He could take all my riches and leave me nothing when I miserly grab all I can get and say mine mine mine or He could just let me try to squeeze through the eye of a needle.

Also, not once have I stated that God leads us to destruction. I’m not sure where you got that one from but if you could enlighten me on that I would be much appreciative. You might want to reread some of my previous posts if this is what you got out of what I wrote.

I see that you still have not answered my question. Have you ever attempted suicide?

And just a little note....and I really hope you are not one who can not take correction, but I will try anyway…….. this 'brother' whose shoes you have walked in..... is really a sister.

Please continue to get or seek medical help, don't give up on that.
I know that Jesus wants to help and none of us can say that won't begin through a Doctor.
Depression can be very serious and some forms can lead to a strong sense of hopelessness, which apparently you now have.

I have no way of knowing if Satin is involved in your situation but, I promise you he enjoys your predicament and he would love nothing more than you giving up. Don't give him the pleasure.

Please don't blame God, it just increases your feeling of being lost. I know it is hard right now but you must focus on him and start trying to understand that he loves you very much, as well as all of us here at TJ's.

God is very specific that in our weakness we find our strength. And our strength is in Him as he is in us. Have you ever accepted this gift of Grace and asked him to come into you and receive his healing.

I pray that you do my friend and please don't give up!
