Isn't odd, people say, I suffer from depression?? as if depression does not hit every single human being?? What Jesus never ever got depressed?? LOL Oh yes he sure did!! Check this out!! matt26:38 Then he said to them!! MY SOUL!! is deeply grieved!! and not just grieved!! TO the point of death!!!! SO!!! Bless God none of us are ever alone!! Depression in not to me a diease,it is a real live emotion all of us can have and feel!! Like your money problems have hit our household as well!! I am deeply grieved!! as are many of you!! There is no sin in this!! Every single person born has at one time or another been depressed!! It is no sin!! so do not let the enemy tell you OH!! you are weak!! NO!! we can get depressed!! NOW!! what to do?? What did our jesus do when he was depressed!! YEP!! amen!! PRAY! matt 26:38-46 Notice something here please! Jesus prayed until he got the assurance( or hope) he needed.That is what I am doing! Blessing to you!! What helps as you pray,and this is hard I know,work on your mind!! see yourself out of debt as I am presently doing,see that you can help others,see you are free. How do I know when this happenes one may ask?? because our Faith will become reality! And when this happenes no faith will be needed anymore! I will tell you all how i make out!! It is a battle!! I guess depression means he was over joyed?? if one becomes distressed, one is happy?? I know many say that depression is a diseanse,I never thought it was my self,because a diesease is something not everybodys gets? everone get distressed and depressed to me. just my thoughts. thanks

I agree. Jesus understands when we are depressed because He has been there, but He overcame it and He expects us to do that as well, depending on Him. It's not always an overnight thing though...

OH!! NOT mad at all!!! I am sorry you took the !!! as mad!! no not at all!! I really understand!! All I wanted to tell you,is that we care,and many of us,me included are facing the same problem. Please do not look at the !!! as meaning any kind of any attack,for it was not meant that way at all. Nearly everyone has moments of depression, especially when we're being selfish or have had something very sad happen. But, depression can also be caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain.

I equate depression with feelings of hopelessness. The medical establishment equates depression with sadness beyond objective reason. So, if your mom dies, your grieving is not technically depression, but it may contribute to depression.

I need your help.

It's hard to give practical advice for financial problems without knowing details. But, except for homeless people, I've never met anyone who couldn't cut their cost of living. And, you may have to pay dues, financial stress, for past mistakes, but it beats being in prison for past crimes.

It gets better.

Nothing is forever.

Just choose to continuing doing what is right and keeping your mind on God, and it will make your situation more bearable.

I think the Christian church has failed terribly in supporting Christians in need. The first century church shared all that they had so no one was in need. It's a ridiculous situation that any Christian brother goes hungry or lonely. (I could explain the cause of the problem, but if my explanation were welcome, there wouldn't be a need of an explanation.)

For the book of Job (a perfect example of what GOD does and what he allows), God allowed Satan to attack Job in man areas of his life including family, financial, wealth, etc. GOD Himself did not do it directly but allowed the destroyer (satan) to do it. Why? Job proved his faith towards GOD through the toughest trials you can imagine!

for christ...please understand that GOD is your Heavenly Father who is watching over you and providing for you abundantly. This could be a trial or even if its consequences for sin and/or mistakes, GOD still can fix that.

I'll pray with you------Father God, I join my heart with my brother hear who has asked for prayer----I ask on his behalf that you would touch him in a very special way that would enable him to be able to face tomorrow----I pray that the Holy Spirit would bring comfort to his heart, mind, nervous system and bring some calm in the midst of this storm---Lord please find a way to let him know how much you really do care for him even in the middle of all of these circumstances----Help him to find some brothers and sisters who will be patient with him and allow themselves to be vessels that you can love him through----He has humbled himself and asked openly for help----So we are all agreeing together for you to answer the cry of his heart----We want to thank you Father for the answers to our prayers as we are asking in the name of your son----In Jesus name amen.

Hi for Christ,

I've only just seen your thread but wanted to encourage you in your situation as I experience depression and have had bleak times.

Firstly, I hope you are managing to get Christian debt advice - near me there is also the Debt Advisory Bureau, which is Christian.

Secondly, antedepressants may give you a boost if your physical body is struggling.

Thirdly, have you got someone close to you, for example, in your church that you can trust and open up to about this situation? If you haven't yet, try praying for a prayer partner(s) or mentor - someone you can share your situation with, who you can build a relationship with and pray things through with on a regular basis.

Fourthly, I agree with Chad that this may be a test or it may be consequences of past actions - but God is faithful and this is an opportunity to draw close to Him - even if you are feeling yucky and despairing - you can share your thoughts and feelings with Him.

However, to keep things in perspective, there are always things to be thankful to God for and to praise Him for.

Also, if you are struggling to provide for yourself - try asking the Salvation Army for help. You can google them - they provide food help for those who are in difficult situations, and cheaper furniture etc.

Finally, there are people who you will be a blessing to - it may be that through experiencing this, you might be able to help, minister or encourage people in the future. You might find it helpful to meditate on scriptures about hope (do you have a concordance?) as well as drawing near to God in worship and prayer. If you would like to know key scriptures that might be helpful to meditate on let me know and I'll send some - I used to meditate on Neil Anderson's scriptures in Steps to Freedom and Ellel do a list too.

I hope this is of some help - I struggle with depression and am finding the current time of year difficult, but God is faithful - i think it is important to have close fellowship with other believers too.

At one of my darkest times I believe that the Lord just wanted me to worship.
