Taking a risk!

You didn't answer my question directly.
  • From what you answered above, I will assume that you pulled back from God and you did not totally reject his existence or complete unbelief.
  • "Falling Away" means Apostasy : Apostasy in Christianity refers to the rejection of Christianity.
  • Not the same as what happened to you.

RJ i will not engage in another conversation with you on apostasy due to how the last one turned out(which its odd you said before you didnt believe one would turn but now you are agreeing that apostasy exists). I know what I did and I turned from God however, My sin here is not important this thread is about rawprawn so lets stay on topic. I only offered insight to what I did as perhaps maybe it would have been useful.

  • Rawprawn is seeking the truth and I say it is pretty much on topic. Rawprawn should know that there is a doctrine that, If a person is truly saved , God will finish his promise to him: Philippians 1:6
  • He has your doctrine: A warning to him...watch out, you can loose it any time!
  • So it is good for Rawprawn to know an opposite doctrine of yours, that God loves him, wants him to have his grace and won't take back his free gift : Ephesians 2:8
  • Then Rawprawn can determine the truth for himself!

Thank you, RawPrawn, for being bold enough to step out. This is half the battle, the rest is the Lord's. Here is Christianity in a nutshell:

#1) Jesus died on the cross.
This is the blood atonement that covers our past sins, and our future sins as we confess them to Him as we walk with Him. This justifies us. Nothing on earth could justify us but Jesus' blood! This justification gets us full-access into Father God's throne room.

#2) Jesus rose again on the third day through resurrection power and life.
This resurrection power and life are now available to the believer. As we walk with Him, we need not struggle with our sins or our flesh. We spend time daily in His presence, we spend time daily in His Word, we spend time daily doing the simple, loving things He calls all His followers to do. When we do these things, we will be taken over by this resurrection power and life. This resurrection power and life is His very Spirit! Paul says, "Walk after the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh." When we daily do the spiritual things He teaches all His followers to do, the rest all falls into place.

If you have not considered praying in the Spirit or praying in tongues, ask Father God to give it to you. It builds you up and strengthens you for the battles we all face. I spend an hour a day praying in tongues and when the devil comes at me it's not nearly as powerful as when I only studied the word, prayed, and did the things He calls me to do in ministry. It's beautiful. You have a spirit person now in you, and that spirit is led by His Spirit. His Spirit has all power and authority over sin in your life. You're not alone in this. Jesus will deliver you! I pray He will reveal more of these truths to you. Go after God! Seek His face! He loves you so much. He is happy with you! Don't fear, only believe and go after God!

I cannot change myself. A leopard cannot change his own spots. So I really do not know what to do. The battle rages on :baffle:

In Alcoholics Anonymous we have a very profound declaration: "There is One who has all power. That one is God; may you find Him now." I learned long ago that I cannot change me. All by myself, I am self-centered, lazy and prideful (among other things). Changes came into my life through Him and they took time, lots of time.
