Matthew 24:14 is exactly an exhortation to faithfulness, it's a PROMISE, not a commandment, as most Christians assume. This is no speculation, but awareness of the end. Because of all these false alarms from these doomsayers like the kid crying wolf, people have lost their faith and patience in the second coming, many have been taught that it's just spiritual or symbolic, but it's as real as his first coming, and there're clear, definitive signs pointing to it. Disciples asked about the signs and timing, and Christ gave them the signs and timing, which should not be ignored.
Mission agencies often base their strategies on Matthew 24:14, hoping to hasten Christ’s return. Yet, this verse is full of ambiguities, raising more questions than answers. How might we need to rethink the role of Matthew 24:14 in our mission thinking?

Promises are loving commandments that must be believed. The promise is the "end" shall come on the "last day" under the Sun.
Mathew 24: 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be
preached in all the
world for a
witness unto all
nations;
and then shall
the end come.
The difference between prophecy the living abiding word of God and signs used as a witness to the world must be distinguished. One produces faith trust in the unseen things of God the other doubt or wonderment. when ?where ?why" how?) In that way no man can serve two hearing or teaching masters. (Prophecy believing God ,and signs wondering, marveling, wondering. . .. . . . . . ? )

Prophecy and
signs)
For who hopes for that already seen. We have a living hope beyond the grave . I would offer we must be careful how we hear or say we hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to Christians his bride the church.
God has preserved have prophecy the power of our unseen Holy Faithful God. . . . no signs were given to wonder after . The sign of Jonas was a sign to the whole world that does not trust prophecy. believers have prophecy as it is written
The three days and nights promised demonstration of the unseen Holy Father working in Jesus the son of man was fulfilled with Jesus the Son of man and the unseen Holy Father. .
Luke 11:29-31King James Version And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an
evil generation: they seek a
sign; and there shall
no sign be given it, but the
sign of Jonas the prophet. For as
Jonas was a
sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the
Son of man be to this generation. The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of
this generation, and condemn
them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a
greater than Solomon is here.
Jesus called them faithless like Nicodemus formerly of the Pharisees with Sadaucesss those that do seek after a sign before they will trust a unseen Holy God calling the an evil faithless generation (all in Adam die)
When speaking of spiritual things of God that the eyes cannot see (born again ) Jesus the apostles given words from the Father lovingly commanded Nicodemus to marvel or wonder not .
(the commandment)
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye
must be
born again.
Again marveling or wondering is the same as doubting not coming to a end. . . belief or faith of . . . . . the living abiding the words of the Father .
Mathew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell
us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the
sign of thy coming, and of
the end of the world?
He told them of no such sign. No sign to seek after was given.
In that way God sends a strong delusion so that those who do seek after signs rather than prophecy will remain confused in wonderment .
2 Thessalonians2: 7-12 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even
him, whose coming is after the
working of
Satan with
all power and
signs and
lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because
they received not the
love of the
truth, that
they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That
they all might be damned who
believed not the
truth, but had pleasure in
unrighteousness.
An easy way to remember. .
