The British Government is about to make free speech illegal for Christians.

At the moment the British government is trying to make it law for homosexuals to be able to marry in any Church they desire throughout the length and breadth of the UK. The homosexual community would also have the right in law to advertise gay events in Church magazines. In fact it is going to be illegal to say that homosexuality is wrong, and any Christian who says it is against the Bible is likely to be arrested.

This week the whole subject is going to debated in the House of Lords. It's time for us to pray against these laws and to protest to our local Member of Parliament. There has been little in the media about these proposed law changes the government would try to introduce them by stealth as they have in Northern Ireland.

MmMm

Very disturbing. Do you have a link for this info bro Tony?

God Bless

Lord, we know that there are strong Christian voices in the House of Lords of the UK. We pray that you fill those voices with your words and bring this legislation down to defeat. In Jesus' name, Amen and Amen!

Amen Tonyb. Just before Christmas the leader of one of the main Pentecostal Churches in NI was on the front page of NI's main evening paper. He has taken a stand and said that no way is this going to be allowed and he is prepared to go to jail for the cause. Many people here back his stance.
Apart from this many of us wouldn't even have known this was to be introduced here from 1st January this year. As far as I know Christians are taking this to court. Prayer is indeed much needed for the UK, including Northern Ireland.

This is just plain sick. What gives the "law" the right to FORCE gay communities to advertise in church magazines? This is not only unethical, immoral but completely inhumane to freedom. Totally the work of the devil.

Within the next hour or so (as I type this post) The unelected Upper House of the UK Pariament (The House of Lords) will attempt to introduce this law BY STEALTH just as Tonyb has indicated.

Some examples of those who would render themselves liable to prosecution would be a Minister who refused to bless a 'gay marraige', a hotelier who refused to allow a bed to be used for homoesexual behaviour, or a Christian teacher who refused to teach homosexuality as a morally acceptable practice.

Today, here in England, Christians, Muslims, Jews, and upright moral subjects of The Queen and The Christian Alliance of Lawyers are in unison in their stand against this law. Just as I type - I have heard on the TV BBC News a spokeswoman for the Christian Alliance of Lawyers declare that this proposed law will "go the other way and discriminate against Christian rights.

Please pray for us! Pray God will intervene and His Will be done.

Matthew 24:36-39

36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Jesus' return is closer than we think dear brothers and sisters. I will pray to God, but I know in my heart that this is what was prophecised. I'm sorry to say, but read Mattew 24, you will be persecuted and there is no hope except Christ.

The day of the Lord has come, is arriving day by day, the hour is unknown, nor the exact day, but He will come.

Homosexuality is legal in South Africa, it's a state of living in sin under the National law, more things will follow for my country as the UK and US are it's rolemodels.

May God have mercy on us.

God bless

Well, 'Their (UK) Lords Spritiual and Temporal' have voted to enact UK law from April this year called The Sexual Orientation Regulations 2007 which will criminalise a Christian Minister who refuses to perform a Church 'blessing ceremony' on a 'gay marraige' or a Christian school teacher who refuses (as the law will DEMAND) to teach our children that homosexual activity and marraige is morally and legally correct and acceptable, or a hotelier who refuses to allow his premises or a double bed to be used for homosexual activity.

I asked you for your prayers that Gods Will be done. He has wonderfully answered ....

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

(Matthew 5:10-11)

I personally am praying there will be much rejoicing and gladness in Old England as we face this persecution for His Name Sake.

Like those who were imprisoned and executed in persecution of the early Church we like them will pray, "And now, Lord, observe their threats and grant to Your bond servants [full freedom] to declare Your message fearlessly" (Acts 4:29 AB)

We are in end-time days.

Maranatha!

This is obviously a very controversial subject. Every gay person I have met so far has been sensitive and kind. However, I am aware that there are some gay people who are promiscuous and partake in abhorrent behaviour in public and private, which is wrong and sinful. Surely it is the act of sodomy and sexually immoral acts though that is the sin not whether you are 'gay' or not. Many homosexuals and heterosexuals may have the temptation to partake in these acts but from having self control choose not to do it.

'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable'. (Leviticus 18:22)

'God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.' (Romans 1:26)

We are all tempted by various things to various degrees everyday of our lives and suffer in ourselves if we give in to these temptations. We may inherit an aggressive nature, whether we chose to try to control that nature is up to us, as individuals we seek the guidence of the holy spirit. We do not deny that this anger is in our nature but do try to curb it and control it in the best way we can. Just as we try to control any sexual urges we have that we know to be wrong. Being gay is not a sin, just like being an alcoholic is not a sin but it is when we give into temptation that the sin occurs.

Sexual immorality is wrong but not the unforgivable sin.

Furthermore, the Bible does not say we should not love people of our own sex there are instances of this.

'After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself' (1 Samual 18:1)

So, if two souls who are the same sex can love each other, I don't see why a celebate same sex union could not be blessed. As to my mind it is the act of sodomy and sexual immorality itself that is the sin.

Four years ago I heard one of our local pastors say the Lord had shown him that this could happen and he said he would also go to prison for not marrying same sex couples.

You are intitled to your opinion, Teraside and I respect it. I also feel deep down that it is not right to be homophobic. I do not believe that being homosexual is inherited but as human beings I think we have a predisposition to a sinful nature and that is our inheritance. I do not agree with the proposal being put forward in the house of Lords nor do I agree with freedom of speech being taken away. I believe that just because Netherlands, Spain, Canada etc have had these laws passed does not mean that we in England should rush into doing the same. I do not agree with sexual immorality of any kind and I do not believe that pastors should be forced to marrying same sex couples, just as they should not be forced to marry divorced individuals if they don't want to. However, I also do not think that we should stand in judgement either, he who is without sin cast the first stone.

God Bless

I hate that homosexuality is a "sensetive" issue. Is fornication a sensetive issue for Christians? How about stealing? No they are not and homosexuality is no different. The bible says it's wrong so it's wrong. People always say that Christians specifically target the sin of homosexuality. And I do agree that in the Christian community, homosexuality seems to be more frowned upon than almost any other sin. That shouldn't be the case as all sin against the will of God. However when you see things like this happening, you can see why the church stands up to, and singles out, this particular sin. Mark my words, homosexuality will be the catalyst for the Bible to become hate literature and as a result it will be removed from book stores, and soon enough from homes. Christians who speak against such sin will become hate mongers.....no wait that already happened. Christians, true followers of Christ have to see this for what it is. Its not about being homophobic, but standing against the main reason we will lose our religious freedom.

I believe in religious feedom. I think though that sometimes I feel there is a lot of hate out there and it worries me because it doesn't seem to target the act but the person. Maybe I am an idealist but I would like to see everyone being kind to each other, sympathetic to people not so judgemental shunning gay people like they are lepers. I just feel like it looks as though we are all ganging up on gay people. So I just feel that a little understanding even if we could never condone the act might go a long way to getting rid of all this hate.

I still do not see what is wrong with blessing a celebate gay couple. It has been known for a long time that Catholic priests who are gay can continue to be priests as long as they remain celebate. Catholicism treats homosexuality as a "tendency", not an orientation, and says those who have overcome it can begin training to take holy orders. So why on earth cannot those who have overcome this tendency not have a blessing if they abstain from sexual relations with each other?

The Vatican also stresses the Church's deep respect for homosexuals, who, it says, should by no means be discriminated against.

I just think that any hostility toward anyone is wrong on both sides of the disagrement. I do not support positive discrimination which is what this proposed law will introduce.

God Bless

It's not about shunning Gay people. It's about defending ourselves against what will in time be, the one of the very reasons we will lose our rights to our Bibles!

I don't understand how we can "bless" something the bible speaks of as an abomonation! Having homosexual tendencies isn't wrong, if left to my own I would have real fornication tendencies. It isn't a sin to be tempted, we are all tempted, but it's what we do when we are tempted. Take me for example: I am tempted daily, but because I know the wrath of God, I know it's a sin against Him, and terrible in His sight. The bible says "NO" so I say "OK". If the we would listen to the word of God instead of the culture we live in, this wouldn't even be an issue. God's word is clear, culture adds its own grey areas. That's why we must be seperate from the world, be a different, and distinct people. People who hate sin, because it is offensive to the God we serve, and obey. A people who love the sinner, but hate the sin. Christ showed love, but he also drove out the merchants from the Temple with a whip! As much as we love people, we still have to stand up to injustice and sin.

You are totally off track if you don't mind saying so Eve.

The Bible says homosexuality is wrong, full stop. You can't say if they're celebate it's okay. Would you rather follow the opinion of a worldy institution like the catholic church? Or would you listen to what the Bible says?

I think the world you are aspiring for will be achieved in the new earth, but until then we're in this world, where sin is prevailing each day.

1 Corinthians 6:8-10
9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

God's Word says they are wicked, God says they are wicked. Listen to what God says. There is no debating on Talk Jesus, I will delete anyones post who is pro homesexuals.

God bless

Billyeah and teraside I have to agree with you both - homosexuality is wrong.

Here's part of an article the BBC issued today re the House of Lords vote.

"New rules outlawing businesses from discriminating against homosexuals have been upheld in the House of Lords.
A challenge led by Lord Morrow of the Democratic Unionist Party failed by a margin of three to one.

He had argued that the rules forced people to choose between obedience to God and obedience to the state.
But Northern Ireland Minister Lord Rooker said it would be "quite wrong" to elevate the rights of one group above those of another.
Lord Morrow's call to annul the regulations, which have applied in Northern Ireland since 1 January and are due to be implemented across the UK by April, was defeated by 199 votes to 68. The Sexual Orientation Regulations have been criticised by some religious groups who say people will not be allowed to act according to faith.

Hundreds of Christians demonstrated outside Parliament, but gay rights groups say no mainstream religious groups supported the protest.

Critics say the new rules mean hotels cannot refuse to provide rooms for gay couples, and religious groups would be obliged to rent out halls for "gay wedding" receptions.
They also argue a Christian, Jewish or Muslim printer could be forced to print a flyer for a gay night club, or a teacher would have to break the law to promote heterosexual marriage over homosexual civil partnership.
Tory peers were allowed a free vote but the Liberal Democrats supported the government, whose Labour supporters were whipped to attend and vote.

'Obedience'

Lord Morrow told peers: "The regulations make it possible for homosexual activists to sue people who disagree with a homosexual lifestyle because of their religious beliefs.
"They require religious organisations to choose between obedience to God and obedience to the state."
He added: "The regulations threaten to override the conscience and free speech of Christians and others who object to homosexual practice."
Labour's Lord Smith said: "I am somewhat puzzled by the arguments that have been advanced.

"It seems to me, in my simplistic way, that what they (the opponents of the regulations) are arguing for is quite simply the right to discriminate and the right to harass.
"And those arguments are being made in the name of Christianity."

A High Court judicial review against the regulations in Northern Ireland, brought by the Christian Institute, will be heard in March."

We do need to stand up as Christians against this new law. It will be interesting to see what happens in the High Court in Northern Ireland in March. I don't need to post more scripture on this, as others have said we are in the end times indeed, so we shouldn't be surprised at this outcome.

Thanks for the warning Teraside I can see that the discussion may go that way if there are people out there that think that homosexuality is not a sin or that my posts are in some way pro-homosexual culture. Let me just emphasise and say my posts are definatly not pro-homosexual behaviour and I do not think that anyone here or any Christian including myself would approve of those sins. Just as I am not pro-alcoholic behaviour but it is said that one always remains an alcoholic if one has had this problem and they should never drink again due to this tendancy. I would not condem that person but applaud their efforts to be sober.

I do not agree with sexual immorality of any kind

The bible states 'homosexual offenders' in Corinthians what about those that repent of their homosexual tendancies and become celebate? This is my point. Christ died for our sins do we say all except for homosexual ones?

The question is can a love for a soulmate be pure and not of lust?

Laws are wrong in countries which allow a union based on sexual perversion, this is not disputed by me or any Christian.

It upsets me though to think that there are people who have sinned in this way and feel that their only option is suicide. Who may feel that God rejects them not the act that they have done.

What should a gay couple do who have been together 20 years but are called to be Christian what options do they have?

Can their love be platonic?

God Bless

 Eve

ps I agree with Sunshine307 this proposed law is wrong and as I said before and uses so called 'positive discrimination' against Christians which isn't positive in any way and I am against it. There are some far reaching issues for this topic and I think we could go around and around in circles forever if we are not careful...
