The British Government is about to make free speech illegal for Christians.

Eve, you have many questions and I'm afraid I cannot answer them all, but God can.

The main thing is we don't have to speculate, we don't have to fret or worry regarding a plutonic love between two men or woman, does that not make the basis of a strong friendship?

I think this "love" is a false love, I don't think two men can really love one another.

It's good to know that you are a strong child of God sister Eve, and I will pray that the Lord Almighty will reveal to you His own personal opinion regarding this matter.

God bless you
Much love

Thank you sister Teraside,

This is a subject that is very close to many peoples hearts. I hope that gay people can feel encouraged by the church to give up the practice of sexual immorality but at the same time not victimised or harrassed.

God is love and I think that we will all agree that there is no relationship greater than the one between our most wonderful Lord and ourselves.

God Bless

Christians in the U.K. can rejoice that this debauched edict tendered by those whose god is their belly, has been overthrown.

I was at a meeting for prayer yesterday evening, at the time that this matter was being considered by those who have the rule over us. We were reading from the book of Nehemiah....ch 4 where Gods people against violent opposition were building up the broken walls. They succeeded, and the enemies of the lOrd had to concede, "God had done this"

Jesus is the answer

Hello Eve,

Firstly, I'd like to say is there is always an answer in God to whatever sin people are struggling with. I once heard a preacher say, 'God doesn't have any problems He only has solutions,' and that is the truth. There is grace to deal effectively with any sin, no matter type it is habitual, dispositional, whatever. When God does a work of grace in someone's life the tendency, whatever it is is taken away completely and it becomes as if that person has never committed that particular sin, ever before in all of their life.

The trouble is there are Christian Churches around that don't preach and teach a complete gospel, which means Christians remain in bondage to sinful practices that they simply shouldn't have. This also has the knock on effect of their out reach to the lost being compromised. Believe me there is an answer to sins such as homosexuality, alcoholism, drug addiction and any other type of sin, Jesus is the answer, and He can set them free in the twinkling of an eye, I've both seen and heard of Him do it.

Blessings,
Tonyb

Great word brother, I have no intention of giving up in this matter for one second, as we are on the side that has won.

Blessings,

oopps...humble appologies I should have looked more closely at the symbol please forgive me Brother Teraside. :embarasse

I concur Tonyb, repent and Jesus sets us all free from our sins no matter what those sins are. Our journey to know the Lord fully may not be an easy one, there are pitfalls and temptations along the way we have to overcome but I pray that all the lost souls out there who are falling foul of temptation will come to know the Lord fully. A rift has occured and I hope that a bridge can be made so that those lost souls will come to truly know the Lord's love and peace and grace. Knock and the door shall be opened.

The irony is this proposed law has incited that very thing it hoped to avoid! It has created a virtual battle zone with soldiers of God on the one side and gay activists on the other!

I pray God gives us a peaceful solution, that does not compromise our faith.

God Bless:boy_hug: :girl_hug:

Re: The "Free Speech" thread/ Same Sex Marriages

"But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord made a WOMAN from the rib he had taken out of the man and he brought her to the man."
(Ge 2:20b-22)

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to nhis WIFE, and they will become one flesh." (Ge 2:24)

Same sex "marriages" do not qualify as God-anointed unions for a couple of reasons: God made them male and female so that they would compliment each other, meaning that each would bring to the union the special gifts that only the opposite sex can supply. Put more simply, same sex marriages don't work because women need marriage partners who are not emotionally wired like other women, who do not think like other women do. Likewise, men need marriage partners who are not emotionally wired like men, who do not think like other men.

Then there is also the matter of procreation. One of God's top priorities is that each species (mankind included) multiply and fill the earth. God designed the bodies of women for childbearing - "To the WOMAN he said, 'I will greatly increase your pain in childbearing....'" (Ge 3:16).He instilled in WOMAN the nurturing instincts that are so necessary for healthy pregnancies and the growth and development of young children.

At the moment the British government is trying to make it law for homosexuals to be able to marry in any Church they desire throughout the length and breadth of the UK. The homosexual community would also have the right in law to advertise gay events in Church magazines. In fact it is going to be illegal to say that homosexuality is wrong, and any Christian who says it is against the Bible is likely to be arrested.

This week the whole subject is going to debated in the House of Lords. It's time for us to pray against these laws and to protest to our local Member of Parliament. There has been little in the media about these proposed law changes the government would try to introduce them by stealth as they have in Northern Ireland.

This is totally, totaly wrong. If I was a priest, rev/lady of the particular church. They will have to arrest me, as I will not marry two people of the same sex. God doesn't like it and He forbids it.

I must walk away from all evil that God doesn't like.

hi all,

Just goes to show how behind the times I am. I have read in a couple of news reports lately (last one from the BBC) that it turns out that some priests are unofficially blessing gay couples already! Don't agree with ALL gay unions being blessed, I feel it contradicts scripture.

However, as said before a celebate, companion type relationship I feel is less objectionable, as they would not share a matrimonal bed.

Gay people shouldn't be married and certainly not in church but some acknowledgement of their love and commitment to each other I do not object to provided their love does not involve any of the sexual immorality described in the bible.

The debate was raging on one of our morning tv news shows in England yesterday or the day before, they had one representative from a Christian group and the other was from a gay group. Going over pretty much the points already made here on TJ.

I agree SLE, Gay couples cannot bring the right balance for bringing up children. Paternal and maternal influence is the ideal we strive for. This is how it was originally intended.

Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. (Ex 20:12)

God Bless

How do you define discrimination?

We hear the word "discrimination" bandied about a lot these days in the news media; so much so that what discrimination actually is has become clouded.

Gay rights activists in our legislatures have pushed through so-called hate crimes laws designed to stop opponents from coming against their agenda.
It seems they want to equate opposition to their agenda with racism, recalling the violence that has accompanied that horrid issue so often.

Sadly, it is true that there have been cases of violence against gays by virulent bigots. I once knew and respected a businessman from my community who was gay. He made the mistake of going to a gay bar one night where he encountered two "red necks" who kidnapped him and beat him to death. Also, a few years ago two redneck cowboys kidnapped a young gay man, took him out in the country, stripped him naked, tied him to a fence post, and killed him. Many in our community (gays and straights) were repulsed at these events.

As I recall, the concept of hate crimes arose when laws were written to protect people from those who would do such things; people who would carry out physical violence against those whom they consider to be inferior to themselves. I vigorously support that original concept. However, it is wrong, in my opinion, for any group to be able to manipulate that concept to stifle opposition to their political/moral agenda. In so doing, they are attempting to trample the free speech rights of all of us.

One of the things we can do to stop this is, when we see the word "discrimination" in a newspaper/magazine/on-line article or hear it on radio/television, take a moment to think how the word is being used, avoid being duped into believing that disagreeing with some certain group automatically constitutes discrimination, and model this thinking to others.
