Yes their fruit shows. They boast of being millionaires.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

They do not boast about their wealth. They in fact "boast" about how the Lord took them from severe debt and lack of knowledge to being debt free and blessed by God's abundance--in all areas.

my pastor tells us to eat the meat and spit out the bones. That means some people may say things that we disagree with, we still take in the good things
In my opinion, the Prosperity Gospel (aka the Word of Faith Gospel) is all bones because it makes worldly prosperity and healing the heart of its message. Not that those things are unimportant - Jesus is still in the healing business - but, the state of our soul is more important than our worldly status. There are several accounts in the New Testament (see Lk 5:19-25) where Jesus forgave a person's sins before healing his/her body.

I've heard it with my own ears and your denying it doesn't change that. I have met many of the WOF cronnies and have witnessed much more than what is seen and heard on TV.

IMO the prosperity gospel is a false gospel. There is very little scriptural support and most of the scripture used to support it is twisted and misinterpreted. Those that adhere and teach practice the blab it grab it gospel are very spiritually immature. Denying self and taking up your cross (Jesus' instruction) is quite different then "money cometh" or "fake it till you make it". These people know very little when it comes to spiritual truth.

I agree SLE it is really a gospel of self. Self is at the center of it. The WOF message directly conflicts with the scriptures.

Yes, the true prosperity gospel is a sham, but the Copelands are not.

Well they propagate the prosperity gospel. Maybe you should do a study on the WOF movement Ophel.

I know about the "prosperity Gospel" and I know the damage it does. In fact, a church near ours was just that and because of it was destroyed from within. We have received hurting people as fallout from that debacle.

But Ken and Gloria and their ministry does not exactly fall in line with the Prosperity Gospel as is being touted on the internet. It would behoove you and others to really listen to them for a change.

I was not aware that they had repented and turned from the false teachings.

Praise the Lord, if they have maybe they can grow spiritually now.

As I said, it would behoove those who are their detractors to really hear what the Lord says through them.

I don't watch any "christian TV" especially WOF propronents. But if you say that the Copelands are no longer teaching the things that are in Chad's OP then I will have to check it out. I know they have made many false prophecies in the past but I wish they would have made a public apology for these things.

I have heard them many times and probably heard them say many things that you are unaware of, I have witnessed the special treatment they receive also and it is very carnal. I will do a little more research to see if their teaching has changed.

Its a sad thing when we grow found of a ministry only to find out, by holding it up to the light of Gods word, that they are so far away from him and his love and power!
I remember the song they had in the early 80's to begin their show on TV. It was really good, really.
But people do fall and miss the mark and cause others to be hurt and miss the mark as well.
So stay clear of the copelands!

Well I went to the Copelands' website and looked at some of their teachings and found that it is still very errant and misleading. Many of the prophecies Kenneth had given in the past that have been proven false or failed to come to pass are not listed there is a gap between 1995 and 2005 almost 10 years with no prophecy listed. I found nothing during the 2002-03 period.

So I say steer clear of the Copelands and their teachings. There are many good and sound people teaching sound and biblical things that will help one grow spiritually available today, so I see no need to listen to Copelands, digging through the garbage to find a morsel of truth.

IMO the OP of this thread is correct and everyone should be warned of the false teaching of the WOF movement of which the Copelands are active proponents.

If I'm not mistaken, Kenneth Copeland is a protege of Kenneth Hagin. If that's true, Copeland is directly connected to Hagin, not just influenced by him, therefore he is WOF.

WOF is the prosperity gospel, they are one in the same Ophel.

I and thousands of others do not believe that. There are those who go on a tangent and push prosperity to an inordinate degree, but true WOF people are not what you are saying.

That is the result of wagging tongues.

Seems you are quite the authority about WOF. The OP stands and if you disagree thats up to you. If you want to post anymore debating the OP please furnish scripture that supports your opinion. No more needs to be posted here warning everyone of the dangerous teachings of the Copelands or any other WOF proponents so I'm bowing out. God bless everyone.

I think it is an irresponsible thing for people to post warnings about certain Christian brothers and sisters, calling them dangerous, when nothing is truly understood about them. I believe that the Copelands are ministers of Christ, and they share the truth and the love of Christ with excellence, and they teach about freedom in Him.

I also believe that there is some sort of contagious hysteria involved and that too many impressionable believers are allowing themselves to be influenced by heresy hunters who put out silly and sensational videos on YouTube, and make dramatic claims on their self-aggrandizing blogs.

If one truly wants to know the facts, then listen to what Kenneth and Gloria say themselves! I do, and I haven't heard one heretical word.
