The reason Paul said the letter of the law kills is because the law condemns sin to death, as the wage of Sin is death.

The Law condemns the SINNER to death

It was not the holy law of God that caused man to die, but Sin.

But it is by the Law the knowledge of Sin. Sin is not imputed when there is no law.

But the Scripture - the Law - concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to the believers.

About the END of the Dispensation of the New Testament together with the Old Testament
