Gregory's quite right in that there was a small but significant section of the population that were Nazi sympathisers. They are a hangover from the Soviet era when Ukraine faced starvation prior to WWII and so many looked on Hitler's invasion as a positive and after the war many were tried for war crimes in Nuremberg; the same went for a number of the southern republics including Belarus which is now Putin's puppet state. That's about the only grain of truth in Gregory's post; the rest of it is garbage he's gleaned from Russia state media. The Ukrain Nazi party cannot be doing the bombings, they don't have any missiles, helicopters, jet fighters etc. Putin's Russia does. Another lie, the Ukrainian Government won a democratic election monitored by EU observers. Zalinski's policies were western facing, wanting to join the EU and Nato and move away from Russian dependency. He also promised an anti-corruption drive which seemed to spook his Russian leaning predecessors who were corrupt. I'm not sure where Gregory gets his info that the UN had anything to do with the election: Russia on the other hand has form when it comes to interfering in elections.

So in essence, what Gregory is saying is that the brutal bombings of civilian areas including, blocks of apartments, railway stations filled with escaping refugees, horrific numbers of civilian casualties including mothers and children, rapes including children, mass graves including bodies with hands tied behind backs is a price worth paying to rid Ukraine of a few Nazi sympathisers. Not forgetting the trauma caused to the conscript soldiers on both sides and equally importantly the horrendous effects on our brothers and sisters in Christ who we're supposed to love as Jesus loves us. I find Gregory's post totally obscene, sickening and gut wrenching. There can be no justification by any right thinking, God loving, Spirit filled Christian; it doesn't compute, it's an anathema.

Would you support UK or Germany bombing France because the Nazi leaning, right wing National Rally Party got nearly 50% in the recent French elections? Course not. Make no mistake, this has nothing to do with Nazis; it's all about another prototype anti-Christ, ruthless psycho dictator in the mould of Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Idi Amin etc. Putin thinks that Russia's not big enough, plain and simple.

I'm with you @Christina2000 on this one, let's pray for our poor dear brothers and sisters in Christ as well as all the other innocent civilians caught up in the evil catastrophe.

I can empathize with the horror you feel as you see news reports from the Ukraine, and hear of the suffering taking place there.

I do not pretend to understand the political background to this conflict. I have read differing reasoning regarding it, and am not in a position to confirm or deny either, so I can only commit the population of Ukraine to God, and pray that His will be done. We can only support those fleeing the conflict as best we can, and hope that justice will ultimately be done.
