Hello
@Lavender22,
'And Moses said unto God,
.. "Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them,
.... The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you;
...... and they shall say to me, What is his name?
........ what shall I say unto them?
And God said unto Moses,
.. I AM THAT I AM:
.... and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,
...... I AM hath sent me unto you.
And God said moreover unto Moses,
.. Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,
.... The LORD God of your fathers,
...... the God of Abraham,
........ the God of Isaac, and
.......... the God of Jacob,
............ hath sent me unto you:
this is My name for ever,
and this is My memorial unto all generations.'
'I AM THAT I AM' = 'I will be what I will be (or become)'
'I AM' = 'I will be'
* What He will be is left to be filled up according to the needs of those with whom He is in covenant relation = He Who became Saviour, Redeemer, Deliverer, Strengthener, Comforter, and so on. So the, I AM's, spoken by the Lord are an extension of this, isn't it?
'I AM the bread of life'(John 6:35, 48, 51)
'I AM the light of the world' (John 8:12; 9:5; 12:46)
'I AM the door' (John 10:7, 9, 10)
'I AM the good Shepherd' (John 10:11, 14)
'I AM the resurrection and the life' (John 11:25)
'I AM the way, the truth, and the life' (John 14:6)
'I AM the true vine' (John 15:1, 5)
* The words 'I am' are used by the Lord so many times, and each one would be worth considering within their context, wouldn't they?
These are just thoughts.
Thank you
In Christ Jesus
