It does not matter how long any of us have been here, this site is not about whose side we wish to take here either! It has always been about uplifting each brother and sister here without hesitation or reservation! It is about all of us as a whole! This site is not about you or me standing alone on any issue!

It is about supporting our brother Chad in the goals he has set for all of us here! To build up, and encourage one another here at all times! If you decide you cannot, or will not do this, then you shall reap the consequences from your self serving!( col 3:25) And believe this!!!

No mod here will have one single problem removing you from here!! This will be the last warning I give, for If one does not take heed to this warning, why would they to another?? There are no children here,so it is high time many stop acting like children! I only speak one time, there will not be a second! I am a servant of the Lord, and a servant to brother Chad and to every Mod, and to all of you!

You will be as well, or you will no longer be here! It is rare I am so angry, but I believe it is high time someone tell some others just what time it is here! I have no problem doing that! I am the bell ringer for the Lord!( rom 13:11) And I am accountable to Chad,to every MOD!!! And to you all to!! You shall follow me in this! I am not asking you,i am telling you!

Brother Chad brought me here,he was kind enough to make me a Mod here to! I am loyal both to him,and to all of you! He has more endurance then I do,I can always learn from all here, and so can you. I never thought I would speak out so strong here ever!! But inside me,without any doubt, I believe that time has come! Take heed, because I sure will!!

Brother brighthouse,

I fully agree that this site should be about uplifting others, but i thought that this site was about being able to talk about Jesus. And discuss our differences of opinions? Isn't that Chad's desire too?

Sometimes it takes a few pages of a post to get to a place where the two or many people have stated their case or beliefs, and then agree to disagree. And sometimes people take what is being said out of context, or really just get in the middle of a thread, and not understand why things are being said that are said.

Blessings to you and your household

@Brighthouse ,
Greetings Brother,
One thing I have noticed is those who tend to get all bent out of shape so easy in threads are the ones who do not truly read the entire post or assume they know what is being talked about. Perhaps instead of getting so angry that you feel you have to write post like this, simply place the person on moderated post until they show they can reply in a nice manner or or as many forums do, give them a 30 day chill out period ( suspension ) .

I know you are a moderator here and I honor this, however getting angry and threatning that you wont hesitate to ban people just stirs people up and chases those who truly want the fellowship away. It's about Jesus after all and no one else.
Have a wonderful week
Blessings
Jim

Greetings sister @Cturtle @Wired 4 Fishen

I believe brother @Brighthouse post goes much further than simple disagreements or conflicts of opinion....there have been attacks and undermining behaviours both subtle and overt.
This thread should encourage genuine Christian members to take time in prayer before posting, to become more thoughtful of others and to strive for peace whilst upholding the truth of the word.
If there are some convicted by our brothers sterner than usual words then may they see it as a space in which to reflect and seek the Lord on those convictions

This is a wonderful forum and a place where we can all lift the name of the Lord on high
A place where we can rejoice in talking about Jesus our beautiful Lord and Saviour

Let us all strive to keep it about Jesus
Rather than letting self slip in....the old man our flesh is ugly

Jesus is beautiful and we can share that beauty so lovingly...if we just keep focused on Him

Blessings and peace to all

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
Neither give place to the devil....

...Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 4:26-27 29-32

Greetings,

PLEASE NOTE :

THE WARNING GIVEN IS NOT DEBATABLE

Members need to understand completely and clearly the seriousness of Brighthouse's post.
Neither he nor I nor any other staff member get a thrill or any gratification in making such a warning or from carrying out any action that results in any member being banned as a result of ignoring the warning given OR may I add, challenging the warning or Brighthouse or the seriousness of the warning given.

TWO members have discovered that as an immediate result of and response to playing down the seriousness of the warning and effectively making excuses either for themselves or others and/or challenging Brighthouse regarding his post that they have for the time being been banned.

May I suggest that those interested in remaining here as active members accept what Brighthouse has stated and rethink about the purpose and plan of their being here and at the same time consider that being considerate towards each other is in the best interest of and for each other, and occasionally try to remember that as members you can log in and out and post and reply with no effort, no commitment and no need to do anything else which is a kind blessing that all are welcome to enjoy and no one desires to take from you.
If we perhaps aim to log out having made another's day better and at the same time being enriched ourselves then our focus might be more likely to be less likely to pick on others or patronize others or boast as much either with pretentious self exaltation or in such a way as to attempt to leave others feeling interior or belittled even in the slightest degree whether deliberately or accidentally or without consideration or care.

We all like to share and all need love even if we are presently unable to come to a mutual God given understanding.

A couple of days ago while out on a walk, one of my family was standing on one side of a tree and I on the other. From where we each stood we were both most definitely sure that what was to us the right side of the tree could never be disputed.
Think about this.
And then think about/consider which was right in God's eyes.

May I also suggest that if members wish to discuss personal issues or positions with each other that they (you) use the private conversation tools available for everyone to use and enjoy to do so and help keep the threads focused on the subject matter relevant to the original post. The Conversation tools include an option to invite others to join the conversation and on that note remember that if you are sent messages that intimidate you, you can invite a staff member to ensure that you are respectfully treated and treating others respectfully, too.... but please remember also that as Brighthouse sincerely stated, you/we are not children and therefore we don't need to call help or act victimized over petty things.
TalkJesus also has a chat room that could be used and effectively enjoyed - try it out.

Also try to remember that nobody forces you to get involved or stay involved in any topic that you don't agree with and sometimes saying something clearly and gently and moving on is OK to do!

Thank you for reading this and may we all enjoy and help others to enjoy the time that we spend here, in Jesus Name and for His Glory.

Bless you ....><>

Blessing all!! Yes brother Turtle this is about come and let us reason together!!( Isaiah 1:18) We can disagree!!! And there is a way to present this as well!! ( Col 4:6) If I present something to you all,I am looking at something from a certain view I see in scripture, you can sure disagree!! But show a scripture as to how you view this,is all i ask. We are all here to learn and to grow from each other,( ME!!!! Included!!!) The point! We here have a most wonderful mountain in which to see God's Word from, the certain view each of us take from the Mountain of God limits us also into what we can indeed see, this is what each of us keeps in mind.(1 cor 13:12)

My love for all here, is much greater then my love for the view I take, and that brothers and sisters should be all of our mindset, each and every time we join our fellow brothers and sisters in coming to the mountain of Love through our Jesus here. I am most thankful you all did not take offense to what I wrote earlier!! It was not meant to anger you,it was written for us ALL to dwell upon, and look to reason in love here with each other! No one here is more thankful then I am for the truly wonderful brothers and sister we have here on this site! I just want to insure all have a chance to grow, and to learn as I! A different view from another is valued,as long as that view lines up in God's Word as a view. We do not wish to speculate( 2 tim 2:23) We know why to!! LOL They produce quarrels!! At least!

So please show how in God's Word you came to such a view. To keep always in our mindset!!!( rom 12:3!!!!!)" For through the GRACE!! given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself( or herself) then he ought to think;BUT TO THINK so as to have SOUND judgement!!( john 1:14 grace and truth!!) as God has allotted to EACH a measure of faith.

For unlike our Jesus whom each of us follow,we all need to Trust in our Jesus, and through both our words, and our deeds, and in every way Acknowledge HIM! And the promise our Jesus gives us from this mindset is this!!( proverbs 3:5-6) And HE WILL make YOUR paths straight! verse 7 do not be wise in your own eyes!! Because who among us does not have a speck in there eye? ( matt 7:1-5!!) Therefore our words look open another's hand rather then close there hand!( luke 15:21-32!!) We all were once lost, and became found by Jesus, since this is true, let us all remember to have the same love for each other as Jesus has always had for each one of us!! Blessing all!!!

I am so thankful for the other Mods here!! They keep me in both check and confirmation!! Blessing Brother Bear!! As well as to all the Mods!!!!! And of course, our brother Chad!!!!

That is all well and very good. I have a question for you: How do you uplift a false teacher or unteachable spirit?

A fine question RJ!! Let us look at one example. ( Acts 8:9-25) Please notice something here bro,Philip was well aware of what Simon was doing.( acts 5:38-39) Philip knew the Lord would take care of Simon, because all Philip was concerned with is the very same we should be concerned with. Preaching the truth and the GOOD NEWS, not the bad news.hehe I take note of your point though!! And I truly understand your fine point to!!

In my life brother, and I can and will only speak for myself here on this one,I have never found a need to bring guilt and condemnation to another, they will do that themselves because of there false doctrine, for as you well know many just cannot wait to find something they can attack another upon! And why is this do you think?? Could it be perhaps they themselves are insecure about not only what they believe, but also why they believe it??

And find a need to attack another, who would look to gain fame as they do?? LOL I will not say brother RJ,but you must admit, this is something one should consider as well. This is why brother RJ before I myself step into this site I follow hard after 2 cor 13:5 for myself! if I judge I fail the test!( rom 2:1-5) and (matt 7:1-6!!) If you speak the truth, and someone is looking for an excuse to trample on what you sure know is the truth, why bother continuing?? verse 6! Jesus knew this!( matt 13:14-23) This is why Jesus spoke in parables to the unbelievers to start with. LOL

We know what we will receive by some brother!( john 15:18-20!!) Why get angry? Heck brother I would be upset if I did not get any upset.LOL I must be doing something wrong if everyone agrees with me!! LOL You see brother, with this mindset we always keep his peace in us!! For our hope lies in both grace and truth( john 1:14) For we follow hard after our loving Jesus! ( john 13:34-35!) Blessing always to you brother!

Now a question for those who wish to answer. What is the difference between being tested and being tempted? Hint! God cannot tempt!( james 1:13-14) So with this in mind what can last longer to us as believers?? A temptation,or a test? I look forward to your answers and through scripture, why you see this as you do. Thanks all!

n my life brother, and I can and will only speak for myself here on this one,I have never found a need to bring guilt and condemnation to anothe
And find a need to attack another,
I totally understand your point, especially as a Moderator, and if you think I have done this injustice, then I am truly sorry and repentant! Please show me where and I will correct it immediately. On the other hand, is there no room here for correction or rebuke?, or just stay away from that as well?

Brother RJ ,as far as I have ever seen from your writing, you may have been a tad bit harsh at times like all of us have, but you have always left room, for God's love and compassion as well! Some do not even open the door to reason,it is here my anger was kindled. blessing bro,I just wish to really be aware of my words,as I know we all do here. blessing all

Now a question for those who wish to answer. What is the difference between being tested and being tempted?

Test in the Biblical sense is in my opinion the situation were gives one the opportunity to prove one's faith by their works whereas tempt is the situation which provokes, or requires one's work to prove their faith.

Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. Ex 16:4
And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. Ex 20:20

And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live .Deut 8:2-3

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.John 5:25
Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
Heb 3:7-11

Hint! God cannot tempt!( james 1:13-14) So with this in mind what can last longer to us as believers?? A temptation,or a test? I look forward to your answers and through scripture, why you see this as you do. Thanks all!

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

In the confrontation in the temple with the chief priests and the elders of the people,Jesus had put before them the question regarding the baptism of John, whether it was from heaven? or of men? [Matt 21:23-25] If one recalls the testimony of Jesus baptism, the chief priests had escorted Jesus into Jordan where he was to be baptized as written in Luke 3:2 by the John who the people considered a prophet.

But one could say that chief priests didn't answer because they didn't know.. Considering that which is written in in Exodus 15:5, The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. The reason might have been that they did not wish to make known the answer to the people. And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not? But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet. Luke 20:5-6

As written in Matthew 22:15, Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. So they brought unto him a question which they too would trap him by his answer, being Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no? [Luke 20:22] It was once held that the ruler of a people or Nation was a deity, or God as indicated in
Ex 7:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet. And thus the God of the people ruled from a temple, or holy place wherein the throne of the ruler was. Thus, since Israel was under Roman rule, the Pharisees reasoned that Jesus couldn't say no because the Torah prohibited them to revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people nor could he say yes since it was commanded that thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me. Ex 22:28-29

And thus, it is written in Matthew 22:18-21:
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

Of course it is written in the Torah, [Duet. 7:25] The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.

20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 They say unto him, Caesar's.

Matt 22:21-22
21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

James 1:12
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. Matt 3:6
"Jesus answered them,......And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode."John 10:34-40
And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. Mark 1:9

In Luke 3:14, while it doesn't specifically state Roman soldiers, it is known that the area was under subject to Roman authority.
14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
Yet you don't seriously think they were there to be baptized?

Thus in Luke 3:2, who came to John in the wilderness?
2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

So with this in mind what can last longer to us as believers?? A temptation,or a test?

I do not have the answer to this.

I think a trial can last a lifetime though. When the Lord of hosts looks down into the silver freshly pulled from the flames and sees his own image perfectly reflected back at himself he knows the silver is pure and refined.

What further need is there to return it to the furnace at this point? Perhaps it's time to pour it into a mold, let it cool and then take it home.

First to Brother Travis, because the last shall be first LOL A very fine answer brother!! You get the star of the day award! I agree with you!! Since the flesh is always upon us,so are temptations,It is no wonder Jesus took his off at 33!! LOL Wish I could of to!! LOL And look how many times Jesus went away to be by himself!( Luke 5:16,Matt 14:23,mark 1:35,Luke 6:12) I think the two in Luke make up for nothing in John about this LOL As to the why of this,in my humble words, i would say he did this because God is Spirit, and why would not Jesus long to be in his natural state? Remember the scripture( john 4:24!) And as he is so are we in this world!( 1 john 4:17) In Spirit that is!! For he was only perfect in flesh!

And since we his children are always in need of perfection through our loving Jesus,( phil 1:6)until our loving Jesus leads us across the finish line into Glory we all indeed will be tempted. But while we wait for this in the flesh,Jesus longs for us to see what he already does see in the Spirit!!( Eph 1:11-14 and Eph 2:4-10!!!!) What Jesus saw in the flesh,he went many time in the Spirit to remind himself perhaps why he came for us in the first place. hehe If I were him, and saw what he saw,I believe I would rather see things in the Spirit as he did!! LOL Ah well! Since I sure am not him in person,i can be content with doing my very best in him, to long to see all of you,as well as myself as he sees us! Much more comforting! Thanks again Travis, you are sure growing fast in our Jesus!! I am thankful for such brothers and sisters here!

To WaterRock I am not sure how you are looking at this question bro? The question was as personal as I could make it! I get James 1:12 which is a fine scripture you gave! The idea behind the question I did not mention, is perhaps what you also need to hear, because to some I believe it is true, it can sound almost like a parable. I did not mean for the question to come off like that though,so sorry if it did! If we the believer know what to fight, then we can win through the battle as well! For before any battle, as you well know a study must be made of the enemy we look to destroy. This to me is true in both the physical and spiritual,so before battle we must check our weapons! hehe ( 2 cor 10:4-7) and our mindset!

For there can be no doubt of victory going into battle!( Rom 8:31-39!) The answer Travis gave,I believe he gave because he knows like I do,that the temptation going into battle is having some doubt before engaging. We must make sure there is no doubt, and from one area of our life we win,we see from this mountaintop, we also see the next mountain we, through our Jesus are to reach for in life. The test I see brother is how long will we wait upon the mountain we are on before we believe we become ready for the next test?

Because as we all know in every test there is a temptation to quit,or to go back,or to cry about having to keep moving. LOL Done that a few times myself!! LOL Telling the Lord, "do you not believe I have gone through enough already??" LOL Holy Spirit, inside me tells me this!( rom 8:14-15) Do I ever stop leading you?? LOL Are you my son or are you not my son?? Yes dear Lord Jesus I get it!! Just checking!! LOL

I have no need to be checked but you do! At this point one feels like Job LOL( job 40:3-7!!) verse 7!! I have found out the hard way myself not to even think to instruct our Lord! And so WaterRock I hope you better understand where I am coming from, and thanks so much for taking the time to give your thoughts upon this! Blessing!( psalm 27:13!!)
