Cricket, I am glad you spoke of the commercial. I was not aware of it. You did nothing wrong.
I am very happy with my church, my pastor, and the people I fellowship with there. Christ and His Word are preached heartily and sincerely there.\
Unfortunately, some churches are teaching falsehoods, and we as christians should not be ignorant of this. We need to be loving, yes, but also careful not to send people into deceit. Anyone who believes homosexuals go to heaven is not taking God at His Word. The Bible clearly tells us!

I will say from the outset i apologize if this steps on any toes - I don't mean it too.
I have to be honest and say that the fact that Mike's comments have been censored and his account closed leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. In fairness I don't know what he entirely said (edited out), but also do know that I consider Mike's daily posts some of the very best on TJ to be consistantly uplifting, truthful, and sincere. I do understand there are those who imbedd themselves amongst believers and we are correct to "shake the dust off our feet" of them - but I would be shocked if Mike were to be in this group.
As I said I don't know the full dialogue because it is gone, and seemingly so is Mike - but as a maturing believer I am troubled that brothers and sisters IN THE BODY can turn this quick on one another. I am in search of Truth, and sometimes Truth is hard, if we can't wrestle through these issues here how are we to face those that oppose us?
May God unite and bless you all.

I agree with you that I usually look forward to posts by Mike. He is usually uplifting if you don't mind the bluntness of his ways. He can usually be found in the truth.
However, like all of us, Mike has, it appears, fallen short. Some words have been exchanged and all in all the Lord has not been glorified in these posts. With fairness, it is not only Mikes posts that have been deleted. Even some of Chad's words are gone.
Unlike when two or more people disagree in a classroom, house, or even public place, the words posted on a forum such as Talk Jesus do not go away, and are seen by thousands and thousands across the globe. It is in the best interest of the body of Christ that these words not linger here any longer. Hence the demise of several posts. And may I say good riddance.
Mike will be missed, but realize that it was not Mike's content that you saw as "uplifting, truthful, and sincere", it was the Holy Spirit working through him. I am pleased to announce that the Holy Spirit has not been banned, and is welcome in this house! You will no doubt find these qualities in others posts as the Spirit directs them.
Note that believers in the body of Christ have not turned against one another. It is more that the body is traveling together in one direction, and if anyone turns and walks the other way, they tend to get trampled.
No one will stand against us. It is written. No weapon shall prosper...also written. If you are not with us, you are against us. Written truth.
I will continue to pray for Mike and his family, for it seems he is under heavy attack by our enemy. But I will fear not, and trust in the Lord.

Its easy to talk than to deal with nonsense on a daily basis. Its easier for someone to have a "bad taste in their mouth" and then say they do not know the full truth, than to deal directly with the trouble makers one on one. You can feel as you wish. No one's account gets closed for no reason.

I began my post by saying my intention was not to offend, it still isn't, but clearly I have and I apologize. Nigh made the comment "but realize that it was not Mike's content that you saw as "uplifting, truthful, and sincere", it was the Holy Spirit working through him." this is an excellant point and a good sense check - thank you. I conceded twice that I did not know the whole story. Part of that is not knowing what he said, and part of that is not having any explanation for his departure. That is my point, not to place blame but to understand.
In both PM and public posts I have poured out praise for TJ, and rightfully so the site is awesome and a true blessing. To me this is a logical extension of "brick and mortar" church worship. In those terms, if you were orienting yourself to a new church, no doubt you would gravitate to those that you felt could help you grow in the Spirit (i.e. jiggyfly, Mike, chad, Nigh, etc.). Now let's suppose after service one of those people was escorted out of the building with no explanation - you absolutely would feel threatened as to whether or not you could ask and say the tough things without getting the boot. I have little intrest in lining up on sides of high school squabbles, I have great intrest in seeking Truth. That "bad taste" that seems to have become a source of mocking - is not towards a person, or there one time actions, it is towards seeking Truth with the insecurity of getting the boot for questioning or saying the wrong thing. There is no malice in that, there is fear. Fear of a rejection that cuts deeper than I think is being recognized.
Did Mike deserve the boot? It's absolutely possible but (3rd time) I don't have all the information. Bottom line without explanation it inhibits fellowship for those that don't know and are timid as to what they can ask and say. I see 5500 members BUT the same 100 or so doing the posting - how many are sitting on the sidelines and not celebrating in the body that is ALL of us, because they have insecurity and don't want to be rejected?
TJ is a tremendous international blessing, and again the adminstrator deserves great thanks for following the Spirit in this venue.
Last night we had tremendous storms here in Iowa. And I thought for sure some of our 40 foot trees would fall - they didn't. Many branches broke away from the tree, and deservedly so they had lost there way and were dead. But the tree still stands, and it's large branches helped the small branches survive.
I apologize again if anyone feels I offeneded them. May God bless and unite you all.

The assumptions just do not end do they? Why assume anything when your not sure of the answer? Why not mind your business and just enjoy the fellowship here without your constant assumptions? Enough is enough! How many forums have YOU visited where every member is there every day? You couldn't possibly be serious could you? Why dont' you come on over and teach me how to run this forum and how to market and how to deal with rascals that appear like angels of light to you?
