"Today we said our last goodbyes to Levi. It was by far, the hardest thing I have ever done outside of watching him pass away. Seeing my oldest son say final words to his little brother and pouring out his love in words and tears and my husband tenderly holding our son’s hand for the last time was almost more than I could bear. I kissed his little cheek and promised him that I would not let the world forget him and that he would be in our hearts forever. His death is not in vain and he will help change the world. I don’t know how I forced myself to walk away because everything in me wanted to stay by his side.
You don’t need to remind me that he is happy in Heaven or that I’ll see him again. I know all of that and my heart rejoices in it truly, but right now that same heart is shattered in a million pieces and it hurts beyond words. I miss my little boy so much and nothing is the same without him here."
