What do you think is an important characteristic in a friend?

well i think Loyality is a good thing to have, cos if they got the loyalty for ya, ythen they'd have to trust you, and then for trust they would have to have a personality. :):) hehehe

To me A friend, is one who accepts you as you are..doesn't look on the outside, but what's inside and is loyal, trustworthy and reliable. I can call on that person, no matter what time of day.

A friend is onewho has the courage to tell me what I need to hear, not just what I like to hear.

Likeness. Someone whose in like manner as I am. Preferably not too tall either. I'd go for personality.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (gal 5:22-23)

the fruit of the spirit is important characteristics to have in a friend.

...Important Characteristic in a Friend

On reflection, I must say that I think the most important characteristic is loyalty, beginning with loyalty to Jesus Christ. As a believer grows in loyalty to Christ, loyalty to others and other good qualities can't help but follow.

agreeing with the options given (trust worthy, loyalty, personality) , and can i say for me godliness is very important in my friendships.

1 Timothy 4:8
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (New International Version)

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
this covers how ALL relationships should be imo.

Well I say, Trustworthy is the most important characteristic. If you can trust a person, automatically you will have genuine love for him/her and you will surely be truthful.

That is what I believe.
