i am reading a great book called the celebration of discipline by richard foster, it is awesome and it is about returning to and exploring the basic disciplines of our faith such as prayer, fasting, worship, confession, meditation, study, solitude and some others.
highly recommended.

Are you looking for fiction or non?
Some good christian fiction (that I enjoy) is The Genesis Trilogy. I can't remember all three titles, but the first is set right when Noah and his sons are building the ark. Seth meets his future wife, and it's told through her eyes. It kind of gives life to what Noah and his family probably went through, as far as people laughing at them for making an ark, and what kind of faith each of them had to trust God, including the wives with no names. The second is about Seth and his wife's granddaughter; she was (in the story) forced to be a part of the temple above the tower of babel, the people were worshiping her and she finds the Most High. The third is about Nimrod's son, still building the tower of babel, and Seth's great-granddaughter, who is kidnapped and forced to take her mother's place from the previous book. Wonderful stories, I can't remember the author.
Another good fiction book is Perpetua, written about a girl in Rome who finds Jesus at one of the times when they were the most persecuted. It's fiction but based off her own diary. It was very powerful.
Another one is My Hands Came Away Red, about a group of teen missionaries in Indonesia who are there building a church just when civil war breaks out and they are stuck trying to find a way out, and must grow up quickly or die. They hike across jungles, some get injured, and some die, and they wonder why God is allowing this to happen.
Some nonfiction I love is Max Lucado- Next door Savior is wonderful.

Sorry I don't have more info.

The book I would like to recommend would be:

"Don't Waste Your Life" by John Piper

It is a book that is in depth about how to effectively portray Christ in all we do in a true way. He is a very intellectual man and some of the wording warrants re-reading in certain parts, but all in all I give this a 2 thumbs and my cat's paws way up!

Here is the best part about it...you can go to desiringgod -dot- com and go to "Resource Library" and then go to "online books" and you can pick this book and all of the other books written by John Piper for free!

God Bless all!! <><

Thanks for all the book recommendations everyone!

You've more than likely read my favorite (since it's a classic), but just in case, "Knowing God" by JI Packer is amazing. My second favorite book ever. I love Max Lucado's writing, as well as John Piper, Mark Driscoll, Charles Spurgeon, Lee Strobel, John Eldredge, Paul Washer, John Calvin, and John Ortberg. Seriously, anything you pick up from any of these authors will more than likely blow your mind like they did mine.

My favorite Christian book is "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis. The book is composed of letters that Screwtape, an elderly demon, writes to a younger demon. In the letters, he gives the younger demon advice about how to make Christians fail.

It basically uses this setup to list pitfalls that Christians should avoid. What I like is that it doesn't cover the obvious ones, but delves into the details of mankind's more subtle flaws. It would definately be one to check out.

My vote for " Wild at Heart "

One of my churches did a bible study on it and I thought it was boring LOL....please don't skin me alive ....please don't

I am reading a book by Chonda Pierce called "Laughing In The Dark" it's about her struggle with deppression and how she over came it.

my favorite book

My favorite book would have to be
"The desire of ages" by Ellen G. White
This book was written in the late eighteen hundreds. This book not only talks about Jesus and the things He did but it also discusses the reasons and why He did them. It is very hard for me to just pick up a book and read but when i picked this one up i could'nt put it down. So if you get the chance to check it out Godbless

I also love books

Hie,

I dont know if you have ever tried Paul Coelho.he wrote this book called the Alchemist and it is such a great book i cant even explain his style of writing and he is constantly reffering to the bible.Whatever you do get this book!!!!
Also "Reformation in the house" by Bishop Tudor Bismark. It talks about the differene levels of spreading the kingdom principles, its starts with an individual then a family ,a church e.t.c.

Someone mentioned that book by C.S Lewis about the letters and stuff and i am actually looking for that book,i heard its a great one and it tells you some of the things and lies that the devil uses to deceive us.

Some of my favorites include:

The Bible by God

The Spiritual Man by Watchman Nee

In His Presence by E W Kenyon

The Final Quest by Rick Joyner

Let us Worship by Judson Cornwall

Absolute Surrender by Andrew Murray

Sucessful Home Cell Groups by Paul Yongi Cho

christian fiction

I like author Karen Blackstock I read her books from the church library where I attend.

The Bride by Rhonda Calhoun...I've never looked at my relationship with my beloved Jesus the same since...

Redemptive Love
forget the author but it is one of my favorite books ever. It is based off of the book og hosea and it puts a rather contemporary and liberal spin on christian literature. It will change your life.
