What is your favorite christian book?

This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti -very good if you are looking for a suspensful book. deals with spiritual warfare.

House by Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti -also suspenseful, movie came out recently

The Wounded Spirit by Frank Peretti- non fiction, a great book I HIGHLY recommend it

Redemptive Love is by Francine Rivers.

I don't have just one favorite book lol.

My husband and I enjoy many books.

Right now we are reading a series called The A.D. Chronicles by the husband/wife team of Brodie and Brock Thoene (said taynee). The books are about Biblical characters and how God changed through lives through circumstances. One man gets healed from blindness, a whole lot of lepers are healed, healed physically and spiritually, etc. Very good reads for the Historical/Biblical Fiction reader.

Another series we have read is the Dragons in our midst books and The Oracles of Fire books by Bryan Davis. The last of the Oracles of Fire books is scheduled to be released in April! These are about Dragons that are also part human. A lot of interesting twists and turns. If you like Sci-fi/Fantasy, you will love these books.

Of course, I love the Bible. lol.

There are some Max Lucado books we've read. I can't think of any other non-fiction ones right now.

These aren't even all of them. lol

I must be an old Fuddy Duddy ......:thumbs_up
When I take time to read, I want it to be Gods word.
Everything else seems futile, and unimportant.
Never get enough of it, and never enough time to read it.

Long time ago I read;

"Many a Thorn ", a nice novel , but probably not in print anymore. sigh!
Where did all those years go anyway! Laughing

I would recommend Witnessing To Dracula : A Memoir of Ministry in Romania by Billy Ng. The author recounts how he started a church in the land of dracula. It is very funny and greatly enjoyable.

One of my fave book so far is entitled "Heavenly Man" written by Brother Yun.

It is story about a Chinese man who was called by God to spread the Good News in China. He faced all sort of persecution, he was imprisoned, been away to his own family and he has experienced a great number of tragic event all for Jesus. But because of God's amazing grace, provision and power, Brother Yun was able to start a church in China that led many people to Jesus.

It's really worth reading. A very inspiring book indeed.

Adolf Schlatter, "Christ, The History of New Testament Theology" Any of this man's books will be of tremendous value to you in terms of intellectual and theological insight and challenge. This is Vol 1 and Vol 2 is also a must. A truly great Christian thinker indeed!

Hi,
There is a wonderful book by pastor Joel Osteen called YOUR BEST LIFE NOW, also BECOME A BETTER YOU. Both of these books are extremely motivating and super positive. Joyce Meyers right very excellent books also. The ones I've read are LIFE WITHOUT STRIFE, BATTLEFIELD OF THE MIND, AND LEARN TO HEAR FROM GOD. All very excellent books. The titles are exactly what the books are about. There is the one book that would be great to read with your spouse or close friend. It's called YOUR PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE, by Rick Warren. It's a book that's based on a 40 day spiritual journey to finding Gods plan for you. The book has forty chapters and your supposed to read a chapter a day. I read a book by T.D. Jakes called THE LADY, HER LOVER, AND HER LORD. This book is about a close intimate relationship with Christ, knowing him, getting to know yourself as a woman (a christian woman) and then moving on to that place where you can enter into a loving relationship with a good christian man. Lastly, there's a book that I heard of, I actually have it on hold at the bookstore. It's called THE NEW EVE. A good friend of mine told me that this book was based on what God intended woman to be, the plans he had for them, for us. Well, I really hopes this help.... let us know what you decide to read, happy readings and God bless!

My favorite book

My all time favorite book is YOUR BEST LIFE NOW, by Joel Osteen. For me, it's a real door opener to all spiritual books. It sets the table for the Thanksgiving dinner if you know what I mean. It's sooo positive and motivating that all you want to do is read another inspirational book that will help keep you growing in Christ. I watch Joseph Prince daily, I have to get his book also. Happy readings and God bless!

Hi, i was wondering if any of you have a favorite christian book that you have read? Im looking for a few new book ideas.

Thanks :embarasse
I thought "Blue Like Jazz" was pretty good. It was written by Donald Miller and basically just sums up his journey to Christ. I found it easy to read and interesting and applicable to my life.

I also really loved Max Lucado's "3:16: The Numbers of Hope." It takes an in-depth look at that particular verse.

I'm done reading Alex & Brett Harris' "Start Here" and it really inspire me in doing hard things all for God's glory. Doing hard things could mean doing the usual / normal stuff that you thought is not important at all. But when you dedicate everything and have the desire to please God, the most simple thing/s turns out to be the most important one.

Right now I'm reading William McKay's "Me, and Evangelist" I'm not even half way through
but it's very helpful & interesting at the same time. It helps us on how we can share the Good News in ways that we can easily apply to everyone.

Some of my favourites books are:
A New Systematic Theology of the Christian Faith by Robert L. Reymond
The Fountain Of Life Opened Up by John Flavel
Man In Revolt by Emil Brunner
and of course the classical Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan

I highly recommend them

The Reformed Pastor---Richard Baxter---The sincere Christian life
Pilgrims Progress---John Bunyun---Allegories for choosing the Pure Way
Bruchko----Bruce Olsen---Missionary--You'll laugh, You'll cry

Happy

*Name: The Bible
*Author, Authors: Prophets - Disciples
*Info: The Bible records the creation of the universe and world. God's creation of the human race and God's love and forgiveness for them. Even though the human race kept sinning against God, he kept forgiving them and eventually sent down his Son - his first creation to die for the human race so that those who ask for forgiveness and truly seek it and accept Christ - will be forgiven.

The Bible is backed by archaeological evidence and is the only book I need. Not only does it contain world history but it also contains Poems, Psalms and proverbs. The Bible is what pretty much made English what it is and is the greatest source for learning English.
