That list of belief systems that you commented as doing good works. I'd be Very careful with those you listed. 'Good works' will enable a person to go to an eternity without God. And since when does the LGBTQ do any good works. You can't honestly say that their 'love' is Godly.

So true, and that "Sin" within us has 'tentacles'. That is , That "sin" has many kinds of "fruits". Lies, jealousies, murder, anger, adultery, deception, gossip, stealings, revealing of secrets, sowing discords among brotherns,. You might not be a adulterer or was one, but you like to talk and gossip about people. You might have stop being angerly, but you might exercise a Jealousies and prejudices. I understand what you are saying, but I am not speaking about salvation or pleasing God. But referring to what people are calling good works. Or "good fruits" in this thread. It seems to me . Many think that we as Christians are doing the same "good works" as the world is doing but a different employer. I am saying: a Christians good works are different and the world does do not have the power to produce the kind of "fruit" we bear, because we have to be prune by God and remain in the Vine to produce our fruit of loving our enemies, turn the other cheek, to produce the fruits "The Sermon on the Mountain". Not sleeping with our neighbors wife, or envious of another woman 's husband or things.

The world has good works in their own camp. They help Christians, in hospital, feed the hungry, give shelters, they love their own. We are talking about what kind of fruits will or should a Child of God bear. And not speaking about the fruits of the "Holy Spirit". But the fruits of a Child of God. There has to be a different kind of fruit a Child of God bears from a person who is not a Child of God. A Apple tree bears apples, a orange tree bears oranges, a walnut tree bears walnuts.

People who do good things do them because it's a part of their nature: they are made in the image of a good God. In each one of us that innate goodness is distorted, suppressed and corrupted by our sinful rebellion against God. But it's not extinguished altogether.

I believe that what sets Christian belief and behaviour apart in modern western culture is our emphasis on grace.

Because Christianity has thoroughly permeated our cultures, many (most ) will accept 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you'. Most people will accept, even champion, the need to defend the rights of the powerless and oppressed. Love your neighbour as youself is accepted as a sound basis for moral living.

But grace: love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you. And forgiveness: 'Forgive them lord for they do not know what they are doing' still stand apart as wildly counter-cultural. So is Jesus' model of using power and authority to liberate others rather than to serve himself.

Dave, I think you do good works is because ,you are move by "compassion" at times. "If I have not love, it profits me nothing". If the works we do, do not bring a sense of tears, in us, it profits us nothing. The works we do are supposed to mold and shape us into the Image of Christ. "He was moved by compassion", "At the grave of Lazarus He wept", "weep with those who weep". As we see the pain and hurt and the abandonment and hopelessness in ones eyes, we share with them the aroma [the ministry] from the "Holy Spirit" "The Paraclete" that is in us. When we do good works it is not by the letter of the Law but The Spirit that gives life. (2 Corinthians 3) whole chapter. In others words, Dave, you do it, because who you are in Christ. When the world does their good works, it is because they "love their own".

Stripped bare, mentally , physically and spiritually. This means all the worldly conditioning, values, ethics , morals have to be removed. Any former mental trauma has to be removed, The love of the world and prosperity is long gone. Jesus must always be the first port of call, before mankind. If your told to do do something or believe something that doesnt align with the gospel, then disregard it. Spiritually means a true one on one personal relationship with Jesus Christ and removing everything you thought being a Christian was, oh and avoid ALL organised religions, they are manmade. The physical part is pretty obvious, and I am far from the only who has this mindset when we disrobe and stay that way. Our countenance seems to change when we go out in the world wrapped in the facade of the world, maybe is phsycological for some of us, but its working, and thats all matters. I have read many testimonies of others who have felt the same. Praise be to our mighty Lord and saviour.

All fruit is not works, and all works is not fruit. For example the Bible doesn't consider keeping the commandments a fruit.
But with Galatians 5 in mind, can you name a specific "fruit" that is not listed here?

22"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control."

[it did not say: "But the fruit of the believer"] is love, joy, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23. genetleness and self-control."

I do know, else in "Holy Scripture" it speaks of the "fruits of a Believer in Christ" that belongs to the "true Child of GOD" that only and ONLY can a special creature of this type can produce that has a "Heavenly birth" and that creature has to be "Born of God". Well, then you are "Perfect" then, you have become GOD the HOLY SPIRIT" You got everything GOD HAS, The Thrid part of the TRIUNE GOD! There is nothing LEFT for you to BE! No SIN is in You and you are incapable to sin. Or LIE!

But i will say, The Holy Spirit fruit belongs to the "Holy SPIRIT" and He excercise his fruit upon that person as a Love to that person as He pleases, and when that person needs that comfort. He comforts you, when you need it, with those adminstrations, For He is YOUR "Paraclete"! And He knows how and when to express them for your needs. He is to Minister to your aid "Personal" He is your "Advocate", Your "Paraclete", your Comforter" He intercedes for YOU. Evidence for who? You know if He is in you. He is powerful "dynamite"! He does not need a Back up, He lets HIs OWN presense known! He is the Anointing POWER! A drunk knows when the Alcohol effects hits him,, The drug addict knows when drug enters his veins. And when the Dental parient breathe in the Nitrous Oxide, They know it! Same as The Holy SPIRIT! His presense is known.. That is How the "SONs of GOD" knows the TRUTH!
With out that POWER how could we know the difference between lies and the Truth. False Phophets and the True Ones! We Have the Anointing" that is our decernment. Non-Sons of GOD do not have that Anointing or those who are sinning and not abiding in CHRIST. as The Children of GOD are commanded. And non=born again christians do not have the Holy Spirit in them. they know nothing of it. It is just a word to them.

And when you make a wrong move or say the wrong thing: IT Grieves the HOLY SPIRIT in YOU, and that feels ugly! and the feeling of UNCLEANESS! Even when you hear deceptive teachings it is like a pot of polution splash upon your head and you want to wash it off! and sometimes it stays on you for days like Skunk Oil. And you have to keep reading the Word of GOD to wash it off. People who do not have the "Spirit" of GOD in them knows nothing of this, because they are not of GOD. Neither can they understand you. They hear human words, and think they understand you, but they don't. The God of this world has blinded them and GOD has close their ears, that they are hearing and yet not hearing at all. because if some hear they will be converted.
