Well I'm planning on staying single the rest of my life and devoting my life to spreading the gospel, God called me to the mission field two years ago, but I struggle with something kind of embarrassing and it sounds like a middle school, health class, question. "Is it wrong to masturbate?" I'm not addicted and can do it without having lustful thoughts, but I just want to know if I'm upsetting God or not.

Do you not recognize the spirit of a lustful devil at play through masterbating?
No, your question doesn't offend me. I hear a lost soul. Read the Word, the answer is WITHIN.
Is masterbation not a pleasure of the flesh, young one?
All praise be unto God. Amen

Brother sosrya31 at your young tender age of 18 I know the pains well in this area when i was as young! And make no mistake about this either,it is not just males who struggle against this!! Here is what we know bro,and I will let you decide! Gal 5:17-21 I used to look to lie to myself about allowing myself this ah so called freedom. The problem we find out, and I am sure this is why you ask the question, that there has become more of a need to do this, then there used to be at the start of this.

The flesh brother is never full in and of itself,it is very much like a roaring lion who seems always hungry, even after it has been fed.The action which really seems to be a genuine need at the time, turns into condemnation. I have found the reason for this brother,is that every time we look unto our own flesh to satisfy our need,it only does so for a short time. We entertain the thought of doing far to long which always leads to the action associated with it.( 2 Cor 10:4-9!!!)

And we come to find brother that this desire in the flesh becomes a very large fortress in our mindset! We look to reason this as like a pimple on our face, and when we pop it,we feel so much better. But this pimple is far different brother,as you are finding out. What helped me greatly was when the temptation arises in the mindset,we quickly replace this temptation with scripture, even speaking a scripture out loud!

To prove a point to you,in your mind count from 1-20 after you get to about 5 or six, speak out loud your name! You lose count! By doing this you arrest the fortress from overcoming your mindset, and consider Phil 4:7-8 instead.( just an example of focusing ones mind upon something other then what your flesh desires.) We are a work in progress my brother, ( Phil 1:6) It will indeed take strong discipline, or what I call self control, part of the fruit of the Spirit!( Gal 5:22-25) verse 23! May this give you comfort from the pain of adulthood, and remain in peace upon this lasting truth, which has caused me and so many to be able to overcome against such a Goliath! The Word of God is not only to be read, but also spoken!! Ask Jesus when he himself was tested!!( Matt 4:1-11!!!) Blessing to you!

1 Corinthians 7:2-5. "But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way , the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. "

I'm convinced that this Scripture alone addresses your question.
Notice that this doesn't say abstain from it, but rather you must have mutual consent from your partner, because your body is no longer only your own. If you are not married, I would assume the right thing to do would be to abstain, because the Scripture does imply that this is sexual immorality. Because God made whoopie sacred between man and wife , anything else would be sinful.
1 Corinthians 7:9 "But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."

Please keep this Scripture in mind as well, because it speaks volumes.
1 Corinthians 6:20 “You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”

Not a lost soul, just working on myself. Trying to be sure what I do is Godly.

I think god made it a way to relieve ourselves without sinning. People also completely misinterpret what Jesus meant by look with lust also. Read this link
Is masturbation a sin?
Still don’t use porn. The people having sex in it are sinning so enjoying that is sinful.

You will live without it.

Bless you ....><>

Technically a Christian follower can most definitely masterbate!!! God gave us free will however.... you shouldn’t. It’s when we GIVE INTO temptations & don’t resist the Devil, is when it becomes full blown sin.

“Masturbation is committing sexual immorality in the mind and if in the mind, it is the same as with the body”

Most people even myself have explored the body we have. However it’s not even ours, it’s gods. I stuggle(ed) even now trying to understand why it’s not something he wants us doing.

Deny the flesh, feel the guilt afterward? suck right, stop God didnt make us to lust over pleasure of ourselves, in a sense it can be seen as adultary as a person is lusting over sexual feeling of himself, God made the feeling for marraige and trust me i was in the same boat as you. i tried it abit without thoughts and all that but its just feeding the flesh. Trust me stop now before you become desensitized to the guilt and before it becomes a bigger problem. stop now because now you know its wrong the devil with try to convince you that i and others are wrong but no dont listen to the evil one just quit it and if you get the temptation say "im not masturbating infront of Jesus, im not letting the devil win." because all it is - temptation.

God made a way for us to relieve ourselves, its sleep ejaculation, i think its in leviticus if im not mistaken. dont feed the flesh as your sinning against your own body, the Temple of the Holy Spirit, dont let the enemy make you think its ok, thus why we feel the guilt after, and if you dont you have become desensitised.

That is a lot I would like to talk about in Christ! But not the elementary things. That Christians talk about over and over again, that has been settle over 500 years or better ago.

This is coming from someone who had this problem it is shameful but that alone should tell you that it's wrong when Adam and eve disobeyed God in the Garden they hid themselves ,Why? because they were ashamed. Now because i beleived the word of God .I said it must have a verse that says we should'nt and if so i would stop .Flee fornication every sin that a man doeth is without the body ,but he who commits fornication sins against his own body .know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God and you are not your own ?Kjv 1 corinthians 6:19-20.Now if your going to say fornication is just the act of having intercourse with someone outside of marriage ,remember that you are also a someone .And though it may seem unharmful trust me it is more harmful than you think ,I hope this answers your question ,seek God's word always and he will direct you in the way you should go .Shalom

But each one is tempted by his lusts, being drawn away and seduced by them.
Then
when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin. And sin, when it is fully formed, brings forth death (James 1:14-15)

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk even as He walked (1 John 2:6).

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers (Romans 8:29).

My children, for whom I again travail until Christ should be formed in you, (Galatians 4:19).

But those belonging to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts (Galatians 5:24).

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

It would be best to address those scripture that actually does condemn masturbation as it is known today as a work of the flesh known as uncleanness Biblically. Look at the consequence.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Uncleanness
as located in between the sex sins of fornication and lasciviousness which lasciviousness is sexual excessiveness, masturbation cannot escape just because uncleanness is called by a different name today.

Those who defile the temple of God with the works of the flesh and remain unrepented when the Bridegroom arrives, shall be left behind to die, but their spirits will be with the Lord in Heaven to await for their resurrection afterthe great tribulation as vessels unto dishonor in His House.

2 Corinthians 5
:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Brother, know that Jesus can deliver you from this sin, but you need to recognize your need for Him to do that or you risk being left behind as excommunicated.

1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.... 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Romans 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Romans 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

2 Corinthians 12:21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren (Romans 8:29).

My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you, (Galatians 4:19).

For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world (1 John 2:16).

He who overcomes (overcomes the world) shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son (Revelation 21:7).

But those belonging to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts (Galatians 5:24).

Ask yourself, "Is that something Jesus would have done when He was alone with the Father?"

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked (1 John 2:6).

But the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons, (1 Timothy 4:1).

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7).

With thanksgiving to GOD our Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus (Colossians 3:17),........may GOD bless
