Which god is god?

There are many different religions which believe that their god is the one who created the world, such as muslims, buddahs etc. Each religion has their own version of what god is, and each varying in their own right. But surely there is only one god?! Only one master who created all of mankind, including all colour and creed. We all know this is Jesus and his father almighty. How can we be sure that the lord we believe in is what the gospel says and not what other religions conceive their god to be?

Kind regards,
kelley
The holy Spirit will direct you in your understanding as you pray, reflect and diligently seek Him. There is no other way to know except through the Spirit. Really drawing close to God in prayer and seeking Him and His will for your life will show you.

It is all about that relationship. I couldn't fathom it on my own although I thought I was quite smart and full of answers. I was wrong and there is no value in claiming I can know the Truth without God personally guiding me. It is His Spirit that will reveal His Truth to you.

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are wiithout excuse." (Ro 1:20 NIV)

It has been clear since the beginning of creation that there is a Supreme Being at work in the universe. However, men attempted to understand Him through their limited human intelligences. They developed their own concepts of the Power behind creation and wove intricate mythologies to support these concepts/gods. They worshipped inanimate objects, people, or animals instead of the one true God.

The Supreme Being behind creation is the Judeo-Christian God. We come to Him through faith in Him (See Heb 11:6 NIV) and we learn of Him through His revealed Word by the power of His Holy Spirit (see Jn 14:26 NIV). We provide the seeking hearts, He provides the rest. And when we come to Him through His Son Jesus, we come to know in the depth of our heart that He is who His Word says He is.
