I am not here to judge for only God knows the hearts of man. Only God can tell you whether you're living right. I'm just here to ask some questions. How many people in this day and time can say they're doers? A doer as in someone who not only claims salvation and Jesus Christ, but someone who actually walks in Christ footsteps. Are you someone who has put away evil, such as cursing, smoking, drinking, clubs and sex without marriage, who holds their body as a holy temple because they know Jesus dwells in them now.who lives to do the will of God not their own will? So many people say they know Jesus. But does Jesus know them? Are their names written in the Lambs Book Of Life? Are they leaving old friends behind because they see their leading them astray? Are they listening to music that glorifies God not women's bodies or themselves?Being a Christian is putting away old things and becoming a new person. We cannot call ourselves Christians and continue to live just like we did before we got saved. So ask yourself are you a hearer or a doer? Do you hear the word and live by it or do you just listen and receive? When you die and stand before the throne of grace will your name be in the book of life? Can you honestly say to God that you lived like Christ in righteousness?

Yes sister i totally agree with your questions
That we have to ask ourselves as His children, are we leading a life pleasing in his sight and doing his will in our day today life.
May the Lord help us to lead a holy life,in our thoughts ,deeds, words, actions.under the guidance of holy spirit.

I agree with much of your post: clarify maybe that 'drinking' means being drunk, as 'drinking' is not listed in the Bible as a sin in itself.
But more than focusing on ourselves- ask the questions: what are you doing in ministry? How have you prepared for the harvest? Have you helped the poor, the needy, the prisoners? When we get to heaven, will anyone up there say to you: "God used you to save me" ?
I agree that we must have godly lives in order for the world to see that we are different, and that we love unconditionally. But there's another step after that!!
Use the spiritual gift(s) that God has given to us.....
what an adventure!

Perhaps the question I ask myself should be, "Am I a true disciple of Jesus in the Biblical sense?" In other words, "Is the goal of my life to become like Jesus?"

"A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the student to be like his teacher and the servant like his master." (Mt 10:24)

To be conformed to the image of His son (Jesus) and being holy is tops. Seek and we will find, and knock and God will answer and help us. We need to seek each day, through prayer and through the Word of God.

1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified (To make holy) by the word of God and prayer.

We need to love what God loves and hate what God hates and follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Heb 5:14 ..............even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
2Thessalonians 3:5

Being a Christian is putting away old things and becoming a new person.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Philippians 3:8-11

Greetings,

May I add something to this post?

All that you have stated here will in no way get a person to heaven.... or better put, ensure and seal their eternal life.

Before you react, please listen....

Far too often we have this message of becoming a clean person being taught and preached as if it is the end of the need for a Christian to fulfill the role of a doer.

While we can not dispute the need to walk upright before God and man, there is a much deeper message that will not often get touched upon.

Let us go back before moving forward.... yes, as the Scriptures tell us,

All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof,
for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect,
throughly furnished unto all good works.

2Timothy 3:16 -17

James 5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
1Pe 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

We can begin to see the example we must follow....

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

John 13:13-17

Beloved,
tell me please what does it profit a person to appear decent in their lifestyle.... what can this achieve for them or any other on this planet, besides perhaps setting a good example for clean living to avoid a few of the pitfalls so common to man?

Look now to the Disciples, who we say we are.... yes?

All but one, died a gruesome death and suffered for the Gospel's sake.

They did not love their lives in such a way as to worry about what they ate or drank, or what they wore.... Our Lord made this very clear For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
Romans 14:17-19

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Revelation 12:10-11

Now, we are called to suffer with Him.... to bear fruit..... fruit which remains.... not things pertaining to the flesh.... and the fruit we must bear, can only be brought about through taking up your cross and following Christ..... and then rejoicing when things seem to go totally against you.

We must become new, and serve in newness of our minds, not just our behaviour. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Romans 12:1-3

Remember we are saved by grace...not works.

One thing that must be done, that the Scriptures are very sure of, is to love one another.
I have written these things, not to do away with what has been said, but to add to it....

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Romans 13:10-14

Bless you ....><>

Br. Bear

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which according to his abundant mercy
hath begotten us again unto a lively hope
by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

To an inheritance incorruptible,
and undefiled,
and that fadeth not away,
reserved in heaven for you,
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season,
if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
That the trial of your faith,
being much more precious than of gold that perisheth,
though it be tried with fire,
might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Whom having not seen,
ye love;
in whom, though now ye see him not,
yet believing,
ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Receiving the end of your faith,
even the salvation of your souls.

Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently,
who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify,
when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ,
and the glory that should follow.
Unto whom it was revealed,
that not unto themselves,
but unto us they did minister the things,
which are now reported unto you
by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost
sent down from heaven;
which things the angels desire to look into.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind,
be sober,
and hope to the end
for the grace that is to be brought unto you
at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

As obedient children,
not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
But as he which hath called you is holy,
so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written,

Be ye holy;

for I am holy.

And if ye call on the Father,
who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work,
pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,
as silver and gold,
from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

But with the precious blood of Christ,
as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world,
but was manifest in these last times for you,
Who by him do believe in God,
that raised him up from the dead,
and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

Seeing ye have purified your souls
in obeying the truth through the Spirit
unto unfeigned love of the brethren,
see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
Being born again,
not of corruptible seed,
but of incorruptible,
by the word of God,
which liveth and abideth for ever.

For all flesh is as grass,
and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.
The grass withereth,
and the flower thereof falleth away:
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.
And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

1Peter 1:3-25

Yes , I have given all those things up and I'm pleased with what the Lord is doing in my life.He saved me, sanctified me, and filled me with the Holy Ghost! I love Him so much that I, like the apostle Paul count all those things in my past nothing but dung.I sometimes wonder about people's priorities. What's more important God or the things of this world? Satan offers the world and the things in it,But he also offers eternity in hell.God offers life everlasting through His Blessed Son Jesus Christ. There is a false since of pleasure in sin for but a short while. Then there is misery and then eternal separation from God.May God Richly Bless You.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God. Colossians 3: 1-3

When we keep our eyes fixed upon the Saviour and daily kneel at the foot of His cross committing all to Him.....past wordly pleasures and earthly joys pale into insignificance. And as we are filled with His love our lives will shine with His radiance. And it is His love in our hearts which will reach out to the world and show Him in our lives.

This world is not my home, I'm just passing through.
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue.
The angels beckon me from Heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Luke 12:34

Blessings to all

I am a beggar,a sinner, confused when I find my self surrounded by thousands of Christians who were created for fellowship but instead this great majority of the spiritual stand afar and in a holy attitude they separate themselves from the boozers and losers, and instead of encouragement they give mass audience only to ridicule the fleshly sinner.Im afraid you have already passed judgement when you ask who I am.Until you become capable of taking on the sins of the whole world you shouldnt ask who we are,all you need to know is that we are and we are still here and there is still hope.I too have been making my observations and have concluded that there is to many cliques and way to many programs designed to bless some and condemn others....

QuietProtest's thread starter wasn't intended to get people to bare their issues publicly or to point fingers at people. It was and is a challenge to us to do some self-examination. I'm glad she started the thread. We need to be challenged to look inwardly from time to time.

Colossians 1:19-22
19 For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, 20*and by him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of his blood on the cross. 21*This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions, 22*yet now he has brought you back as his friends. He has done this through his death on the cross in his own human body. As a result, he has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

Ephesians 3:12
Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come fearlessly into God’s presence, assured of his glad welcome.

Ephesians 5:25-27
25*And you husbands must love your wives with the same love Christ showed the church. He gave up his life for her 26 to make her holy and clean, washed by baptism and God’s word.* 27*He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.

Hebrews 4:14-16
14*That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to him and never stop trusting him. 15*This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin. 16*So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it.

Hebrews 10:19
19*And so, dear brothers and sisters,* we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.

I should like to hope that none of us would answer "Yes! I am doing all that I should be doing!" to even one of these questions. It isin't even possible for us sinners, justified as we may be by the Lord's blood and sacrifice, that we could live well enough.

I can answer who I am (in a simplified way): I am an awful sinner who is saved by a great Savior!

I like this thread. I understand it's rhetorical. Thank you for posting!

Merry Christmas all!

As someone mentioned in an earlier post, it is not enough to be cleaned out:

"When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation." Matt 12:43-45

We also need to be filled, but with the right things:

"And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost." acts 13:52

May I suggest doing even better than this my brother, carlos marquez?

Let us look through the eyes of our Lord,

He is our head, and while we look with our eyes, as much as we might attempt to see righteously, we are always limited by our being only the Body, not suggesting it is not glorious, but we are only His Body as He is the Head.

Does that make sense?

So, when we look unto Him, and therefore look at others through Him, we see a completely different picture.... and if we also can listen, we will discover that our Lord in His love has His perfect plan for each person.... and as servants of our Lord, we can do what is required of us for His glory.

Another point, if I may mention it, is, about sinners....

the only difference between the old and new, is that the new have been transformed and delivered out of darkness, into His glorious light, and by faith, we are no longer subject to the law of sin and death.

Apart from that, which mainly means, apart from the love of God as opened unto us, while we were yet sinners, in the likeness of God, Jesus Christ, there is no difference between any man on this planet, in His eyes.

So, IF we see others as sinners, we are really at risk of judging beyond our position of grace offered freely to all who will recieve of Him in believing.

God is not a respecter of persons, and as soon as we realise this in fullness, we can begin to see all men as equally in need of a Saviour, and there is no other but Christ Jesus the Lord to save men from the wrath to come.

Bless you ....><>

Let us be careful what we say and what we do because all of our decisions are accompanied with a judgement.Br.Bear in response to your correction, I agree to disagree. When I used the word "rightiously"I was simply borrowing from the words of Jesus (John7:24) and to be more clearer, all Im saying is lets do our homework before we judge. And my refrences to sinning and sinners came as a response to Quietprotest addressing sinning Christians with a long laundry list of sins.Sins that included wrong music, shacking up,drinking, smoking, body worship and getting foot loose at the clubs.

Furthermore, I agree that that those who are in Christ are no longer under the wrath of God.But, I dont agree with your position on sinners and sin.I personally see my self as a sinner saved by God and solely by His grace. If we say we have no sin we are liars and the truth is not in us (1John1:8).Let me make this clearer for you - if we are not sinners and if the whole world is not sinning, then Christ died in vain and all your prayers and mine are useless. My friend, sin and sinners are the whole reason why judgement will begin with the house of the Lord (1peter4:17). Unless you and I acknowledge that we are christians and yet very capable of comitting sin, we will by any means walk away from this conversation justified ()Luke18:13-14. 1Timothy1:16)."Even so, on your part, when you have done everything that was assigned and comanded you, say,'We are unworthy servants[possesing no merit, for we have not gone beyond our obligation]';we have[merely]done what was our duty."(Luke17:10)

In Christ,

Carlos

Thank you for your comments, Carlos. If you re-read my post, you will perhaps see that I was not trying to disagree with you .... I was suggesting we go a step further in the direction we are to go if we indeed do follow after Him who gave Himself for us.... I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20

namely, to go beyond our seeing... (you stated... according to what we see) and see how the Lord sees the same situation. Likewise, I do not recommend we walk in sinners shoes, but rather have our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace (see Ephesians 6:15) and in His peace, again see how He sees.

As you may be able to see, I am not disputing what you are suggesting, but only recommending we do it His way... not ours... which you did touch upon .... We dont know their whole story But God does..

Now, you said....

But I dont agree with your position on sinners and sin,
I did not realise I had posted my position on sinners or sin, except to say what I did, Carlos..... which merely stated that we are under grace, and therefore who are we to judge others? Forgive me if I did not make this clear in what I wrote, please.

Perhaps you could tell me/us what sin is?

I know that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ( John 3:16 )
and from John 3:15 .... That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Just before answering you, Carlos, I was under the stars, thousands of them... and asking if perhaps any of them agreed to disagree .... and found they all agreed with one another.....

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

1Corinthians 1:9-10

Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

I for one believe the only way a Christian can judge anything is in recognition, and never in condemnation.

We are to encourage one another, reprove one another, knowing we also can be tempted, but never in condemnation.
Who are we to judge in that way another's servant?
God alone is able to keep one from falling, and he alone has the power to know a heart, and at what point of growth that heart is in.
Dont you think so also?
