Who has Label you a "Christian" have you label yourself or have someone else label you a Christian and by who's definition

There are Tares and Wheat (false and true Christians). So it is a broad term for both the saved and lost who go by that name. How do you know what you are?

The Tares look like believers but do evil and cause people to sin.

“The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.” (Matthew 13:41) NIV

“As therefore the tares are gathered and burnt in the fire: so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity: and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 13:40–42 (NCPB)
And Dave always remember, The Word of God will also be still be active after" The Rapture", The Bible will still be enforce and guide for those during "Jacob's Trouble". The Bible still will be enforce and a guide for the those on earth for The Sceond Return of Christ and for His Millennium Reign The "Holy Scriptures" are still active for guidance during the Thousand years. And after The Thousand years a War is brewing up and Just before "GOD" the FATHER sends that Fire from Heaven He will gather the "Elect" from all the Corners of The World"! Then send fire, and the casting and the Great White Throne will begin.

The Millennium stories are not in the Book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ, It is The UnVeiling of Jesus Christ that reveals the Rapture and Millennium reign recorded throughout The Old Testament. I figure I would share that with you my friend.

Note: "The New Jerusalem" is a Glorfied City' that came out of Heaven and sits in The sky in somewhat. The Citizens of That City are "Kings and Priests"! They Rule together with Christ with a iron Scepter. They do not rule over one another in the City. "For Christ is The King of kings". they are the ones who dwell in that City and there are gates to the city and They can go in and out. You can figure out the rest. remember those living outside of the city. for a thousand years..

in my mind in order to be a Real Christian one must be born again, but that does bring to me a question,,,,,,,,,, can a person be a christian but not YET to be born again ????????? but is on his way to becoming born again.

So know
I wonder is a Christian the same thing as being born again????????? I do not know,,,,,,, but I do know I am born again thank you Jesus, and I consider myself a Christian, so now would I consider someone who is not born again,,,, yet seeking Jesus a christian and the answer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, is YES I would :)

So now I have come to the conclusion you can be a Christian and not yet saved,,,,,,,,becoming a christian for many will be a stepping stone to there salvation through or lord Jesus

@Dave M -- Scripture tells us in John 3 that a person must be born again. -- the account of Nicodemus questioning Jesus entering the kingdom of heaven. A real Christian is one who follows the teachings Of Jesus. A person has to be born physically -- from his mother's womb -- and Then be born Spiritually. A person will Want to follow Jesus Christ when they are born again because the Holy Spirit will put that desire in the person's heart. There Will be a specific time in a person's life when they do acknowledge their personal need For salvation. Their heart's belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God -- that He died on the cross for our sins / shed His blood / was buried and rose again bodily on the 3rd day -- according to Scripture.

A person can be Looking for Jesus Christ -- but until He is Found -- he's still looking.

Consider for a moment -- at Christmas time -- there is a tree with lot of gifts under it. One with our name on it. Someone can hand it to us , but until we accept it -- take it in our hand -- it isn't ours yet. Or we reach under the tree and pick up the gift that is ours. We can recognize that that particular gift is Ours for the taking, but until we actually take that gift and say thank you for that gift / of salvation, it isn't ours yet.

Yes you can be a Christian if not born again but to get into heaven you MUST be born again as many are in hell for not doing this . There are many Christians in hell for backsliding, not being born again, and for not repenting. There is a misconception that " Jesus died for our sins" and they think that is enough but if we do not repent of our sins then the Lord died in vain. There was a man recently who was shown hell in a vision with our Lord Jesus accompanying him and His message was this " Go back and tell my people what you have seen here and tell them that hell is real. Mankind is falling here at an alarming rate for unrepentence and it is not necessary. I did not suffer on the cross for all these people to ignore my gift and come here anyways but once they die, the judgement falls and it is too late."

There was a man who was forgiven a GREAT debt by the King, and yet that man went out and demanded payment from another man and offered him no forgiveness, only cold fury at not being able to pay. Did the man stay forgiven by the King?

Maybe part of the 'problem' is how the term Christian is defined. There are lots of definitions in the dictionary. Anything from going to church on Easter and Christmas Sundays. Going to the family church that everyone has grown up in. And then there is the born again believer. Having accepted Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. Wanting to live a Christ-like life.

To me -- being a Christian has always been synonymous With being born again.

When the Holy Spirit is dealing with a person , there Will be a sorrow for sinning. There Will be repentence. If there Isn't -- then someone needs to loving approach that person with their concerns about a life-style or whatever they are doing after they say they are saved. Take time to talk with a person who 'goes forward' or just stays around 'for someone to talk to'. They might be hearing about salvation for the 1st time and Be searching. So stick with them. Don't just lead them in saying a prayer for the sake of. That is dangerous. They need to really understand what is taking place.

nope once the king found out what he done he threw him in prison, but I am not following your point??

I think the point is that the King had forgiven the man his debt in full. But then that same man went and demanded the man who owed Him money to pay up but that man was not able to pay His debt -- instead of following the Kings' example for forgiveness -- he was angry that the guy couldn't pay.

Because God has forgiven Us, we need to foregive Others. But that's not really what salvation is about. Our salvation is not dependent on anything we do to try getting the Kings' grace Of forgiveness.

Our salvation is not dependent on anything we do

Salvation is a gift becuase we are not capable of doing anything to earn salvation, that does not mean we wont do anything as proof of salvation.

you ever why Jesus says the way is hard and few find it??

Or why Jesus says we have to be worthy?

Or why Jesus say we will be refined, and purified>?

Jesus say we will obey

When our Lord the King, forgave us a GREAT debt and washed us free of the debt we worked hard to accumulate, if we accept that GREAT forgiveness of sin and dont forgive others.... well scripture teaches us what that means to us. If we take the forgiveness and proclaim ourselves one of the Kings beloved for His forgiveness of our sins, and make no changes to our lives that is seen in a "born again" believer (over time no doubt), perhaps we are that man who simply wanted forgiveness but really could care less about the King or His example to us.

When we refuse to let the prods of the Holy Spirit change us over a longer period of time, arent we that man?

With our salvation -- we will have the desire For going good things for God and that is what other's do observe in us.

Well -- as commented in the other thread -- with millions of people -- a few are quite a lot.

Well -=in and of ourselves we Aren't worthy. Upon our salvation -- God sees us through the blood of Christ. Justified. 'just as though we hadn't sinned'.

The process of becoming more and more like Christ would be God's purifying. us. Over time we become 'molded' / Refined. The more 'refined' we become the more Different from the world we will be / look.

We will obey because the Holy Spirit puts within us the Desire to obey Him. And when we Don't , the Holy Spirit Also gets our attention in some not-so-pleasant ways, sometimes.

Jesus, never gave a definition, what a christian was. Neither did the word, ever came out of His mouth. He never called anyone a christian.
And the word christian was only use 3 times in the "Whole Bible". And in the whole Bible, the only "child of God" spoke it or used it was "Peter and Luke". No other "child of God" is recorded using the word "christian" in the Bible.

Now Luke, had to recorded the "Acts of The Apostles" around A.D. 60, so Jesus had to had died around A.D. 30-34. So then, Jesus had to had died and went to Heaven about 30 years before the word "christian" was ever created. or the word used.

(Acts 11:).
22And the news about them reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas off to Antioch. 23Then when he had come and witnessed the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the Lord; 24for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And considerable numbers were brought to the Lord. 25And he left for Tarsus to look for Saul; 26and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came about that for an entire year they met with the church, and taught considerable numbers; and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

Now
in Chapter 26 of Acts, King Agrippa used the word "christian" but Apostle Paul didn't.

24And while Paul was saying this in his defense, Festus said in a loud voice, “Paul, you are out of your mind! Your great learning is driving you mad.” 25But Paul said, “I am not out of my mind, most excellent Festus, but I utter words of sober truth. 26“For the king knows about these matters, and I speak to him also with confidence, since I am persuaded that none of these things escape his notice; for this has not been done in a corner. 27“King Agrippa, do you believe the Prophets? I know that you do.” 28And Agrippa replied to Paul, “In a short time you will persuade me to become a Christian.”29And Paul said, “I would to God, that whether in a short or long time, not only you, but also all who hear me this day, might become such as I am, except for these chains.” [and Paul didn't used the word christian, but said: "might become such as I am":eyes:

Now the 3rd. time the word "christian" is used in the the Bible is Here in (1 Peter 4:16). where Peter records it around A.D. 65 about 5 years after Luke recorded it in "ACTS" around that Missionary Journey surounding "Barnabas who went to Antioch and during that time in about a year, when they 1st was called "Christians." still around 30 years after Jesus had died and Rose and Ascended into Heaven, before they ever were called "Christians"! or even heard the word mention before.

Now, is that not great "Exegesis" and it only came about, just by reading "The Holy Scriptures" and using common sense! and applying that sense in quietness.
No "Theological or Divinity degree in Religious Studies" or my Pastor said this or that. But make sure you have a good close to word for word "Translation" of the Original Copied Text" for Our Father has made it possible to be! For at one TIME a good Bible Translation of The Original Copied Text, costed more than a House.

(1 Peter 4:16).
16but if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not feel ashamed, but in that name let him glorify God.

And this is how Apostle Peter used the word "Christian". Once. And it is recorded no where else or is it recorded anywhere Peter ever used it again. In "Holy Scripture"

Followers of Jesus Christ where called "The People of The WAY" You will find the term "The Way" through out the New Testament.

This is only for The Edifications of The Saints of GOD, and at no time to Strike any Offense against the word "Christians" in honor to Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Shalom.

What exactly Is "The UnVeiling of Jesus Christ" is that a book? or what. The Millennium stories?

Also -- in Acts 11:26 "And when he had found him, he bought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch."

Why do people think, once they have become born again, they have become good creatures. the Holy Spirit starts the process of "Sanctification and Holiness' The Holy Spirit that has come into us begins pointing "Our SINS" out! and we begin the Walk of Repentance. He shows the evil-ness in us! that process continues until you leave this earth! There is none righteous, there is none that does good! We must work out our "own Salvation"!

A constant life of Repentance we grow into Holiness, it is a constant Battle! The Flesh is a enemy of ours and Our Father! The Cross is constant cross, There is no way I would count myself a worker of Good works. I would not even think of such a thought of myself. For we let the good works speak for itself! and we remain silent! But let it have, it's perfect work in us!

You show me a person who blows their horn about good works, i will show you a person that is filled with pride and talks honor about their deeds of righteousness that is nothing more than a righteousness as if they were filthy rags. and those rags are always it seems hanging from my pockets dripping and hanging over.

(Romans 7)
For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the wishing is present in me, but the doing of the good isnot. For the good that I wish, I do not do; but I practice the very evil that I do not wish. But if I am doing the very thing I do not wish, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me. I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wishes to do good. For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind, and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.

The People of This World belongs here, and they measure themselves by their "good works" and they compare their good works amongs themselves and feed upon that gratification among themselves. but God shall judge the True heart and the Truth Motivation of all our endeavors and He will weight in the Balances of the True intends of our hearts. The things that mankind hides in the dark night of their hearts, shines bright as the Stars at night so clear in His sight!

Let the World be the World, but fix us Lord Jesus Fix Us! Come Quickly! Come

What exactly Is "The UnVeiling of Jesus Christ" is that a book? or what. The Millennium stories?
It is "The WORD" In English. are you Mocking me? or do you think I just play with words, I am not going to take that bait, you are trying to get me in trouble:p

Also -- in Acts 11:26 "And when he had found him, he bought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch."
you must have not read it all, Acts 11;26 I present it too!

When a person becomes a born again believer -- we become new creatures / creations in Christ.

There is no way I would count myself a worker of Good works. I would not even think of such a thought of myself. For we let the good works speak for itself! and we remain silent! But let it have, it's perfect work in us!

I think I get what you are saying, the humble will know it is not our flesh but Jesus Spirit in us that produces any good works that the bible tells us. Doing good works is from Christ in us, yet we do have responsibility to battle the flesh when it tries to make us wear of doing it, yet it is Jesus we must rely on to battle our flesh, yet we do have responsibilty,

Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

2 Thessalonians 3:13
As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
