Hello, I have put in here just a very, very brief understanding into why the Jews are hated. There are two main avenues to look at, I have just touched on them.
When Israel was disobedient to God He would send a nation against Jerusalem. He did this with the Assyrians as per Isaiah 10 and when King Hezekiah humbled himself before God on behalf of the nation He turned and came against those very ones He allowed to go against Israel as per Isaiah 36 and 37. Then there was the Babylonian exile where God sent King Nebuchadnezzar against Jerusalem (Jeremiah 34). Daniel was captive in Babylon over this period so it would be good to read the book of Daniel to see the different nations that came against Israel in those days. There was Babylon, the Medes and Persians, the Greeks under Alexander and the Romans.
In the last days we see under the global Roman Empire, which is where we are today, where the nations all come against Israel. This may not seem like it is happening but if you look at the UN Security Council resolutions against Israel it is quite obvious. The land was promised to Abraham and it was given to him and his Anthro- pathological descendants, which is the Jewish people. The so -called Palestinian’s have no claim to the land and it never even belonged to them. It was the land of Canaan. If you go onto YouTube you will find numerous videos on this subject dispelling the false claims. The archaeological evidence is overwhelming in favour of Israel, yet the nations of the world are all leaning towards the lie.
God Himself brings the nations against Israel in the last days of history as we will know it (I have touched on this at the end of this teaching (Zech 14)). This is because Israel rejected her Messiah, Jesus Christ, when He came the first time. The religious Jews at that time chose an insurrectionist/robber, Barabbas, rather than their true king.
I have put hereunder something that would help to understand why the Jewish nation is hated and why there is a growing antisemitism in the world. In fact, it has been there from the very beginning.
Gen 3:14-15 (ESV)
14) The LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life.
15) I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
It all started in the Garden. Once Adam and Eve sinned God pronounced a judgement on mankind as well as on the serpent. The serpent had Satan behind it but, the serpent is also a metaphor for those in false religion (its head is Satan). Both John the Baptist and Jesus called the religious people in Jesus’ day vipers (Matt 3:7; Matt 12:34; Matt 23:33). Instead of Adam and Eve recognising that they had sinned and turning to God for mercy they attempted to hide their sin in self-righteousness. This is seen in their attempt to cover themselves with fig leaves and by hiding in the garden. God had to provide a covering for them because their self-righteous deeds would not be sufficient to cover the sin they had committed. Without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness of sins. We see that in Gen 3:21 God provided for them coats of skin to cover their nakedness. This was not only to cover their physical nakedness because lust had now come into the world it is also pointing to the garments of salvation only found in Jesus Christ. A perfect man would have to come and die for those sins so, God became a man and did just that.
An animal was sacrificed and animals at that stage had no blemish or defect. However, the animal could not take away the sin it would only be a substitute until the seed mentioned in Gen 3:15 was revealed in the flesh (Hebrews 10:1-3). This was what we see in John 1:1-5 + 14 : God would become a man and being a perfect person in the form of Jesus Christ (the logos, the living Word) would atone for the sins of mankind - 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
The seed of the woman does not only point to Miriam (Mary) who would be impregnated by the Holy Spirit (this is not a physical act) and who would give birth to the Son of God (Is 9:6-7), it also points to Israel out of whom would come the promised saviour. In both instances of the seed in Gen 3:15 points to a single seed. From these two seeds would see the multiplication of two types of persons, those who put their trust in the Jewish Messiah (Jesus Christ) who would come out of Israel and those who are of the first Adam who would put their trust in a man possessed by Satan. These seeds would multiply on the earth and both would grow up until the harvest at the end (Matt 13:24-30 and 36-43). Satan is known as the seducer and the dragon. If he cannot seduce people into rejecting or moving away from God and His Son, Jesus Christ, he will become a dragon and persecute those who do not.
The judgement of God mentioned in Gen 3:15 was directed at the serpent who would physically be changed to crawl on his belly and eat the dust of the ground all of its life hence, we see all snakes are without feet of legs. It also points to Satan who was behind the serpent and the judgement was to be on him and his seed (antichrist who will want to be worshipped in the place of Christ). Therefore, all those who remain in the first Adam are still under the curse and are still under condemnation (John 3:17-18 - 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God).
So, what do we see from the above, there is a war between the two seeds. Spiritually these two seeds are Jesus Christ and Satan. So, from that time on there has been a conflict between those who are in Christ and declare His name and Him as King and those who are still in the first Adam who reject Jesus Christ and want to be governed by their own ruler hence, he is called Antichrist – which does not only mean against but also instead of. When we read Isaiah 14:12-14 and Ezek 28:1-19 we see that Satan wants to rule from above the stars of God and place himself in the seat of God having made his heart like the heart of God. He wants to rule over creation in the place of God. He wants to rule from the throne of God on earth and that is in Jerusalem! How is he going to achieve this? First of all this man possessed by Satan is going to be religious and he will embrace all the religions birthed out of Babylon, the mother of harlots. These harlots are false religions who seduce people into their fold (Rev 17). False religions and false Christian denominations are the single biggest means of deception that Satan has placed on the earth. Literally, billions of people are caught up in these false religions and they will ultimately serve and worship Antichrist and who is behind him – Satan. The true church will be in the manner seen in Ephesians 4.
God promised Abraham that he would have a son and from the son would come a nation who would be like the stars of heaven and the sand on the shore. These two point to two different types of people. The stars of heaven are all those who have put their trust in Jesus Christ and are the children of Abraham (both Jew and gentile) in the spiritual sense. The sand on the seashore points to the physical people of Israel. They come down from Abraham, Isaac and to Jacob. Out of Jacob comes the twelve tribes of Israel – the patriarchs. The genealogy from Abraham to Jesus Christ, the Son of God is found in Matt 1. Jesus calls 12 disciples, eleven of which become Apostles who were given the great commission to go make disciples in Matt 28:18-20. At Pentecost, these Apostles go out and lay the foundation of the New Testament brought about by the Blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross (Jer 31:31). Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone.
When Jesus was crucified on the cross Satan thought that he had now killed the promised seed God had said would come in Gen 3:15. However, the actual crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the cross defeated Satan and death (1 Cor 15:55 -55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”). The perfect had come and redeemed those who were lost and without hope. Satan thought that he had extinguished the light (Gen 1:3-5 – this light was not the sun and the moon or the stars these came later in Gen 1:14-19 as expounded in John 1:1-5 and 14). The promise God made to Satan in Gen 3:15 was fulfilled.
Additionally, we see in Rev 6:11-17 that the earth has become so spiritually dark (a metaphor for the lack of the light of the gospel going out and sin reigning) that the gospel can no longer go out and the resurrection and the removal of the true church takes place. Satan has so convinced the world that there is no need for the true God or His Son (Psalm 2). Here again, Satan thinks He has extinguished the light but not so. God will never, ever allow unrestrained evil, in the form of Satan and his demons, to reign. The Day of the Lord commences and, the wrath of God comes on the earth through the Son.
Having come this far in the teaching it only goes to say that Satan, using those who were still in the first Adam and the religious, persecuted Israel right from the beginning. It was the religious people of Jesus’ time that plotted against Him to kill him. Read the parable of the vineyard (Matt 21:33-46). They are the chosen people and nation that God would bring the promised seed and who would be the ones who would write down scripture as per the law of Moses, the Psalms and the prophets Luke 24:44. Satan has wanted to destroy Israel, which we see Hamas, Iran and others still wanting to do that today. They will never succeed read Zechariah 12-14. According to Zech 11, Matt 24, Rev 12, Rev 13 there is going to be an all-out attempt by Antichrist to utterly destroy Israel and the true church in order to prevent the second coming of Jesus Christ. This would be Satan’s last chance to annihilate little Israel.
Eventually two thirds of Israel’ people will be killed with only one third remaining and these will be saved when they call on their Messiah whom they rejected (Zech 12:10; Zech 13:8-9). Even though this is Satan’s work God has allowed it to bring Israel to humble themselves before Himself. Zech 14 says that all the nation’s armies will come against Israel and that this is from God but once they have repented and called on their Messiah God will turn and destroy those armies. There is a distinct difference between Zech 14:1-2 and verse 3. It is between verse 2 and 3 that Israel repents and calls on Jesus Christ their Messiah. A picture of this can been found in Isaiah chapters 10, 36 and 37).
I have given this in a nutshell. There is a whole lot more that can be said. For instance, from the time of Pentecost to now the true church, consisting of both Jew or gentile, has been persecuted terribly by both world leaders and the religious. This is a period over the past 2000 years. They upheld the name of Jesus Christ and preached salvation in Him alone. They taught about His death, burial and resurrection and He, being the first fruits of that resurrection, shows all those in Him will be resurrected at the appointed time too.
I hope that I have put this in an understandable way and that this will be an eye opener for all those who read it.
