Why is it many a preacher man says the law has been abolished, but yet they try to bind their congregations by the law of tithing?

Could it be the preacher man is using the words of God deceitfully in order to fleece the flock?
Just curious, if you do not mind, what year were you "Born from Above" and how long have you been in "the battle" or as the song writer wrote, How long have you been on "The Battle field" for your "LORD". and I am mentioning that song, because I see your are from "Tennessee" and that song you might be familiar with.

kindly asking.

I was water baptized around 1982, but I was not born again from above until 2007. It was quite an amazing experience, but I’ve found when I tell others about it, even those who call themselves Christians, it usually triggers a negative response of disbelief. Even as it did with you.

We receive the fullness of grace the complete reward of salvation from the first hearing of Christ's faith or labor of His love. Nothing can be added to it or taking away from it as it is written

There is no whosoever is the greatest get venerated the highest . . . hierarchy of dying mankind .

He gives us little of His faith calling us of little faith (power) as a golden mesure .Gold used as a metaphor in parales to represent the faith of Christ. .

He is the storeroom

Matthew 16:8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?

We cannot force the hand as the will of God .The key is two working as one .First to hear and secondly empower to do it to the good pleasure of God .

hearing or seeing the temporal (mixing of the two ) shows God doing all the work . no mixing no gospel

hebrews 4: 1-2 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

No not at all :pensive:

I know the Word I was just saying not all do receive even when they hear the Words spoken.....

The "Preacher man" is starting out with a LIE. The Law is eternal, and HAS NEVER BEEN ABOLISHED.

One aspect of being BORN AGAIN, however, is that the "Flesh" has been crucified, and the old sinful man is DEAD, and beyond the effects of the law. We've Judged ourselves, and the "old man" has passed away. The "NEW MAN" is in Christ, and positionally perfect before God. (Gal 2:20)

"Tithing", of course IS NOT a "law" like it was for Israel. But the principle is the same. we give to support the ministry, and as Rom 14 teaches, what you do in FAITH is valid, and if you can't do something in FAITH, then doing it would be SIN.

AND YES!!!! some "ministries" DO FLEECE their flocks. But the existence of the PHONY doesn't eliminate the existence of the REAL, and Tithing is a good principle. It's stood our family in good form for most of the last 58 years. The Assemblies of God is a essentially a "Missionary Society", with branches in all countries, and many schools and seminaries around the world. That requires financial support. We're only 6 mil in the U.S., but over 70 mil outside the 'States.

Thanks brother.
Ya hit the nail on the head.
I came away from a church that started out good then the pastor turned in to a dictator. All we ever heard was tithe. After utilities and such were paid, the rest went to him and girlfriend secretary.
I quit tithing and would put a money order in the plate made out to electric company. But as you say, there are some good churches. Hope to find one.

Seek the Lord on this y'all. Fast and pray if that is what it takes because I tell you from the Word and mouth of God Himself, we ARE REQUIRED to tithe. Those who do not tithe will have various curses placed upon them. Know for certain, according to the Word and will of God, tithing has NOT be abolished.

Seek the Lord.

So how many priest Tithe other priest?? I still ain't seen where it says they do this..

He tells us woe to those who depends on flesh
R you depending on preacher man to do right with what u give Him??
He tells us to help the widows the fatherless the elderly poor...
He tells us don't b like the hypocrites that wanna be seen worshipping on the corners..

I don't see where He tells His children we must pay man to repeat His Word..

I see He says what I give I give for free

I see where He says bring it all to the store house..

I don't give the gifts that YH give me away to a preacher that's gonna pay an electric bill or support a dead building or that don't even know how congregations names...

There r so many homeless n fatherless elderly n sick all around why would one not help them instead of feeding a preacher man that owns a building

People can give their money away to whomsoever they wish, but the law of the tithe was the portion of the harvest that was given to the Levitical priesthood, which was a sign of spiritual things to come.

God said He did not want their carnal sacrifices and offerings…

Psalm 40:6
Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

Hosea 6:6
For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Matthew 9:13
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Matthew 12:7
But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

Hebrews 10:1
For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

Hebrews 9:9-10

King James Version

9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.”

Hebrews 13….

9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.”

15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
