Hello fellow Christians,

As of the the past few months, my lovely wife Martha, has been contemplating attending the local community college. I, being a loyal Christin consulted my Bible. I am a religious man you see and wish not to Displease Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.

It says in t says in Corinthians 14:34-35:

I
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

With all this liberal socialization and all these women hanging around men and what not, I am concerned that allowing my wife to attend will not only harm her, but others around her, like myself and other gentlemen of virtue. I am also concerned that if I allow her to attend, she might set a bad example for other women, this upsetting His law.

Now, I know in the Book of John, The lord is described as having met, and interacted with a foreigner of the female gender, but what should I make of it?

I have rad a number of examples in both the Old and New Testaments intructing those of the male gender to reign over their wives, daughters and other female relatives. In addition to this:

1 Timothy 2:11-12

11 A woma should learn in quietness and full submission.

12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;she must be quiet.

The presence of the I in first person implies that the following was said by Our Lord and Savior.

Would enlisting her in online classes be more acceptable?

I have to disagree-sometimes a woman is forced by circumstances to make her own way in life--if her husband leaves her,she needs the skills learned through education to support herself and her children.
I see no harm in your wife furthering her education--husbands and wives should be equal partners

Context, context, context. The verse you are referring to was stated by paul in an era where women were not seen equally as men. Women were not allowed in any real position of power and were treated as property to a degree. THIS is a perfect example of that. My pastor is a woman and our church has a strong membership and do many great things and move within the spirit. If women werent allowed to do so God would have never allowed my churches success. Nonetheless, God will not condemn anyone for wanting to be more knowledgeable of Him

The housework will probably not be neglected as long as two equal partners are sharing it.

Sometimes a woman doesn't have any choice. If her husband should leave her, she's the only one left to earn a living. If she were to follow what you suggest, both her children and herself would starve in a home brimming with good housekeeping.

It matters not..

The book of the bible was written by man but it is the word of Jesus, and those telling you to neglect the word of Jesus are sinners and will burn in hell. Jesus would not tell you your wife was less than equal unless he really thought himself, that women were less than equal. And it has been written, and is written, and the word of the bible, is the word of our master's lips. Obey.

There is nothing wrong with a woman going to school. I highly respect and support woman furthering their education.

I think college is a pretty good reason to miss some housework, you are more than capable helping around the house.

Ultimately I believe it's HER decision, not yours.

I plan on college eventually after I get my GED, my fiancé supports that fully, I know he will be there every step of the way.

I'm defiant to the word of God because I want to learn? That is ludicrous. I'll be happy in my spot in heaven thank you very much.

If you are serious about what you said, I feel sorry for you.

What ways need "fixing"?

College education is meant for all. Not just men, Sorry.

I'm sorry I'm not understanding you. I'm still fit to further my education though, what better reason to learn, to gain understanding.

Wonderment

I am going to be honest, this seems like a joke to me. But if I am wrong and you are serious I apologize for even thinking that. One question: where is the love? Jesus Christ is love, dont forget to add that into the calculation.

I have to agree with SammyDavis. the Allowing women to roa,m free has allowed them to get mixed up with se addicts and their ilk.

Do you ever hear of porn in the Taliban or crazyackywackystan? I think NOT!

And by the way, I am not advocting the Islamic devil religion. I am just saying that we should strive to go back to the good old days back in 1950,before this...pornographicvcraze.

Pretty sure most porn is made by men, NOT women, women being educated is in no way responsible for porn..

I don't think it's a joke. I think William is a very smart individual, and takes the bible for what it says, and takes it for what it's worth. Women should not speak in church, and should stay home. William hasn't denied your way of taking the Bible, has he? :)

ha..it this is SUCH a joke. I thank you all for the laugh.

I guess I'm only supposed to be a chef and a baby maker.

Very good then, that's the first step to becoming a great woman. I think you and Vermin are a joke for criticizing someone else's lifestyles. :)

Alice, youre 19, you live in maine (im sorry you are from the sheltered land of old money) but lets say... You need money.. Why does a women need money? Excessive things. Cars and "college tuition". A girl like you knows the easiest way to get money is to play on the capital of sin, and engage in porn. So you hunt out the male "directors" of such things, and ***** yourself for dineros.
In fact, most of the heterosexual porn ive watched was based on the premise that the girl needed college money. Education for women results in the advancements of girls turning themselves to underground film.

Watch out, your ignorance is showing..

I agree. Although some women are able show them off like that, it has come to my attention that many women venture to that sin, even 'experiment' with it.

And the ones who ARE able to afford the tuition are of a more wealthy upbringing, wealth beng something many do not, hence why you see this cycle of sin.

The wealth is corrupting us just as much as pornography and all that liberal, democratic filth.

And Alice, I beg to differ, YOUR ignorance is showing
