Nothing wrong with a woman working the corner, as long as it's in my kitchen.
I'm sorry if you feel the need to judge me. My wife's priorities are making me food, and mine are making the money. I'm sorry if my oldfashioned ideals upset you.
I'm not upset at all,Mr Handy-I just feel bad for your poor wife-
you are not taking her seriously as the full and equal human being that she is. Comments like the ones I've been reading make me glad to be divorced.
My priorities are to make the money,not to be sinful or shocking to old-fashioned beliefs, but because of the need for survival. If I wasn't out there earning my own way with honest work I seriously doubt that anyone would magically support me.

I'm the breadwinner, she doesn't have to worry about survival, plus She makes plenty of friends at church, how is this bad? Plus if you're not looking for someone to support you it's not gonna happen. Keep looking for Mr. Breadwinner.

(and I'm not sure if WilliamR was banned as well) but sweeping genuine issues under the carpet to avoid 'arguing' isn't christ like at all.
In fact it's a big mistake. How do you think abuse happens in the first place. Ignoring it doesn't make it go away. Elements in the church have gotten away with abusing women for centuries because people wern't willing to deal with the real issues. Power struggles, corruption in leadership and oppression. The truth is the truth. If you use someone, you use someone, and if God is love, that is not his way. Deal with it or wear the consequences.
