In Matt. 24:15, some have noticed how the modern per-versions add the tiny suffix of -ing to the word stand, thereby shifting the focus to some anthropomorphic image in a rebuilt temple. Oh, they may indeed rebuild some temple, but the glory of the Lord departed from that temple a long time ago and it's not coming back.
When one turns to modern corrupted copyrighted “versions,” sourced from corrupted and rejected manuscripts and written by unsaved men, confusion results.
Further, seeking Hebrew and Greek lex-icons doesn’t bring clarity, it brings death.
And context is everything.
stand = histemi, a verb.
The word for stand appears the following number of times: stand 116 times, set 11, establish 5, stand still 4, stand by 3, misc 17, vr stand 2; 158
There is no “standing” in Matt. 25:15 -- rather, it is what The Holy Bible says it is i.e. stand.
It is the believer who is now the temple of the holy place, as it is God's Holy Spirit who resides in him.
They may rebuild some temple, and they may place some image in that rebuilt temple, but neither the physical rebuilt temple nor the physical image is the abomination which makes desolate. The glory of the Lord departed from that scenario a long time ago, and it's not coming back -- that prophecy was fulfilled.
Again, the abomination itself will not be “standing” anywhere; rather, it is the believer, when he sees the resumption of animal sacrifice, who is to remain firmly standing in his position in Christ.
The abomination is the resumption of animal sacrifice which makes desolate the completed bloodwork/sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
