A discussion about believing you are born again

I guess I took your user name seriously.
And yes,I do everything possible for God every day.
You see, I am not a sinner anymore.
God granted us the gift of repentance from evil works.
He granted us the gift of the Holy Ghost too, as our guide and Comforter.
He granted us preachers and teachers and brothers to fellowship with.
He hears the prayers of the righteous, and we can take those prayers right to the throne of God.
He will not leave us nor forsake us.
It is written..."There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Cor 10:13)
No man will be tempted with anything he is incapable of rejecting.
Technically your not a sinner if someone has taken your sins from you and absolved them.

Amen, and thanks be to God.
With that absolution, God has provided the truly repentant with the gift of the Holy Ghost.
A Comforter and help in our continued walk in the light.

But in saying that you have to realize that you must break the law time to time, which are absolved and forgotten by him if you remain in a relationship with his son.

So there is no sin he sees in you while your in Christ but sin found in you out of Christ, in fact you will not be Judged for your sins altogether, only for the rewards of your works.

If this was true, then you could never be judged for leaving Christianity. You would only be judged for "rewards of your works".
as you say... a win - win for you.

  • In the Old Covenant days , sin was covered over from the eyes of God during the "Day of Atonement" by, among many things, the slaying of an unblemished lamb for the atonement of sins , to be continued the next year, for thousands of years.
  • You are correct, if in Jesus, God does not see your sin. In the New Covenant, Jesus, being found unblemished and the "Lamb of God", ushered in a New Covenant, by which he he died and was the final atonement for sins, there will be no other. He did not cover over the sins of man from God, he took away the sins from God's sight!
  • James is right, there is no true faith with out works.....most assuredly one of the works is believing and found to have Jesus in you.
  • It is a spiritual thing: So Jesus finished his work at the Cross and , like no other High Priest before him...he sat down.
  • Without Jesus life is temporary and , with Jesus, life is eternal.

But in saying that you have to realize that you must break the law time to time, which are absolved and forgotten by him if you remain in a relationship with his son.
Why "must" I still commit sin?
Having read all the scriptures pertaining to Christ's victory over sin, and my being made one with Him, there is no reason for me to go back to the wickedness I have "turned from".

He sees no sin in us...if we don't commit sin.
We don't ever have to be "out of" Christ.
Thankfully He has provided the ways and means of achieving that kind of life.

In Christ, out of Christ, you're all human in the end. Your belief's don't make you anything less or more. You may perceive that faith in something makes you a better human, but ultimately being a better human is just to be human.

Not at all a better 'human'.
I have been reborn, not of Adam's seed but of God's.
Jesus is not ashamed to call me brother.

I can supply the scripture locations if you really are interested in turning from sin.
Jesus has paid the price for your past sins, if you will subject yourself to Him for the rest of your time on earth,
That subjection allows you all the power of God's love.

But in saying that you have to realize that you must break the law time to time, which are absolved and forgotten by him if you remain in a relationship with his son.

Do not people, that is believers, actually move in and out of Christ according who they choose to follow in a given moment for a given situation? When we quench the Holy Spirit of God in us that would be moving out of Christ. When we come together with others and get into the Spirit in His name, then we have moved back into Christ. This is a yo yo situation which I believe exists in too many people who have come to God. We need to get past that and without God's help we cannot. We need to be asking Him to keep on the Highway of Holiness with our eyes focuses on the Lord all of the time. Help us Lord!

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matt 7:7-8

In my opinion, as long as we are human we will continue to sin.
Indeed, as long as we are in this veil of flesh we can choose to continue to sin, but what happens if we ask God to help us to get past this human frailty? Is God not able to do it?

I guess I believe that He is able to do anything, but I am not aware that He intends to do such a thing. I have been taught that we are Sinner/Saints.

NO!
Only posers do that.
Pretending they are servants of Christ, but still serving sin. (2 Peter 2:19)

Yo-yo's have not "come to Christ".

You've been taught a lie.
Sinners and saint are at war...with the opposing kings of their particular dominions.
Will you continue to follow the weaker king?

It is impossible for a person to be "born again", and not know it.

1Jn 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

1Jn 4:6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

You got that right.
However, some think they are born again without the witness.

Jesus tells about four different types of people you will find in every Church. Only one brings forth fruit unto salvation, and all the others endure for awhile, and others hear the Word but satin steals the word. There is one type of person who receives the Word but never produce any fruit unto salvation, yet they never fall away either. The Church today are filled with people like these who think they are saved, but are not.

Mar 4:18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
Mar 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

Your assertion is born out by Jesus in Matt 7:22-23..."Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Those who claim to be of Christ, but don't quit committing sin, will eventually find out that they were in the group that brought forth no fruit.
