A Serious Question!!!!!

In the name of Jesus!!!
Why not just accept wrong? like the Word of God says.
Why defile self because of what comes out of the mouth?
Is the words you speak... as it becometh the gospel of Christ?
Lord have mercy!
Get over self and the Holy Ghost will lead us into ALL Truth.
All praise, glory and honor be unto God. Amen

IT WAS NOT JESUS FAULT EITHER; but He made no reputation for Himself, He just went along with those who were offended and wanted to kill Him. HE was struck, but did not strike back. He was spit on, but He did not spit back. He was carried to be tossed down the hill headlong, but HE did not throw them down the hill before they could throw Him down the hill. HE was carried to a cross and nailed to it, but HE did not resist them.
Is anyone getting it yet?
Lord have mercy upon us ALL. Amen

If betrayal is not forgiven, then none of us are saved.

The blood of Jesus forgives us of ALL our sin.

Colossians 2:13
You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins.

1 John 1:7-9
But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Luke 24:47
It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’

.

Brighthouse....why do you accuse me or others of throwing stones? Calm down.

Well, here I am again and I must disagree:oops:
Brother, we were forgiven some 2000+ years ago on the cross! Actually, before that, before the foundation of the universe!

I am wondering if you have scripture that specifically states this?

Did i mention anyone's name?? I am not mad at all! And please do not direct me. If the shoe fits wear it!

Oh man...

Well, it doesn't fit, so i'll go barefoot, thanks.

I was just responding to the OP

Anyway, have a blessed day.

I am wondering if you have scripture that specifically states this?
You mean?:
  • we were forgiven some 2000+ years ago on the cross! Our sins were forgiven by the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Are you serious, you mean you need scripture for this? This is the foundation of forgiveness.
  • Actually, before that, before the foundation of the universe! You mean , from your Biblical knowledge, you question the power of God to know who or who does not choose him from before the foundation?

Using words to hurt others unless so led by the Lord is not righteous and comes from the darkness inside you. Follow the Spirit.
Brad, are you talking to me !?...What words to hurt. I simply asked about his words, not mine. He used the word "problem"...beside being his word, which is not "hurtful", I was simply asking him to explain....what are you talking about and please, you be careful of saying hurtful words like: "darkness inside you"!

You have no darkness inside you? My mistake, I was listening to the Holy Spirit.

What I mean is... why would you proclaim something without something in the Bible to back it up?
Why would you proclaim it as a Biblical truth if it isn't in the Bible.

If we were all forgiven before the foundation of the earth... why did there need to be animal sacrifices
and a passover lamb?
If we were all forgiven from before the foundation of the earth, why did we need a savior? Why did Jesus
even need to be born?
If we're forgiven before the foundation of the earth, why are we told to repent and confess our sins?

God may not be constricted by time, but we are. God may know the future but we don't.
Albert Einstein once said the reason time exists is so that everything doesn't happen at the same moment.
God may be omnipotent and omnipresent, but we aren't. We can't do everything we need to do in our life
in one second. Time exists so we have time to do the things we need to do. (especially the things we do for God).

To assume that you are already forgiven, is to assume that you don't need to ask for forgiveness.
Why would anyone preach anything like this? Especially when they don't have any scripture to back it up?

Say what?:eek::eek::eek::confused:

The Holy Spirit motivated me to say that in post 29. Then I had to grin after your response that you seemed to imply that there is never any darkness in you, you know those parts nearly all believers have, but dont like to talk about. But they are why becoming more Christlike is a process. Why did Peter who loved Jesus so, and had strong faith, deny him three times before the rooster crowed? Because there was found darkness in him, darkness that was crucified shortly after he cried and repented. Then another darkness when he sat apart from the gentiles and that darkness was crucified when he repented and said there should be no seperation between them. And then all the times not written of. I know I have darkness in me from time to time that I have to crucify.

Why would you proclaim it as a Biblical truth if it isn't in the Bible.
Who said it was not in the Bible. Why so much skepticism, What does it mean that he died once for all?....Don't you know your Bible?
Ephesians 1:4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
Romans 8:29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers
Ephesians 1:11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will
2 Timothy 1:9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,
1 Peter 1:20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you
Do you need more?
Since I did my due diligence, why don;t you show us scripture that refutes these?
If we were all forgiven before the foundation of the earth... why did there need to be animal sacrifices
and a passover lamb?
You will have to ask God someday. It was his plan for the Old Covenant to be that way, his plan,it all led up to and was in preparation of the Messai Jesus and the now New Covenant....don't you know that?
If we were all forgiven from before the foundation of the earth, why did we need a savior? Why did Jesus
even need to be born?
Like I said, his plan...The beginning, the Old Covenant and finally the New Covenant. Don't forget our God is all powerful, Omnipresent, Jesus and him planned all this from before the beginning!
If we're forgiven before the foundation of the earth, why are we told to repent and confess our sins?
No, no @B-A-C ....Repentance and confession is our part, he planned it that way and new who would chose him from the beginning!
Time exists so we have time to do the things we need to do. (especially the things we do for God).
If you truly have him in you, you are doing those things.
To assume that you are already forgiven,
I am not assuming anything, I know it!
Jesus died over 200 years ago for the forgiveness of all sins, surely you know that?!
Romans 6:10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.
Hebrews 9:28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
@B-A-C , how many times are you going to have Jesus climb up on the cross for your forgiveness......none!
He died one time for all your sins, have a repentance heart / Spirit but don't ask God to do something he already has done and won't do again.

Just do as that old hymn, Think how precious was that day that you first believed and you darkness will flee!

An impressive list of scriptures.
But not a single one of them says "You were forgiven before the foundation of the world". Not one.

No Jesus doesn't have to get crucified again. The price is paid for those who repent and ask for forgiveness.
It isn't paid for those who don't, nor those who think they don't have to ask.

Let's see:
They all talk about before the foundation:
  • Even before he made the world
  • Foreknew
  • Predestined
  • Before the ages began
  • Before the foundation of the world
Let's see about forgiveness:
  • "Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes" How can you be in Christ if you are not forgiven and saved?
  • For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, don't you know what it is to be conformed to his image?
  • who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, what exactly is it about all this that you don't believe or can come to grips with?
  • You you deny what I gave you, what is written....where are your verses that show this is false?

No Jesus doesn't have to get crucified again. The price is paid for those who repent and ask for forgiveness.
So we are saved, born again and he says he will never leave us and, he died one time , for all sins. But if you don't ask for forgiveness for each sin, you are now not forgiven, un-born again. How do you get "Born Again"?....how many times can you do this...and oh yes, please provide scripture.

You can't just take a lot of scriptures about predestination (about Jesus).
and another group of scriptures about forgiveness, and post them side by side
and say it's all about the same thing. None of the scriptures you posted have the words predestination,
or foundation of the earth, and forgiveness of sins in them together. Show me a single one.

"IF" we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
"IF" we confess... not if we don't. 1 Jn 1:9;

Matt 3:6; confession of sin.
Mark 1:5; confession of sin.
James 5:16; confession of sins.
1 Jn 1:9; confession of sin.

Jesus doesn't need to get re-crucified.
I don't need to get re-saved.
But I do need to confess my sins and ask for forgiveness.

Matt 6:12; ask for forgiveness
Matt 6:14; (if you forgive others) you will receive forgiveness.
Matt 6:15; (if you do not forgive others) you will not receive forgiveness.
Matt 18:21; (if you do not forgive others) you will not receive forgiveness.
Mark 11:25; ask for forgiveness.
Mark 11:26; if you do not forgive others, you aren't forgiven.
Luke 11:4; ask for forgiveness.
Luke 11:23:34; Jesus asks God to forgive some.
Acts 8:22; ask for forgiveness.
