Are you scared of God?

Big problem with church congregations is that they fear the devil more than they fear god
Planned by the enemy through media and movies in our culture the world infiltrated the church a long time ago
Movies like the exorcist that portrays a priest having no power over the devil paints a picture that satan has more power than god
Or even worse that satan is on the same level as the father
THIS COULDN'T BE FURTHER THAN THE TRUTH !
Many examples of scripture tells the real truth
James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will FLEE from you

Doesn’t say he will just turn around and walk but he will FLEE from you
Job 1:7
The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”

This tells us satan isn’t on equal terms with God because God is omnipresent he can be anywhere at any time and this tells us that Satan can only be at one place at one time or God wouldn’t of had to ask him where have you come from
Job1:12
And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

Again the Lord sets the rules says do not stretch out your hand (these are NOT equal beings
Revelations 12
Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan

my favorite example ( I have the painting in my bedroom) God didn’t even want to waste time dealing with Satan instead told Michael “ go handle my light work” and he was cast down
So many more examples that are in scripture from Jesus telling him to get lost time and again
So
WHY would the church fear Satan more than god?
I myself fear god not in a hide from him kinda way but in a respectful manner
Knowing your scripture and knowing your enemy will keep you from running away from a dog with no teeth

Interesting VOD about satan

The church, God's children ?

???

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
(Matthew 7:23 KJV)
There is a difference, knowing Jesus in your heart and knowing Jesus intellectually. If you only know Jesus intellectually you will never be saved.

You can scream to the rooftops, " i know Jesus " but you do not

However, one can get a thick rope through an eye of a needle, by untwining - until all that's left are threads.
Elephants? Camels? Not so much.

The rich need to be wary of their priorities. Are riches an end unto themselves? Or a means to other ends?

Rhema

(What's your source for the Syriac, if I may ask?)
What does it mean " to be rich " , monitary ? Intellectually ?

Being rich in God, is something of the heart, it is being filled with love

In light of the subject matter.... Micah 3: 11,12
11 Her leaders pronounce judgment for a bribe,
Her priests teach for pay,
And her prophets divine for money.
Yet they lean on the Lord, saying,
“Is the Lord not in our midst?
Catastrophe will not come upon us.”
12 Therefore on account of you,
Zion will be plowed like a field,
Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins,
And the mountain of the temple will become high places of a forest.

Does this not remind you of some modern day things, perhaps a circle of faith for some. But indeed, dont throw everyone one but yourselves under the bus. None of you are Elijah, yet when even he felt this anger and fear, and ran for his life, God made it clear that there were still faithful people that He kept track of that Elijah assumed didnt exist.

I do believe the topic under discussion was money.

I suppose taking your logic to the ultimate extreme it would be possible to pass anything through the eye of a needle given enough time, resources and commitment,......... but i dont really think Jesus was saying that do you?, i could slice that Camel into tiny slivers and pass it through, no problem, but then it wouldnt be a Camel would it, i could untwine that rope and pass it through, but then it wouldnt be a rope would it,,........

In the parable of the Sower Jesus talked of those "who receive the word, but the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of Riches choke the word and they become unfruitful", i wonder Rhema if you have allowed yourself to become "deceived by riches" and they have become your "treasure", for as Jesus also said, "Do not store up Treasure on Earth, for where your Treasure is your Heart will be also". The Parable of the Rich man is obvious for all those who choose to understand it, and together with Christs other teachings they show the incompatibility of Faith with the possession of Wealth and Riches,....... and it doesnt get much plainer than, " Its easier for a Camel (or a thick rope) to pass through the eye of a needle then for a rich man(Woman) to enter Heaven"

Has everyone forgotten what the eye of the needle really is.

The eye of the needle is the name of a doorway made for people to pass through and not camels. Yet if you took all the burdens off the camel you could probably get the camel through it

Bill,

That's a flat out fabrication. There never was any "eye of needle" gate. I would ask you get your facts in order.

Change your testimony or provide substantive proof.

Thanks,
Rhema

The man gate that's part of the main gate the nickname for it is the eye of the needle maybe you should talk to a Jewish person about that

You can scream to the rooftops, " i know Jesus " but you do not
I do hope you mean the "formal you" or have you singled me out?

I call BS. Plain and simple. I don't need Jews to talk to.

Then you will remain in the dark of knowledge. Do not care to know truth, do not wish to know truth. Lukewarm , not a good place to be

Greetings Bill,

I think you'll find that that idea is a modern invention, as in, several centuries after Christ.
It is a fable that has been around and a lot of people have decided it fits well with their comfort believing of what that passage is talking about.

What most miss, while splitting hairs (there you have an example of the frivolity and word play), is that the whole 'message' in that passage is more about not being able to make deals with God to get into His Kingdom, like the rich dude was trying on with Jesus , and then perhaps even more important is the words exchanged between Jesus and His Disciples about it.

Perhaps have a fresh read of the accounts of it in the Gospels and see the bigger picture?

But again, the idea of the little 'eye' gate is not something from the Bible.

Likewise, most of us modern folk who have seen lots of camel pictures in Bible stories and know so much because we are so privileged to be able to know so much, (cough cough) don't even stop to think what camels represented back then. Perhaps we should think about such things some more.?

Hint... you drive big rigs.... probably not delivering a pizza or a letter... probably running goods for large firms. there is your hint to the story.

Bless you ....><>

and please let us remember to not devour one another.
If i can use my earth mover and move mountains, but run over native locals while doing so, it profits me nothing.

Will you say the same when you see purgatory

I can tell you right now that there are many many preachers who are in purgatory as we speak and they are thankful that it is there even though they never preached on it and never believed in it

My question would be, do you have any scriptural support for it?

Heb 9:27; And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,
