SignUp Now!This came from the mouth of a prophet and as such is The Word of God. A position I would assume we are not speaking from. These words of Nathans are established in God's Own authority. My words as a brother in the Lord are not so authoritative and the person I am speaking to whoever they may be are standing in an equal position to my own unless God says otherwise. So we are counsel to one another. Iron sharpens iron however the use of shame has a violent aspect and has little to no place in the heart of a Christian.God chose to tell this account in Scripture for our learning from it.
My reference here is OUR attitude and approach. God Convicts and Thank God and Praise Him that He does Sue. Personally I could not live a moment without His guidance and I accept it any way He sends it, but it is important that it is Him. Shaming someone at our own volition 99.9 percent of the time pulls a person down from the inside out. It brings distruction far more often then not. Any Christian wants to build and restore not destroy and harm which is often the fruit of ego's expression. Anyway God Bless you Sue.Yes, God chose to use Nathan, a prophet to challenge David's actions as being Wrong, sin. David Did repent and God chose to take the child that David and Bathsheba had Back to be with Himself. Back in That day and time -- God Did work through His chosen prophets. And, you're right -- the 'shaming' aspect has no place. We Can end up Feeling shamed / ashamed / for our actions. That is our being convicted Of and brings the desire To Change. Closer to God.
As true born again Christians who believe and obey the uncorrupted Gospel of the Lord Jesus and Salvation through his shed blood?
As a duty to Almighty God's, both name and shame obviously corrupt heretics?

I witnessed a WoF church kill over 100 people because of this in my early Christian experience.John 10:10-29
King James Version
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Jude 3
King James Version
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Do you contend for your faith? The faith was once delivered and today we're getting new stuff from all over.
This is a battle.
My stepsister wanted to be healed and there were faith teachers telling her not to take her medicine because it is a sin. She died.
This is not an even playing field. The devil is not going to be neutral because you wish to be loving or neutral. The thief came to steal, kill and destroy.
People dont want to listen to a person when they speak with anger in their voices, as that tells them, that the person really doesnt care about them. If you actually cared, you would try to point it out such that they might actually listen and act upon what you say. Otherwise why bother to say it, except for feeling self righteous?John 10:10-29

There's a verse in Proverbs that says something about a soft answer turns away wrath. If a person starts Out that way -- you're right -- nothing positive will take place.
