As true born again Christians must or should we name and shame heretics?

John 10:10-29
King James Version

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Jude 3
King James Version

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Do you contend for your faith? The faith was once delivered and today we're getting new stuff from all over.
This is a battle.

My stepsister wanted to be healed and there were faith teachers telling her not to take her medicine because it is a sin. She died.
This is not an even playing field. The devil is not going to be neutral because you wish to be loving or neutral. The thief came to steal, kill and destroy.

I'm so sorry to hear about your stepsister. Taking medicine is Not a sin. And, of Course people want to be healed. No one likes to suffer and / or die.

Sin entered the world because back with Adam and Eve -- they listened to satan rather than trust God's Word.

And then there is this story of Nathan the Prophet exposing King David for Adultery and Murder. Would God name and shame someone by writing it in the word of God?

God chose to tell this account in Scripture for our learning from it.
This came from the mouth of a prophet and as such is The Word of God. A position I would assume we are not speaking from. These words of Nathans are established in God's Own authority. My words as a brother in the Lord are not so authoritative and the person I am speaking to whoever they may be are standing in an equal position to my own unless God says otherwise. So we are counsel to one another. Iron sharpens iron however the use of shame has a violent aspect and has little to no place in the heart of a Christian.

Yes, God chose to use Nathan, a prophet to challenge David's actions as being Wrong, sin. David Did repent and God chose to take the child that David and Bathsheba had Back to be with Himself. Back in That day and time -- God Did work through His chosen prophets. And, you're right -- the 'shaming' aspect has no place. We Can end up Feeling shamed / ashamed / for our actions. That is our being convicted Of and brings the desire To Change. Closer to God.

we should call them out, but the way we do it, is as important as the proof we bring,

My reference here is OUR attitude and approach. God Convicts and Thank God and Praise Him that He does Sue. Personally I could not live a moment without His guidance and I accept it any way He sends it, but it is important that it is Him. Shaming someone at our own volition 99.9 percent of the time pulls a person down from the inside out. It brings distruction far more often then not. Any Christian wants to build and restore not destroy and harm which is often the fruit of ego's expression. Anyway God Bless you Sue.

@ Dave M and 'hopefulson -- the goal Should be to bring people to the truth of Scripture -- false teachers should be approach on a one-on-one basis in a caring manner. And, yes, sometimes more Harm is done than good.

The Way we do it is Very important.

As true born again Christians who believe and obey the uncorrupted Gospel of the Lord Jesus and Salvation through his shed blood?
As a duty to Almighty God's, both name and shame obviously corrupt heretics?

I think you need to speak your truth but without stoning.

For example, many churches are shoveling in globalism, promoting proud single moms, and degenerates. There's a story about Jesus going super sayain and flipping tables and snapping at the shills and hedonism in the temple. It's more of this today in thought economics. Hijacking gospel or blatant blasphemy in the forms of cherry picking narratives.

Wrong.

A lack of shame today has brought on divorce rape, child custody where kids are used as weapons, promiscuity, and the other crap. The biggest problem today is the lack of shame in modern women and men. It looks like a pie eating contest. You can hear a trumpet as they walk.

I witnessed a WoF church kill over 100 people because of this in my early Christian experience.

People dont want to listen to a person when they speak with anger in their voices, as that tells them, that the person really doesnt care about them. If you actually cared, you would try to point it out such that they might actually listen and act upon what you say. Otherwise why bother to say it, except for feeling self righteous?

There's a verse in Proverbs that says something about a soft answer turns away wrath. If a person starts Out that way -- you're right -- nothing positive will take place.

There's a verse in proverbs about a virtuous woman. :)

2020 missed the mark.

Maybe we should each consider -- are 'we' being part of the problem OR part of the Solution.

Did someone do that to you? Was that which brought you to Christ? The Bible says it is the love and mercy of God that makes a man repent!

Why are you wasting your time on old trivia materials and doctrines that has been settle over a thousand years ago and documented. Those things are what we call; "satans deterrents"! Now think, if every semester in 30 years, you going around in a "circle" and never growing in "Eternal Life" but sounding like "Dead Men" bones! No "Spiritual Breath" in your words! my brother and sisters in Christ, your words has no "Spiritual Life in them". Your words are supposed to Have LIfe in them! How come you do not understand this! You words fall to the ground, no matter how many times you mentions Jesus's Name! you words are dull and dead!

If Jesus is speaking in you, you began to speak not like a ordinary person but A person Who Has been empowered by "The Holy Ghost" and Only then You can be a "Witiness for Christ"!

He told them to go somewhere and "Sit Down" Until They Have Been EMPOWERED from on HIGH! That POWER [Explosion] that {Dynamite] would irrupt, Into a "Witness" [a martyr]. But a lot of us, Just WENT! Fueled by another source and have gotten out there so Far, they are Afraid to "REPENT" and turn around because, Pride has Seared Their Conscious like a hot branding iron. PRIDE!, they rather take the Chance of Damnation than The PAth of Humility.:pensive:

New American Standard Bible
"The officers answered, "Never has a man spoken the way this man speaks."

Luke 4:32
They were astonished at His teaching, because His message had authority.
Matthew 7:29
For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

New American Standard Bible
"And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."

That Power givens you the inter power to witness. but these days there are many "witinessing without the inter power" and Just because you Have the "Holy Spirit" within you, does not mean, when you "witiness" that Power is being release. [and that is 'old school'] information. you learn that before you get off of "The Milk". To be a faithful witness, it must be "Blown by "The Wind". This message does do not travel by "Earthly words and thoughts" But "Spiritual" Words releasing "Spiritual Truths" By The Sons of GOD into Those who has the Ears to ear and to the Spirit to Understand its intent.

"The great purpose of Christianity is to make men like Jesus Christ. As He is the image of the invisible God we are to be the images of the unseen Christ. The Scripture is very bold and emphatic in attributing to Christ's followers likeness to Him, in nature, in character, in relation to the world, in office, and in ultimate destiny. Is He the anointed of God? We are anointed -- Christs in Him. Is He the Son of God? We in Him receive the adoption of sons. Is He the Light of the world? We in Him are lights of the world too. Is He a King? A Priest? He hath made us to be kings and priests."

(1st Epistle of John).
By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

For Blesseth are your Eyes, for you see
and Blesseth are your ears, for you hear.

Shalom.
