"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. ( Matthew 7:15 *NKJV )

God warns us to beware of many that teach falsely
in this World. For it is written, Beloved, do not
believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether
they are of God; because many false prophets
have gone out into the world. By this you know
the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus
Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And
this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have
heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
( 1 John 4:1-3 )

So when you see something on T V, or hear it on the
radio, or read it in the paper, don't believe it just because
it was said by a so-called scholar of God's Word. Always
remember that; All Scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness, that the man of God may be
complete, thoroughly equipped for every good
work. ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17 )

Now this is why I teach God's Holy Word from
the Original Transcripts every Weekend, and not the
traditions and false doctrines that man has added to the
Bible! Therefore you will be better equipped to spot false
teaching when it is done.

There after, you will only trust what is written
in the Bible, for Jesus said; "If you abide in My word, you
are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the
truth, and the truth shall make you free."
( John 8:31-32 )

All My Love & Prayers,
Pastor Allen

Much "Wresting" going on

Psa 56:5Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts [are] against me for evil.
2Pe 3:16As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that areunlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
Hsa 4:6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
More than you know, starting with the "per"versions of the Bible.....

Amen sister. Just this morning, the Lord was telling me to warn other christians about the false prophets who roam the world and the internet, trying to gain spiritual power over other christians. This is why the Lord found it soooo important for us to be "FILLED" with the Holy Spirit, so that we may be good guardians of the faith, just like Peter who finding out about Ananias and his wife, took action so that there would be witnesses who could see that the Holy Spirit will not tolerate those who seek to dominate His children for ill purpose.

I was once warned in a dream that a semi-christian cult would try to take over a christian website I was previously involved in, I shared the dream and the take over was thwarted. Thanks be to God! The same group is seeking to dominate other christian forums, and motivated by whisperings of satan, they seek to promote thier cultish ways into the true flock. They begin by having semi-spiritually speaking people, good in knowledge, begin gaining members sympathetic to them though means of deception. They find those on site (usually showing respect to moderators, but not to those spiritually discerned who are not moderators), who have been given greater discernment and pick a fight with them to attempt to put them into a bad light, to encourage them to leave, then with the watchmen gone, they trample the freedom we have in Christ. Its a group of them, or at least a group of accounts, about 9 at the previous site, who join at different times, at first just 2-3 as scouts, then the rest follow in giving acclaim to the ones who are the most persuasive in the hopes of controlling the site. I can only warn others here, but you must be discerning, for even the elect can be deceived.

These are for sure the most "dangerous" people in the world. They look real, and they have infiltrated the Church!

2Tim 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Tim 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Tim 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Tim 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Tim 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Tim 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

And ( 2 cor 13:5) making sure we ourselves never fall short! before I look to cleanup another's backyard,I better make sure mine is clean and in order!! The warning you give is most real! This is why we check our self daily! For there will be many to deceive, like Simon, but like Philip, who was not worried about Simon,we just preach the truth! The Lord will take care of a deceiver!( acts 5:38-39) and Simon ( acts 8:9-25!!!)

Amen, I was just listening to Martyn LLoyd Jones talk about that exact text today:

The False Believer | Sermons | MLJ Trust

Good Stuff

I agree! I dont really like to be one to admonish others, and appreciate others who moderate , because it can be a thankless job. Yet if the Lord tells us through the Holy Spirit, speak thus and thus and the message agrees with the tenants of scripture, to refuse to do so, puts us in the shoes of Jonah in his disobedience. I once vocally (in prayer while driving) refused to be the one to confront another christian over something the Lord wanted me to address (I liked the person and didnt want to anger them), and the Lord punished me moments later by my vehicle shutting down and refusing to start. No matter what I did, I couldnt get it to start. I called the wrecker from a nearby resturant, and asked them to tow me home. Sad and frustrated, I sat in my vehicle waiting for them, and apologized to God and told Him I would deliver the message, no matter the consequence, but if possible to not let the person hold a grudge against me as I knew they would be angry at me. I felt a peace come over me, the heavy conviction gone, and then suddenly the vehicle started again. My backyard will never be as clean as I would prefer it to be, but that cant be an excuse to avoid being a messenger if God chooses any of us to carry that message.

It does indeed take time to learn between our own anger, and the Lord's!! LOL If I myself wish to do something, this does not mean Jesus is on automatic! Meaning he agrees because I know I am right in what I am about to do! We can be right, but wrong in the way we look to carry it out! So Rom 8:14-15 is always my first call! Not a feeling, but a leading to where wisdom is both present not only for the person I look to correct, but for me as well! Because as a servant one must speak the words of a servant! ( 1 john 4:1) I am a tester!! lol

True story here.....
There are way too many Christians going around claiming this ministry or that ministry is a false teacher or teaches heresy.
Now they presented examples of bits and pieces of cut inserps from various parts of messages that were spoken. (bad idea )
They also used a list a mile long from inter net sites saying the same things and claims that were not true. (bad idea )
So I knowing some of the ministers in questions began to research...

Now as I told the accusers to do I did. I began to search the internet accusers of everything they posted. I then went to their churches and dug through what they taught and so forth. Bottom line........they had so much human tradition and religious beliefs that it was not even funny. Their own teaching did not line up 100 percent with the word. So I ask how can you claim they are in a position to make such a claim about another ministry ?

God warns us about false teachers BUT never once told us to go out and blast them. Never once told us to accuse our brethren and infact the written word of God teaches us just the opposite. Too many ministries are going to be held accountable to their false accusations. So I worn those who feel the need to speak out in this........Seek God and His word first.

Romans 16:17-18 ¶ Now I beseech you brethren, mark them diligently which cause division and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned, and avoid them. For they that are such, serve not the Lord Jesus Christ but their own bellies, and with fair speech and flattering deceive the hearts of the simple.

The scriptures are full of examples of false teachers being called out and rebuked, and Gods people being warned against listening to them.

You say there is a lot of false information and lies on the Internet about people. Well, let's get a little more specific perhaps? Like a name? Who was being falsely accused that you found out it was a bunch of lies? Dealing in generalities doesn't seem to be helpful in establishing anything here.

I have seen that very thing happen.

If the Lord tells you through the Holy Spirit to warn a brother or sister, and you dont do it, or you will be held accountable. But if the Lord says nothing to me about someone then indeed its best to keep silent.

No place does this say hey travis go run and tell of false prophets or teachers.

This scriptures is telling us that those who teach things other then the written word of God. Things that cause division in the church or stir up commotion and such to AVOID these people. It does not say we must go around and accuse them.
People such as jim jones and other such people who claim to be christ or sent by christ then these arte the ones we should voice our beliefs to others.

In no way are we to simply start speaking against a ministry just because we do not agree with what is being taught.

The scriptures are full of examples of false teachers being called out and rebuked, and Gods people being warned against listening to them.
This was a time of people claiming to be leaders and taught stuff mixed with the laws and other bits and pieces and was twisted.
There is a huge difference between these people and ministries today. Yes and it was during the period where we werre being shown how to walk and it is not taught in the written word of God for His saints to go out and accuse His servents of being false.

Again this is directed to those who claim to be Christ or sent from Him and preach things oposite of the written word of God. If you simply do not agree or UNDERSTAND what a ministry is teaching does NOT give you right to speak out against them.

You say there is a lot of false information and lies on the Internet about people. Well, let's get a little more specific perhaps? Like a name? Who was being falsely accused that you found out it was a bunch of lies? Dealing in generalities doesn't seem to be helpful in establishing anything here.

No I do not need to get specific with this statement. I spoke it in such a way as to show the type of things one must do before they begin to blast other ministries and using google to pull up other peoples beliefs and run with them. I used this as an example in a converstaion that had names of pastors already and no one could truly come up with real proof.

God will take care of His own. He will attept to get their attention and get them repented and moving in a better direction or God will simply alolow them to fall flat on their face.
You how ever have your own views and that is fine for you. However you will be held accountable for ervery word and accusation you speak against a servant of God.

Let's dig through the scriptures:

[1Ti 1:18-20 ESV] 18 This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith, 20 among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Notice here that Paul calls them out by name. For all we know, those two men could have been standing in the assembly when this epistle was read to everyone. Ouch Paul, we aren't supposed to call out those who teach false doctrine... what are you doing man?

[2Ti 2:15-18 ESV] 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. 16 But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, 17 and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 who have swerved from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already happened. They are upsetting the faith of some.

O man.... He did it again.... Ouch Paul. Ok... maybe it was just Paul doing this, maybe Paul was making a mistake in this area. The other apostles wouldn't do anything of the sort, surely.

[3Jo 1:9-10 ESV] 9 I have written something to the church, but Diotrephes, who likes to put himself first, does not acknowledge our authority. 10 So if I come, I will bring up what he is doing, talking wicked nonsense against us. And not content with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers, and also stops those who want to and puts them out of the church.
I thought John was like the apostle of love? But here he is calling out Diotrephes by name? What gives? Shouldn't John have gone to him 1 on 1 first and tried to work things out first before spreading such slander about this man?

[Eph 5:11 ESV] 11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

How are we to expose the unfruitful works of darkness that come from public pulpits if we can't talk about them. Aren't we commanded to expose them? Which is it, are to expose them, or to not expose them? It seems like it's saying to expose them? It doesn't say go and burn their church down and put them in jail, but it does say expose them, does it not?

[Mat 7:15-16 ESV] 15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

If there was a pack of wolves just over the next hill, and I was coming from that direction and ran into you and your herd of sheep, would I be in the wrong to tell you, "Hey, theres a pack of wolves over the hill, you best not be going that direction kind sir. I don't want you and your precious flock to be eatin alive! Blessings!" Is it wrong to warn you about the wolves? Should I have sung you a nice melodic psalm and told you, "God bless you! Be at peace! All is well in the world good sir!" and been on my merry way?

[1Jo 4:1 ESV] 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

We are told that it is the last time, and that there are going to be many false prophets out there. Ok got it. We are told to test the spirits and see whether they are from God or not. Ok got it. Now after you have done all this, and you find out that someone is a false prophet, you should keep it to yourself and not tell anyone because it might offend some. Ok got it. Wait.... what???? Where did that come from? Should we be careful about making false accusations? Definitely. Should we keep quiet because some may be offended by the truth? God forbid.

[Gal 1:6-9 ESV] 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-- 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

There's an eternal price to pay for preaching a false gospel. If some person is preaching a false gospel, and people we know are following after him, they are in great danger. The most loving thing to do would be to try our best to show them that this person is preaching a false gospel, that he is misleading them.

[1Ti 5:20 ESV] 20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.

I've said before, and I don't want to take it back, that I think this verse is referring primarily, if not solely, to elders in the church. That being said, people who are in positions of authority, "pastors," "teachers," those who call themselves "apostles" and "prophets," fall into this category. When they publicly sin by teaching false doctrine, they open themselves up to being publicly rebuked for their sin. One could almost say that the scriptures command it. You may say... well that's not your job Travis... Ok, fine, that's your opinion. But it's certainly someones job, whether you think it's mine or not. If you would step up to the plate and do it, then I wouldn't have to =D. Would make my life a lot more simple.

[2Ti 3:1-5 ESV] 1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
And last but not least, here is one more set of verses. I will let someone else's post from another thread speak on this one, as long as he doesn't mind.

[Tit 1:9-13 ESV] 9 He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it. 10 For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party. 11 They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach. 12 One of the Cretans, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons." 13 This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,

Greetings,

It appears that Paul is referring to Believers here.

Pull the Believers up for listening to such rot! so that they will be sound in the faith and so they stop listening to and buying such rot!

my paraphrase:
Don't pussyfoot around with the flock, keep them alert to filth and deception. It is the faith that needs to be preserved, for them and for those who will follow.
The world is full of evil and liars and deceivers, it's true, so warn with power and firmness (never once without love being the motive and care) so that the flock are made to sit up and take note that such rot and listening to it is a NO-GO Zone!

Not, dear members of the congregation, sorry to bother you but i am a bit sad today because , well, I don't want to upset you, but, well, please don't take too much notice of anyone who isn't part of our loving congregation.... and don't forget we're having a raffle this week. The prize is a surprise and I'll give you a hint... it is good listening sermons stuff, by a very popular speaker from Crete!
See you all next sunday.

NO!

Rebuke them for their foolishness in even considering the option of thinking of listening to brutish deceivers (who fit the descriptions Paul gave).

Not, it's probable not a very good idea to keep going that direction because the bridge has collapsed and you might get hurt... NO!

STOP!!! DANGER!!! STOP!!!

People will lose interest in trying to deceive those who refuse to listen to them.

It's not the Cretans and other liars who need rebuking, it is us, the household of God, the 'Israel' of Faith.
Always ever be at repentance, always ever, reject the world and it's dirty lies and listen not to those who speak them. Do not sniff petrol, it will damage your brain, we would say very sharply (as in with determination to cut the idea off) to our children and children anywhere (if we care). Same goes here, Paul is instructing one who is to guide and oversee the flock, the little children he so often refers to.
It is not a case of yelling and getting aggressive and brutal in punishment, but as with a sword, to deliberately act in such care and love as to cut the briers from the babes and set them free, to also cut the temptation to go into the briers off. It is a constant 'job'.

Bless you ....><>

Many people are full of hate and they throw stones to make themselves feel better. These people do no good for anyone. But the truth of the matter is that the world, and more specifically what is called the church, is full of ravenous wolves who need to be identified and exposed. Most of these ravenous wolves, that are of the most dangerous, operate from pulpits and "Christian" ministries:

2 Corinthians 11
13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

Blessings!

Travis

All you did was show how the followers of Jesus taught as the early church was being created. Even with your narrations it does not prove you are to go around and judge servents of God.. What people today are calling false teachers are in no way anything close to what is being referred to in the early church. Most of them had not even been made aware of the entire new covenant with God or His commands for it was still being taught as from not ever been heard.

I am not going to sit herre with you and play scripture war games trying to prove something. YOu can pull scripturers from here or there and use them to say or prove what ever point you want. However we are under commands of God that do not allow us to go around and speaking against His servents. Dont ask me to show you this for if you are as educated in the scriptures as you come off to be then you know exactly what I am talking about.

Be blessed and accuse who ever you desire.... it's your life brother not mine.

Nothing that is hid shall be hidden for long. All wickedness will be exposed for all to see eventually.

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

2Ti 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
2Ti 3:9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
