The last point is, I hope, the one that strikes home the hardest. Bitter atheists know inside where truth is.
I am coming to this view:
The denial of Jesus is the betrayal of our deepest self.
We are in Thessoniki supporting the Christian work.
Anyone else have a heart for Greece?
Most people who reject Christ probably do so for some reason that can be found in the Bible. You might be able to add to them, but here a few.
Ignorance
Romans 1:18-23; 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed [it] unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Pride
John 5:40-44 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41 I receive not honour from men. 42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that [cometh] from God only?
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Moral issues
John 3:19, 20 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
I try to remember that even to the last breath Salvation is available to all, and that my prayers are that all might come to Him, though I know this will not be the case for many who will turn away, even in the face of so great a Love as Our God has for the world. So, even in the telling in whatever that might be, to those who reject Him, I try to love them just as He loves me.
