All I see is speculative reasoning, nothing concrete.
I have shown the meaning of the original Greek word and you are not willing to accept it?

No, becauseI have shown the meaning of the original Greek word and you are not willing to accept it?
We can agree to disagree.Tatoo's are worldly. If you research the history of tatoo's they have their roots in paganism and idolatry. Not once in the Bible do we read that a disciple or believer had a tatoo
Love not the world
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God
James 4:4
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
2 Corinthians 6:20
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit
Romans 8:5
We can agree to disagree.
It’s not so much that I disagree with the verses themselves, but more so my understanding of them. From how I understand these verses listed in this thread, there is no explicit or implicit commandment saying that we cannot get a tattoo.I'm just wondering which of the Bible verses you disagree with
so Jesus died for our sins for no reason, so God made a terrible mistake in creating man and woman in his image? He made a terrible mistake when he sent isiah out for three years prophesying, that Peter etc sinned when they were nude and mending nets etc? Boy, have i made a mistake misinterpreting scripture! I better stop being a naturist and start showering in a raincoat, and having sexual relations dressed. God & Nudity It is man who has made nudity bad, its the human mind and its sinful nature, full of lust and sexual immorality. Beneath the facade of clothing we are all the same.Greeting sister, why are you looking for 'art' on Google you will only get todays definition?
What does the Greek say?
What does the Bible say?
Art is something that has progresses over the centuries. Lets look at the New Testament
Greek Strong's Number: 5078
Greek Word: τέχνη
Transliteration: technē
Phonetic Pronunciation: tekh'-nay
Root: from the base of <G5088>
English Words used in KJV: translated to what we understand today
art 1
occupation 1
craft 1
The word techne refers to craftsmanship, as productive, a trade, occupation e.g. As stone mason, carpenter, potter,
Referring to as the art of stone masonry, the art of being a master craftsman, carpenter, the art of being a potter came later.
Stepping back into the Old Testament we have
Hebrew Strong's Number: 4639
Hebrew Word: מַעֲשֶׂה
Transliteration: maʿaśeh
Phonetic Pronunciation: mah-as-eh'
English Words used in KJV: translated to what we understand today
work 189
needlework
acts 4
labour 4
etc
"Techne" is a term, etymologically derived from the Greek word τέχνη , that is often translated to understand today as "craftsmanship", "craft", or "art".
Scripture does not say nudity is good, nor does it say nudity is and art, or acceptable, to the contrary.
You are correct in quoting scripture that God created man and woman, and what He had created He said was good, that was before the fall.
Everything was good before the fall. Sin corrupted all that was good.
You are correct that Adam and Eve were naked before the fall, that was because everything was good in God's eyes, and there was No Sin.
What happened as soon as they sinned? They got leaves and covered their bodied, but they were only leaves you may say, true they were at first, but notice they got the first things they could lay their hands on and they were in the Garden of Eden.
As mankind grew, bodies were covered up more, as we know Adam and Eve didn't kill animals for meat that also came later so sinks from animals were not available for them at first.
Scripture very clearly states we are to cover our bodies, look at history, for thousands of years people covered there bodies, except for painting or statues made over the last 1500 years or so, people covered their bodies, it wasn't until these latter days, from the 1960's, that clothing changed dramatically, clothing got smaller and smaller, clothing got tighter and tighter, more and more of the body has become exposed like never before.
Shalom
i do have tattoos. As to why, I am 18 months from 80, when I had my tattoos I was 14, why would a fourteen year old have tattoos? Likely, I wished to be accepted by someone. Do I have regrets? Why would I? They are part of what brought me to Jesus. As for you not having them Fragrant grace, why would you even mention that?Do you have a tatoo?
Why?
Recent?
Old?
Regrets?
Just about every second person one passes in the street seems to be tatooed
Ladies just as much as gentlemen these days
Lately I am seeing more and more people with Bible verse tatoo's declaring their faith
For the record I do not have tatoo's and believe the Bible is clear on these issues
Just for interest and scriptural advice.....not heavy debate or dispute
As for you not having them Fragrant grace, why would you even mention that?
This really touched my spirit and I am so happy for you! When you look at her, sure you see the wrinkles but is she just as beautiful in your eyes as she ever was?I am a tattooed Christian and I would that I wasn't, but thank God he doesn't hold our misspent youths against us. I was 14 when I allowed someone to practise their (substandard) artistic skills on my body. Needless to say I was severely spanked for my lack of wisdom, by my father (with his belt). Being tattooed has been a major regret throughout my life, I am now two years off eighty, most of the time I am unaware of the scribbles and then someone will comment and I go through my regrets again. I find nothing more beautiful that a body, male or female, of the Lord's design. No tattoos, no metal, no hair dye, no make up. Beautiful. When I eventually receive my new body, I will take more care of it. Helen and I have been together for 53 years and we probably would be seen by the young as wrinkleys but when I look into her eyes and see the love in them it inevitably moves me to tears. I would counsel anyone to hang on in there through the crap and the pain, because, when you come out the other side, it gets better and better.
