Finally Realize What My Problem Is - Don't See A Better Place To Post This

It matters that we know that Paul's thorn was not a sickness, for he had the power in Christ to appropriate his healing. God, the perfect Father would never say no to healing! Rather, He said no to removing the thorn of persecution, because persecution is a promise for all who serve God. He gives us the strength to endure it, just as He promised Paul.

God's word tells us that the thorn is a person---in every single instance in the entire volume of the book. Never is it a sickness or anything else.

Believing erroneously that Paul's thorn was some kind of physical ailment gives Christians the excuse to believe a lie---that it is somehow God's will that His children be sick.

Hold onto your faith in God. This is never an evil thing. We have our differences apparently on this, but God understands all of the differences and loves us in spite of them. If we keep trusting in Him, He will resolve everything that needs to be resolved.

By all means my faith is solid, and I don't allow it to waver. However, this misunderstanding of the word concerning Paul's thorn is a very subtle thing that leads Christians to miss an integral part of the knowledge of God, His character, and intimacy with the Father because of it.

Just a word to the wise, brother in Christ.

There are many subtle things and God knows about every one of them even if men do not. Those who place their trust in Him will come to where He wants them to be

Yes, Holy Spirit is our reprover and teacher. He is the One who guides us into the truth of any matter. We just need to have open ears to His profound yet not subtle voice. Amen.

I think at this point I have to stop talking with you. You are apparently heading down the path of telling me that I have not been healed because I have not had enough faith. I have tried my best to have faith all my life, so I don't think that's the problem.

Actually I think Ophel is saying that you are not healed because of unbelief...That is not faith...at least not all of faith....To clarify that my friend....I know that God heals, I've seen Him do it..I've laid hands on folks and I've seen God heal people of growths behind kneecaps, a woman in pain, not being able to get around without a cane, she threw it away and went to dancing. The point is...I believed that when I asked God to heal them, He would..He did....But when I asked Him to heal me....another story...I did not feel like I was worthy, not good enough...etc....Did I get healed? No...I did not believe God would heal ME...Just everybody else. How's that for a stupid form of pride?
So I'm wondering....Do you feel God will heal others, but not you? You have the same amount of faith as everybody else....God gave everybody the same amount of faith you know...
