Looking ahead the climb is getting steeper for me...but not too steep as along as I just walk with the Lord, patiently step by step and not try to finish in on long stride...a flash thought was to tap out but I can't!

."a flash thought was to tap out but I can't!" :sob:

That is part of the "journey"! just wait until you make it to "The Pilgrims Progress" and it plays before your face. as You sit down on that log.:sob: And you are going to Wonder How Did I make it over.:sob:

It is never how you start off, It is all about "Finishing" what you have started.!

"And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.":sob:

LOL, You are going to have to "pray", :sob: Have you forgotten: "I can do all things through "Christ JESUS" who Strengthens me"
:eyes::sob:

I am sorry @PloughBoy, but I will be going on to the book of Revelation as arranged.
I do not envisage reading 'The Pilgrims Progress' at this time.
ok, no problem.:)

PS. don't forget your computer will read it for you. or copies of it is on "youTube" Just a far off thought, I figured we would be there around "Christmas Holidays" The Old english lettering and not the new english versions. With a warm cup of "Holiday Tea".

But no problem go where you are lead. :)

Interesting note: I purchased a copy of this more than one year ago. I read the preface and stopped. Just been reading and rereading the Bible in this manner: Genesis to Revelation, New Testament, Genesis to Revelation, New Testament - a loop like that. What Are You Reading? TJ post
LOL, You are going to have to "pray", :sob:
I do know you are on point with this statement.

I have read my Mum's copy, which is beautifully illustrated. It is now in my sister's possession, but if I read any copy, it will be that one. She had all the Bible references marked. It is a beautiful book. It will be mine one day, God willing.

Hello @Mister,

Glad to hear that you are making good progress. It could in fact be called a 'Pilgrim's Progress', for you are a Pilgrim, yes? :)

I read through Revelation before beginning the journey through the minor prophets and other books assigned to us in this thread: and am encountering resistance in my spirit to reading it again now. So I am going to take a break, and read the prison epistles of Paul again, which are my home from home (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus and Philemon). I just need to rest my mind upon the surety of the truths they contain, and rejoice in Christ my Saviour.

What the reading of these books has left me with is a wonderful knowledge of the solidity and surety of our God, who is faithful and true, Who means what He says, and says what He means, fulfilling it to the letter. I am resting in Him, for He holds me up, supports my back, keeps my arms in place, and my feet firmly anchored. He will never leave me or forsake me. Praise His Holy Name!

Within the love of Christ our Saviour,
our Lord and Head.
Chris

'Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
This people draweth nigh unto Me with their mouth,
and honoureth Me with their lips;
but their heart is far from Me.'
(Mat 15:7-8)

Jeremiah 12:2; Isaiah 29:13; Ezekiel 33:1;

* I never want this to be true of me. :pensive:

LOL you got me laughing! :sob: Do you think you will need Jesus on that one? Are you sure? What about for just in case? :eyes: If true, what are you going to do?

Psalm 19
"Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."

Finished Jeremiah, and may read a lil Lamentations before bed. Backing up a bit, from Ezekiel, these words are penetrating my mind going round and round, round and round:

Ezekiel 33: 12-20...Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

GOD is so high and mighty, so unreachable, how can I say to Him, His ways are unequal :pensive: I repent and may the Lord Jesus shield me of those evil thoughts, as they dart in, don't let them penetrate my heart, my soul, my mind...rather, give me fear and obedience LORD!!!

Jeremiah's obedience and humility working by faith, makes me merry inside and also, this one in particular makes me smile.

Jeremiah 13:1-9...Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water. So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins. And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock. So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me. And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there. Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing. Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem. This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing. For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

Praise God, for His mercy and His grace,
that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
Without that where would we be?

Is that not So True, God will do us so bad, to make us cleave unto Him when we go so astray. Now that is Love.:) {he does us bad to make us cleave} and gives others "Gold"to drive them away. So the rock star is right, God did bless them with riches.:eyes:

"For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear."

I bet this one, will cause many to think. ["the mills of the gods turn exceedingly slow']

'I am Alpha and Omega,
the Beginning and the End
the First and the Last.'
(Revelation 22:13)

Hello there, @Mister and @PloughBoy, (I hope @Jesus_is_LORD and @Christ4Ever are still on the journey behind the scenes).

I am so glad that I have taken this journey, for the truth contained in the Old Testament prophets is so very needed today. This sentence is so pregnant with unspoken words in the light of world events that I feel my throat is full.

I am waiting at the beginning of Revelation. Sat at the side of the opening words, for I will not begin the journey into it's depths, 'here,' until you are alongside: though I will read it privately for my own edification in quiet contemplation until then.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things:

It has been amazing in these last hours, if I may be permitted to say it that way. I am In the valley's of the Kings, and going very slow but so much is being "Orchestrated" in present of life. I cannot describe it. Strange, Even as I observe each one input. it is amazing.

I wanted to use my work breaks including lunch to keep reading but call after call and interruption after interruption presented itself. So the excitement of getting to the readings was amplifying and finally after running after work errands, getting the home situated, I was able to sit down and be with the Lord!! Phew! I was going to pop!

John read (1-5 last night 6-7 this morning) and 8-21 this evening. [Wait I read 2 chapters this morning forget which] I love the account of Jesus written by the disciple that Jesus loved.

John 10: 25-29...Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed me not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe me not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.

John 17:2-3...As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

John 18:31...Then said Pilate unto them, take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, it is not lawful for us to put any man to death.

John 19:26-27...When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

I just wanna shout and proclaim THE MIGHTY GOD!!!

You really are entering the Spirit of The Word and It is really becoming LIVING, Because when you do, it brings Life to The hearers ears. And i notice you see The relationship of John being a very young man, under The Close teachings of Christ, So he was not, been tainted by other men as a young man are, but had a prime relationship with "The SON of GOD" and got to see him and believe He was more than a "Prophet", "Messiah" or "teacher". His words meant more to Him, he watch Him, he watch Jesus every move, how he slept, How He move away from The crowds, How he dealt with the disciples.

He saw the saddest on His face, The sorrows that plagued Jesus's heart. The tears that fell from his face. And the things Jesus Spoke to him, That other Disciples did not hear. :pensive: And he heard how others thought of Jesus and most had it wrong. But too young to Face the others by face TO FACE and tell them you got it wrong.

Now you can see the "Significance" out side of the "Synoptic Gospels" and have a understanding it Presented Our SAVIOR as "The SON of GOD" and who could do it any better. But "John". "Behold, Woman Your son" Behold John, Your Mother" and she had, 5 other Children, But She stay and John took care of Her for the rest of her life. He took care of The mother of the SON of GOD. He committed his mother, into his hands.:pensive:

The gospel of JOHN is so rich. I worn those pages out! In year 1 :joy: You could not see the writings on those pages. the ink worn out!

I am so glad you are thrilled:)

You and Complete makes my day as I hear the tone of your excitement. from reading The Book. and How God is Blessing you.

PloughBoy, And I am glad to be a part of your company.:pensive:
