@KingJ i don't fully understand your post. In the spirit of humility and a desire to gain understanding could you expand upon that a little more for me. Maybe we will all be blessed! Travis

My point is that positive and motivational speakers will make great pastors at many churches. People today are more mindful of their positive aura then standing for righteousness and holiness. Our joy as Christians comes from knowing we pass truthful self judgment / are obeying His word. When we do this we know the windows of heaven are open to us / God hears our prayers. We speak life and truth not positive and negative. Positive and negative should not be part of a Christians vocabulary.

Greetings,

Gentile(s) can also be rendered nation(s) and refers also to certain of the children of Israel
For example :
Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Genesis 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

Dogs:
Isaiah 56:11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

However, the dogs that the woman mentioned as did the Lord are more correctly puppies.

Bless you ....><>

Greetings,

Speaking of which, who exactly was the writer of Hebrews?

Forgive my late reply and momentary deviation from the above,
the latest I heard was a woman who was mentioned by name by Paul the Apostle , Phoebe or Andronicus.
It was quite a stretch but that seems to be quite common. We scoff atheists remarking that it takes more faith to believe evolution but we tend to happily accept teachings that require a long stretch of the imagination and then call ourselves approved.

Bless you ....><>

Suggesting that Jesus was hurling insult is not what it was about. Any such suggestion is sad.
Too many say too much too hastily.
Ok,I did say "some form" of hurling insults.May be it was the wrong way to say it, if that upsets you. I did say though also that he was challenging or testing the woman by making some comparison to the woman, her children and dogs, remembering that dogs in that culture were considered unclean , like pigs. So his discussion with her wasn't exactly in the form of a nicety, and I am sorry if that upsets you. Regardless, she fought through the test and her faith was responsible for the healing of her daughter.
This was a parable and Travis was asking for an interpretation from us...that was mine....why don't you have a hand at it?
This was also in response to a well known set of verses about a dog's "vomit", which this had nothing to do with!
