As an adult, I use Myspace all the time and I like it. I do have children and completely agree that it is not set-up to be safe for children. I do like some of its features though and I use it often as a tool to keep in contact with my younger cousins (since they are teenagers they ALL find me on Myspace) and the youth group I use to help with. Facebook is also good..I think my whole church is connected. So, use Myspace with caution, in my opinion.

I use facebook, but not myspace, I feel there is a difference between the two. On facebook it is just for sharing your life with family and friends, I don't allow access to anyone I don't know (though I do know some people that add anyone and everyone that asks for a friend request).

No-one can chat to me that I don't know, it's not a chat room full of strangers.

God Bless hope this helps,

Dani

True, there some obvious differences between the two-Myspace/Facebook. I like keeping track of different organizations through both websites, for example, on Myspace VOM (Voice of the Martyrs) posts prayer updates and you can log-on and see them. On Facebook I belong to a Christian legal rights counsel that allows me to keep up-to-date with various legal matters. I suppose it depends on the level of comfort between users.

Myspace is just a fad. That site will be dead within the time something else comes along. The internet is just this generation's most advanced way to communicate. When the internet advances faster than myspace, that will become history. It has advantages and disadvantages, just like kids 20 years ago hanging out at malls, arcades, and such. There could be a whole new way to communicate by the time I have teenage kids, and that thing could be even more controversial than myspace.

As for my opinion of myspace, I kind of wish that people would communicate in person more. I've always wished that I could communicate in person more often. Pedophiles and bullies still are at malls, parks, and even in schools too, not just the internet. Pedophiles, along with cyber bullying can also reach AIM, email, MSN, forums, etc.

The creation of myspace doesn't please god, but a user can use it to please god. For instance, they could hold prayers by posting a bulliten, like what someone ele did here, or they could put into their bio or whatever praise about God.

its okay...

I have myspace...some people don't use it the way it should be used. Most of my family has it and we voice that we are christians on it.

I agree with the one who said its not so bad except for all the half nude pics and language!!! This site is awsome and you dont have to worry about anyone judging you and you know everyone is a christian here.

Myspace is pretty much old news. I have a Myspace, but I rarely use it. I only have a profile so I can keep in touch with friends from high school. Most people have moved on to Facebook because it is much easier and (usually) contains less drama. I do agree, however, that young teens often do very stupid things on Myspace; it doesn't mean that the site is evil though.

Its obviously nothing to do with GOD, nor to glorify GOD in any way. Sure its nice to meet with friends, but you can do the same through a better environment and other better methods (email, IM) which have been around since day one.

I wouldn't want my kids (I don't have any, but if I did that is) to browse a site like that and risk them seeing nasty content that they should not see. Not worth it at all.
I totally agree. Even though I am a member on there, I hardly go on unless there's a comment or something. But yes, if I was married and had children, I probably wouldn't let them be a part of any online community thing. I'd probably not even have a computer. It can be such a big distraction.

my space

i am kinda new on my space but never have as yet come into contact with anything bad. it is sure great for witnessing Jesus to others, to the saved and not saved and i have done that there. we are not to coup ourselves up and let our light shine everywhere within reason. Jesus went everywhere proclaiming the gospel; weddings, funerals, the country, the city and we His people are to do the same.

I dumped myspace. To much immorality in the pages and spam friend requests from pornographic sites/profiles.

I use Facebook which seems to better.
